After TV actor Juhi Parmar, singer Sona Mohapatra expressed her disappointment after watching director Greta Gerwig&rsquo;s film, &lsquo;Barbie&rsquo;. Taking to Twitter, the singer wrote, &lsquo;Can&rsquo;t believe I went to a theatre after eons &amp; subjected myself to an unbearable, terrible #Barbie . That there were a bunch of desi Barbies talking loudly through the film was additional torture. Only redeeming factor was the well appointed ,lux 40 odd seater cinema in Jio Drive.&rsquo; The singer&rsquo;s post received mixed reactions from her followers. A section of netizens advised her to find out more about the film before going for it. &lsquo;Barbie&rsquo; stars Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling. The movie had the biggest opening of the year at the international box office. Earlier, actor Juhi Parmar also wrote a long post, criticizing the film. She shared that she walked out of the theatre with her daughter within 15 minutes of the film. &lsquo;Dear Barbie, I start with owning up to my mistake, I took my 10 year old daughter Samairra to watch your film without researching the fact that it was a &ldquo;PG-13&Prime; movie. 10 minutes into the movie, inappropriate language, sexual connotations and I was anxiously running out of the theater wondering what had I just exposed my child to. She had been waiting to watch your film and here I was just shocked, disappointed and heartbroken with what I had just exposed her to,&rsquo; she wrote. She wrote against the actor after presumably watching a video where she stops singing mid-track after hearing azaan (a call for prayer in Islam). Sona tweeted that Shehnaaz&rsquo;s act reminded her of the time when she stood by Sajid Khan on national television and wished him all the best.
Her post read, &lsquo;All the twitter adulation for #ShehnaazGiII&rsquo;s act of &lsquo;respect&rsquo; today reminded me of her &lsquo;support&rsquo;, &lsquo;reverence&rsquo; &amp; &lsquo;glorification&rsquo; of a multiple accused sex offender &amp; pervert #SajjidKhan when he was platformed on National TV. A few days back, Delhi Commission for Women also protested Sajid&rsquo;s participation and wrote a letter to Information and Broadcasting minister Anurag Thakur, demanding Sajid&rsquo;s ouster.
However, Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) came out in support of the filmmaker and in a letter to Anurag Thakur, they said that Sajid has the right to survive and earn his living as he has served the punishment.&nbsp;

Singers Neha Kakkar and Falguni Pathak have been making headlines over the last one week. It all started after the release of Neha’s track ‘O Sajna’, a remix of Falguni’s 1999 hit song ‘Maine Payal Hai Chhankai’. 
A few days ago, Falguni shared screenshots of fans slamming Neha’s version of the track on Instagram. Neha, too, responded to all the hatred that she received on social media. 
Now, in an unexpected twist, the singers will be seen together on the singing reality show ‘Indian Idol 13’. A promo shared by Sony TV shows Neha welcoming ‘legendary Falguni ma’am’ to the show and dancing along with co-jury panel member Himesh Reshammiya, and host Aditya Narayan. 
However, it is reported that this episode was shot prior to the ongoing war of words. 
According to Hindustan Times, a source close to the show revealed that the episode was shot during the auditions round in August. 
‘The timing is all coincidental. They shot the chunk for Navratri. In fact, at that time, Neha and Falguni were quite cordial. Currently, Neha doesn’t even wish to talk about Falguni and was quite clear that she won’t promote the particular episode or talk about what it was like to have Falguni on the sets,’ the source close was quoted as saying. 
Falguni’s team also told Hindustan Times that the shoot took place on August 20.
Singer Sona Mohapatra took to Twitter on Monday and countered claims of social media users who called ongoing feud of Falguni and Neha a ‘publicity stunt.’ 
‘& why are people so silly that they’re buying into the PR release of a reality show trying to ride the #FalguniPathak news cycle & discredit her reaction as a publicity stunt? Don’t they know that such shows record episodes much in advance & she must not have a clue then?’, Sona tweeted. 
Dhanashree Verma and Priyank Sharma, who feature in the music video of Neha Kakkar’s ‘O Sajna’, have defended the song. 
Talking to Mid-Day, Dhanashree said that she finds Neha's version even better than the original. 
Dhanashree Verma told Mid-day, ‘We all love this song. We have grown up listening to this song. We still listen to this song every year. When we found out it is being recreated we both got very excited because we know the song is loved by everyone and it will be loved even further if you recreate it. The way our composers Tanishk (Bagchi) Neha, and Jaani, all these guys together, they just made it even better. They have amply justified what they had to.’
Priyank Sharma added, ‘The first time I heard this song, it took me exactly 45-50 seconds to say yes. It's an iconic song already and the way they have made it again is commendable. They justified the iconicness of the previous one for real. I was very excited.’

