India skipper Uday Saharan admitted that his batters faltered in their execution and paid the price for playing rash shots in a heartbreaking U-19 World Cup final loss against Australia.

Opener Adarsh Singh (47) and number 8 Murugan Abhishek (42) were the only Indian batters who showed the stomach to fight as the title slipped out of their hands.
"We played a few rash shots, couldn't spend more time at the crease. We had prepared, but couldn't execute," said Saharan during the post-match presentation.
While India faltered in the final step, skipper Saharan praised the team for their impressive run in the tournament.
"It was a very good tournament. I am very proud of the boys, they all played very well. They all showed great fighting spirit from the start, very proud of them," he said.
"We got to learn a lot from the start to now. From the coaching staff to the games, learned a lot. Now we just need to keep learning more and move ahead." For Australia it was their fourth U-19 World Cup title.
"It's unbelievable. I am so proud of this group of boys and the coaches. A lot of work has gone in over the last few months," Australia captain Hugh Weibgen said.
"We had fair bit of confidence that if we got 250 on the board, we'd defend it. India, obviously, is a class side, they dominated the whole tournament and they were on the wrong side today but they have a lot of class." Australian bowlers were on the money with Callum Vidler (2/35), Charlie Anderson (1/42), Mahli Beardman (3/15) and Tom Straker (1/32) sharing seven wickets in the final.
"Personally, as a unit they work so well together. They know their roles, they know their jobs. I'll be very surprised if the four of them don't go a long way." Weibgen also heaped praise on Harjas Singh, who top-scored for Australia with 55.
"Form is temporary, class is permanent. Full credit to the coaches for keeping faith in him. We had full faith he could get the job done." Beardman, who was adjudged the player of the match, described it as a "surreal" feeling.
"It's pretty surreal, hasn't fully set in yet. But it's something we've been working towards for a long, long time so the hard work has paid off," he said.
Asked about their plans against India, Beardman said: "They've been incredible and we knew it was going to be a good battle. For me I just wanted to use my short balls and hit the top of off.
"I've been thinking about my bowling, my field settings. Just trying to work on the mental side of the ball." South Africa fast bowler Kwena Maphaka was named the player of the tournament.

Opting to bat, Australia first posted 253 for 7, courtesy Oliver Peake's enterprising 43-ball 46 and Harjas Singh's 55 off 64 balls, and then returned to bowl out the five-time champions for 174 in 43.5 overs.
Australia, thus, became four-time champions.
Chasing 254, opener Adarsh Singh made a 77-ball 47 but India kept losing wickets at regular intervals to collapse to 122 for 8 in 31.5 overs. Number 8 batter Murugan Abhishek (42 off 46 balls) then played an entertaining knock but it was too little and too late.

For Australia, seamer Mahli Beardman (3/15) and off-spinner Raf MacMillan (3/43) did most of the damage. Callum Vidler (2/35) and Charlie Anderson (1/42) were the other wicket-takers.

The duo, who had put together a 200-plus stand against Nepal in the previous match, this time stitched a 171-run alliance that came off just 187 deliveries to seize control.
Needing 19 from 19 balls, India lost two wickets -- Aravelly Avanish (10) and Murugan Abhishek (0) in three balls -- but Saharan kept calm in the company of Raj Lambani (13) who sealed their fifth successive final with a boundary.
The pace duo of Kwena Maphaka (3/32) and Tristan Luus (3/37) were the pick of South Africa bowlers.
Earlier opting to bowl, the Saharan-led side restricted South Africa to 244/7.
Wicketkeeper-batter Lhuan-dre Pretorious (76, 102 balls) top-scored for South Africa opening the batting, while Richard Seletswane made 64 off 100 deliveries in a 72-run stand.
New-ball bowler Raj Limbani (3/60) was the pick of the Indian bowler, while Musheer Khan bagged 2/43. Naman Tiwari and Saumy Pandey took one wicket apiece.

Incidentally, it is India's first-ever ICC title in women's cricket.
The victorious team will reach Mumbai from South Africa on Tuesday and then will head to Ahmedabad on Wednesday for the felicitation ceremony.
The felicitation ceremony will be held on the sidelines of the deciding third and final T20I between India and New Zealand here.&nbsp;

Shafali told ICC that she will look to take the winning confidence and will now shift her focus towards winning the senior World Cup as well.

Not content with the U-19 T20 World Cup triumph, batting sensation Shafali Verma has already set her sights on replicating the success with the senior women's team in less than two weeks' time.
She will get her chance when the Women's T20 World Cup gets underway from February 10 in South Africa, the same country where the country just won the inaugural U-19 world tournament.
Shafali, 19, has already established herself in India's senior side and wants to make the visit to South Africa even more memorable with another silverware.
"No, the big one also," Shafali said when asked if the U-19 trophy was the only one she was hoping to take back from South Africa.
"I am someone who focuses on task at hand. When I entered the Under-19s, I only focused on winning the Under-19 Cup and we have won that today (Sunday).
"I will look to take this winning confidence with me and win the senior World Cup. I will try and forget this and get involved with the senior setup and gel with the team and win the World Cup," she was quoted as saying by the ICC.
India on Sunday won their maiden ICC title in women's cricket as a bunch of supremely talented teenagers lifted the inaugural U-19 World Cup with a seven-wicket victory over England.
The Shafali-led India squad managed to do what their seniors could not by clearing the final hurdle in a global event.
India first bundled out England for 68 in 17.1 overs and then returned to knock off the paltry target in 14 overs to lift the coveted trophy.
Shafali was part of India's squad that fell at the final hurdle at the 2020 T20 World Cup, when Australia defeated the side by 85 runs in front of more than 85,000 fans at the MCG.
She said she still feels the pain from the loss.
"Melbourne was a very emotional day for me in that final game, we didn't win the game," Shafali recalled.
"When I joined the Under-19 team, I'm just thinking, 'you know, we have to win this Cup.' I'm just telling all the girls, 'We have to win this Cup, we are here for the Cup.' "We had lost the World Cup and it was tears of sadness. Today, they were tears of happiness because we achieved what we came here for.
"I tried controlling it but it couldn't happen. I will look at this as a big achievement and look to use this to learn something more. I will try to score more runs for India and am not going to be satisfied with this Cup. This is just the beginning.
