Say bye to great resignation; shake hands with quiet quitting!

No need to hop on the great resignation wagon, quiet quitting might help you balance life. Here's all you need to know about this trend.

Say bye to great resignation; shake hands with quiet quitting!

quiet quitting trend : #workislife #workisworship #workworkwork Is deja vu hitting you right now? Don't worry no one is coming to haunt you with loads of work. Millennials might have glorified overworking but Gen Zs are here to save you as they are currently following the method of 'work, sleep, and eat' but at their own pace. And they have termed it as #Quietquitting.

This trend has been picked up from TikTok and it clearly mentions about work-life boundaries, cuz honey! you gotta take a break when you gotta take a break. Period.

If you search for #QuietQuitting on any social media platform, then you will come across a number of videos where people are making it clear that they will neither resign amid the Great Resignation nor they will overwork and to be precise once their shift is over, they call it a day!

What is quiet quitting?

It is a Gen Z trend where people are talking about the work-life balance. This trend began with Zaid, who created a video about quiet quitting and in no time, the video went viral.

In the video, he talked about work and said that it is not a person's life. He further said that a person's worth is defined by their productive output.

After this, another video about quiet quitting was made by career coach Bryan Creely. In the video, he said that this strategy is not for those who want to climb the corporate ladder but is for those people who don't want to do it and are currently feeling burnt out.

Ever since then, several people started making videos on this trend and also started practising it.

Is quiet quitting trend healthy?

According to several studies, maintaining a work-life balance can help to boost mental health. Amidst the time, when people got exhausted working from home for 12-16 hours during the pandemic, this trend is giving them some relief as now all they seek is balance in their life.

Other than this, research also suggests that happier employees are more engaged and productive. Quiet quitting trend also helps to remove the negative impact of feeling competitive with peers constantly.

Tip for employers: They should not feel negative about this trend as they too can hop on to this trend wagon and take maximum advantage of this as it will help to encourage a better work-life balance.