Singer Neha Kakkar&rsquo;s latest song &lsquo;O Sajna&rsquo;, which is a remix of Falguni Pathak&rsquo;s iconic song &lsquo;Maine Payal Hai Chhankai&rsquo;, has received a lot of criticism on social media. Now, singer Sona Mohapatra has voiced her opinion on the same. Taking to Twitter, she spoke about &lsquo;music labels and Bollywood film producers killing the creative community&rsquo;&nbsp;
She added that writers have destroyed the fabric of what made Bollywood music culturally relevant by &lsquo;showcasing of a lack of courage to back new compositions, songwriters, and disrespecting creators.&rsquo;&nbsp;
Post the release of <a href="https://www.editorji.com/entertainment-news/bollywood/after-maine-payal-hai-chhankai-remix-row-neha-kakkar-falguni-pathak-to-appear-on-indian-idol-13-1664175413055">Neha Kakkar&rsquo;</a>s &lsquo;O Sajna', Falguni reshared angry fans' posts on her Instagram Stories. In a recent interview with Delhi Times, the singer also mentioned that she &lsquo;almost puked&rsquo; when she first heard the remake and stated that the original song's innocence has been ruined.
Neha Kakkar had also addressed the backlash through social media posts.
However, despite the ongoing war of words between the singers, Sony TV released a promo clip from the upcoming episode of the singing reality show &lsquo;Indian Idol season 13&rsquo;. In the video, Neha welcomed &lsquo;legendary Falguni ma&rsquo;am' on the show. The duo will be sharing the stage during the garba night on the show.

Singer Sona Mohapatra condemned the protests outside Ujjain’s Mahakaleshwar temple against ‘Brahmastra’ actors Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. Taking to Twitter, she expressed her concern that the country might descend into ‘mob rule’. She slammed the protesters and said that they were setting a ‘sick and dangerous’ precedent and there was nothing heroic about their act. 
Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt were scheduled to visit the Mahakaleshwar temple on Tuesday along with director Ayan Mukerji. Members of Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad staged protests against them over Ranbir’s old comment on eating beef, a video of which recently resurfaced online.  
Ayan had shared his thoughts on the incident during a media interaction in Delhi. He said ‘I had gone to Mahakaleshwar temple before my motion poster released. And, I had told myself that I would definitely come here before the release of my film. And, both Ranbir and Alia were keen to come with me. But, when we reached there and heard about this, I felt bad about what happened there. And, then I told Ranbir and Alia to let me go alone. I went there to seek blessings and energy for the film.’ 
‘Brahmastra’ is backed by Dharma Productions. It also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna and Mouni Roy in pivotal roles. The film is scheduled to release on Friday (September 9).

In 2019, Salman made a derogatory comment on Priyanka, saying she quit the 'biggest film of her career' to marry singer-actor Nick Jonas while people usually leave their husbands to grab such an opportunity. Sona had then tweeted that 'Priyanka has better things to do in life, real men to hang out with and girls to inspire with her journey.'
Talking to ETimes, Sona mentioned that she went through the 'most hideous trolling, including death threats for calling out Salman for his misogyny and statements. Her ordeal continued for two months and later the Minister of Women and Child Welfare had to launch a campaign for better safety of women and children online. Sona further added that she received 'gang rape threats' and her morphed pictures were put up on porn sites. 
The singer earlier criticised the actor for his statement where he compared himself to a 'raped' woman while talking about the exhausting shoot of 'Sultan.' Sona slammed Salman once again after he requested his fans to support Sushant Singh Rajput's fans and family.
Sona Mohapatra is currently awaiting the release of her documentary, 'Shut up Sona.' It will release on Zee5 on July 1.
