Her comments followed her earlier criticism of former India captain Rohit Sharma&rsquo;s fitness.

The remarks came shortly after the BCCI revealed the India A squads for two upcoming four-day matches against South Africa A, scheduled at the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru. The first match will take place from October 30 to November 2, with the second scheduled for November 6 to 9.
Despite Sarfaraz Khan&rsquo;s strong domestic performances, he was overlooked in both squads, prompting discussions among fans and cricket analysts. The 27-year-old made his Test debut under Rohit Sharma against England at home in February last year. Since then, he has amassed 371 runs in six Tests at an average of 37.10, with a strike rate of 74.94, including a century and three fifties, and a highest score of 150. His last appearance for India was against New Zealand at Wankhede in November last year.
In first-class cricket, Sarfaraz has compiled 2,467 runs in 56 matches at an average of 65.19, including 16 centuries and 15 half-centuries, with a strike rate of 70.99. Over the past five years, his domestic form has been particularly strong, boasting an average of 117.47, yet he was still overlooked for the Australia tour. This has led many to speculate on his limited prospects of returning to the Indian Test team.

India's newest batting star Sarfaraz Khan and wicketkeeper-batter Dhruv Jurel were inducted into Group C of BCCI's central contract list with an annual retainership fee of Rs 1 crore, having fulfilled the criteria of playing 3 Tests in a current season.
Their names were ratified during BCCI Apex Council meeting which was held on Monday.
Sarfaraz, a domestic heavyweight for Mumbai, scored three half-centuries in three Tests against England while Agra man Jurel, with scores of 90 and 39 not out in a tricky chase at Ranchi, won the Player of the Match in only his second game.
Ratification of central contract was on the agenda and both have made the cut.
Ranji Trophy scheduling 
The BCCI is likely to revisit the Ranji Trophy calender for the next season and will not schedule any matches in the northern part of India during the months of December and January, when fog and bad light often play spoilsport.
While the detailed domestic calender will be announced later, the BCCI Apex Council did discuss the tentative schedule of the 2024-25, which was one of the primary items in the eight-point agenda of the Apex Council meeting on the day.
For the past few seasons, the Ranji Trophy is starting in January and ending in second week of March and in north-Indian cities like Delhi, Chandigarh, Kanpur, Meerut, Jammu, Dharamsala, most matches are being affected by bad light and fog during peak winter months.
"No decision has been taken yet but Ranji Trophy, like earlier years could start from mid or end October after the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, which serves as an IPL auction platform. Some states are losing crucial points in do-or-die games because of inclement weather from mid-December to mid February," a senior BCCI source told PTI.
It has been also learnt that BCCI will form a committee, which will decide whether union territory Daman &amp; Diu get associate membership.
Foreign boards can't talk to state bodies directly for exposure trips
A lot of ICC associate member nations like Nepal want to come for exposure trips to India and play practice games against some of the state sides. In fact the Nepal team, which will play the T20 World Cup in the USA and the West Indies, are supposed to train in the national capital and also plan to play a few T20 matches against Gujarat, Baroda in a three-team tournament called Friendship Cup.
However BCCI's Apex Council made it clear that any affiliated state unit will need NOC from the parent body before they can host any international team.

