Following the shocking demise of a key military official, a probe has been launched into Malyk’s death.

Lt. Col. Roman Malyk, Military commissar, also the head of Vladimir Putin's military mobilisation campaign for Ukraine was found dead under "suspicious" circumstances, several news reports claimed.

Quoting The Mirror, a Hindustan Times report said that the 49-year-old was found dead in a possible suicide at his residence in a village in the Primorsky region of Russia.

Following the shocking demise of a key military official, a probe has been launched into Malyk’s death, HT reported.

The reports also suggest that suicide has not been ruled out as a cause by Russian police.

Malyk's death comes amid many reports of assaults on mobilisation officers across the country as resentment over enlistment increased following Putin's military call-up last month.

Russian President Vladimir Putin announced partial military mobilisation in a bid to escalate war in Ukraine after Moscow suffered military setbacks by Ukraine’s defence.

However, as soon as the mobilisation was announced scores of Russian were seen fleeing across the country’s border
