Israeli General Who Served In Gaza: Hamas Is Winning, Netanyahu Losing

The Palestinian resistance movement Hamas is wining in the besieged Gaza Strip and cannot be defeated despite Israel’s upper hand on a tactical level, says a senior Israeli general.

In an interview with The New York Times published on Tuesday, Major General Gadi Shamni, a former commander of the Israeli military’s Gaza division, stressed that Hamas is winning the war, while the Tel Aviv regime is losing, “and in a big way.”

He added that while Hamas's military capabilities have diminished, the movement continues to hold authority over Gaza, stressing that Hamas fighters have been retaking towns across the blockaded territory “15 minutes” after Israeli troops withdrew from them.

According to the Time’s report, Shamni is not alone in this assessment, which is shared by some current and former Israeli military officials who do not see the defeat of Hamas as a possibility.

They stress that the Tel Aviv regime is losing the war, deterrence and its captives.