India set a target of 557 runs for England on a placid pitch with more than four sessions left in the game. However, the visitors folded inside 40 overs for 122 to give India a 2-1 lead in the series.
&ldquo;We have won a lot of matches on such wickets before. The turning tracks and on pitches where the ball turns remain our strength. It gives us balance,&rdquo; Rohit told the media here.
&ldquo;We have given results for many years and we will get results in the future as well. But we don't have control over certain things &mdash; we don't discuss whether we want rank turners or not. We come here (at the venues) two days before the match and how much can we do anyway in two days? &ldquo;The curators decide and make the pitch. We have the strength to play on any wicket and win on it. When we won the Test in South Africa (at Cape Town), everyone knows what kind of wicket it was,&rdquo; he said.
Rohit said the Indian team has found a way through all conditions witnessed in the first three Tests.
&ldquo;(In) the last three Tests we played, there were different challenges. In the first Test (Hyderabad), the ball was spinning and the pitch was slow. In Vizag, it was (keeping) low. As the game progressed, the wicket became slower. Here, it played well for the first three days.
&ldquo;Today, we saw that the ball was turning and it was low. This is (in) the nature (of pitches), we get pitches like these in India. But if we get rank turners, we will play on them as well,&rdquo; Rohit added.
Rohit said Ravindra Jadeja, who scored a century (112) in the first innings and bowled a match-winning spell of 5/41, thrived in conditions that he understood well.
&ldquo;We've seen him over the years, he understands the conditions really well. He knows exactly what his game is,&rdquo; Rohit said.
&ldquo;Here, he is no different. This is his hometown so more than anyone else, he knows these conditions better.
&ldquo;If you see the past couple of years, he's actually come out and scored some crucial runs for us. Whether it's in India or outside India as well. He's batting really well and the confidence is there with the bat, which is why we thought of sending him up the order as well (in the first innings),&rdquo; Rohit added.
The India skipper said Sarfaraz Khan has acquired enough experience in domestic cricket that the team management did not feel the need to have discussed any plans with him before he made his debut here.
&ldquo;I haven't seen Sarfaraz bat that much. But all the people I've heard from, the players who are from Mumbai, (that) he&rsquo;s made runs in a lot of difficult situations for Mumbai,&rdquo; Rohit said.
&ldquo;He's hungry for runs and for the last 4-5 years, he's continuously made runs in domestic cricket, so (that means) he's doing something good,&rdquo; Rohit said.
&ldquo;We didn't discuss any plans with him. Because I know that if you let him be, he'll do his your job, which I've heard from the players from Mumbai,&rdquo; he added.
Rohit said England batters have played their strokes even off good balls over the last three Tests, which has forced the Indian bowlers to be very disciplined with their line and lengths.
&ldquo;Ollie) Pope got that 190-odd (in series opener), he was very much in control and played shots off some really good balls,&rdquo; Rohit said.
&ldquo;When the batter is doing that, obviously the plan is very simple to keep it nice and tight. (It is important to) follow the plans that have been discussed. These guys have bowled a lot in these conditions, they exactly know how to keep coming back into the game,&rdquo; he added.

After much criticism of Sarfaraz Khan's non-selection in the Test squad for the West Indies series, a BCCI official has revealed reasons behind the selectors' much speculated move.&nbsp; "The angry reactions are understandable but I can tell you with some degree of certainty that the reason behind Sarfaraz getting ignored time and again is not just cricketing one. There are multiple reasons for which he hasn't been considered," a BCCI official privy to selection developments told news agency PTI on conditions of anonymity. From Sunil Gavaskar to Wasim Jaffer and several cricket enthusiasts have strongly criticised BCCI's move to leave out Khan, who has repeatedly produced excellent figures in the domestic circuit.&nbsp; The Mumbai batter scored 2566 runs in the last three Ranji seasons. He scored 928 runs in the 2019/20 season, 982 in the 2022-23 and 656 in the 2022-23 season.
"Are the selectors fools to not consider a player who has scored 900 plus runs in successive seasons? One of the reason is his fitness which isn't exactly of international standard,' the BCCI official claimed.&nbsp;
They added, 'He has to work hard, maybe shed weight and comeback leaner and fitter as it's not just batting fitness that is sole criteria for selection.'&nbsp; But his fitness is not the only issue, according to the BCCI official.&nbsp; 'His conduct on and off the field hasn't exactly been top notch. Certain things said, certain gestures made and some incidents have been taken note of. A bit more disciplined approach would only do him a world of good. Hopefully, Sarfaraz along with his father and coach Naushad Khan will work on those aspects,' they said.&nbsp;
