However, according to experts cold shower in winters causes blood vessels to contract, raising blood pressure which increases risk of heart attack or stroke.&nbsp;
According to Dr Sudhir Kumar, Cardiologist said that sudden immersion in cold water can cause myocardial infarction. The rate of occurrence of paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (AF) varies by season and is greatest during winter and least in summer. And, AF is a common risk factor for stroke, especially in older people and people with high blood pressure.&nbsp;
He had shared a post on X (then Twitter) saying that he had once come across a 68 year old patient who had a right sided weakness and inability to talk for 26 hours follwoing a cold water bath.
So, doctors suggests that if you're considering cold showers, start with lukewarm water and gradually decrease the temperature to allow your body to adapt.
