India's Groundbreaking Success with Operation Sindoor

CHENNAI, July 11 (PTI) — India effectively targeted nine terror locations across Pakistan during Operation Sindoor, as stated by National Security Advisor Ajit Doval on Friday. He expressed pride in India's capability and technological prowess for neutralising threats from across the border.

Doval highlighted the precision of the operation, which enabled India to accurately identify the locations of targets. Conducted shortly after 1 a.m. on May 7, the entire mission concluded within a swift 23 minutes. "Thereafter, they claimed Pakistan retaliated. But can you provide even a single image or photograph showing any damage to India?" Doval questioned during his address at the 62nd convocation ceremony of IIT Madras.

Operation Sindoor was launched in response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, where 26 people, mostly vacationers, lost their lives. Addressing the students, Doval emphasized the critical link between technology and warfare, advocating for the development of indigenous technology to meet national security needs.

During the event, Padma Subrahmanyam—recipient of the Padma Vibhushan award and renowned danseuse—congratulated Doval for the success of Operation Sindoor, prompting enthusiastic applause from the audience. The NSA remarked, "I am immensely proud of Operation Sindoor. Much of it was driven by indigenous content." He continued, "We are proud that our best systems performed, from BrahMos missiles to our integrated air control and command system and battlefield surveillance." He asserted, "We identified nine terrorist targets within the crisscross of Pakistan and missed none."

Doval noted no unintended sites were hit, highlighting the operation's precision. In response to international media questioning the strike's effectiveness, he confidently added, "Satellite images tell the real story—compare the 13 Pakistani airbases before and after May 10." Earlier, Padma Subrahmanyam shared her pride in the operation, linking it to the valor taught by the Bhagavad Gita. "As a proud Indian, I salute our jawans, our national guardian angels," she said, praising Doval's role in the mission.

At the event, Doval further stressed the importance of not lagging in the technological battle, acknowledging the contributions of IIT Madras and the private sector in developing 5G technology. He noted it took only two-and-a-half years, compared to the 12 years and $300 billion expended by China. "Every component related to data or security must originate from a trusted source—either made in India or by an ally," he emphasized, underscoring the importance of protecting national systems from adversaries.
