That seems to be the verdict of majority of companies which participated in the world's largest trial of a '4-day work week'.&nbsp; Most of the 61 companies that participated from June to December say that productivity did not take a hit and that they would continue with a 4-day work week. Companies also said that employees were less stressed and had better work-life balance.&nbsp; What was the study?&nbsp; In June 2022, a think tank based in the UK started a pilot program to test out four-day work weeks in the corporate sector. The study, was conducted by a UK advocacy group called 4-Day Week Global.
What did this study involve?&nbsp; The study involved 2,900 workers from 61 companies across industries in the UK. The program was carried out between June to December 2022. Employees at the participating companies across Britain worked an average of 34 hours across four days between June and December 2022 while earning their current salary.&nbsp; What did the study show? Of the participating 61, 56 companies, or 92 percent, opted to continue with the 4-day work week.&nbsp;
The report published also said that employee stress and burnout significantly declined, with 71 percent of employees reporting lower levels of burnout, 39% reported they were less stressed and 48% were more satisfied with their job as compared to before the trial. Reported anxiety, fatigue and sleep issues decreased, while mental and physical health both experienced improvements.

With a counter that a five-day working pattern is a hangover from an earlier economic age, a total of 100 UK companies have signed up for a permanent four-day working week with no loss of salary payments to their employees.
These 100 companies with 2,600 employees is hoping that they will lead a major shift in Britain's approach to work as the group believes, The Guardian reported.&nbsp;
Atom Bank and the global marketing company Awin, which each have about 450 staff members in the UK, are the two biggest companies that have signed up.&nbsp;

Acknowledging this clash between employeers and employees, Microsoft chief executive Satya Nadella this tension needed to be resolved as workplaces were unlikely to ever return to pre-pandemic work habits.
According to BBC, he further added that currently, most IT firms suffer high attrition rates and are working hard to recruit and retain staff.
A latest Microsoft survey showed disagreement between workers and bosses on the issue of working from home. 87 per cent of bosses say that the workers worked less efficiently from home compared to the office, and 80 per cent of workers said otherwise, as reported by BBC.
At a time of acute labour shortages, employers are having to work harder to recruit, enthuse and retain staff. That even includes Microsoft itself, according to Mr Nadella.

After this, another video about quiet quitting was made by career coach Bryan Creely. In the video, he said that this strategy is not for those who want to climb the corporate ladder but is for those people who don't want to do it and are currently feeling burnt out.&nbsp;
Ever since then, several people started making videos on this trend and also started practising it.&nbsp;
