According to Hindustan Times, Johnny Lever spoke about the late comedian at the prayer meet and said that his demise is a &lsquo;huge loss for stand-up comedy&rsquo;.
&lsquo;Raju's struggle days started with me. We have family relations, and we are neighbours as well. So you can imagine how much grief I am in. We have lost a great artist, he would have made people laugh for many more years, but he suddenly died. It's a huge loss for stand-up comedy,&rsquo; he said.&nbsp;

Comedian-actor Raju Srivastava passed away on Wednesday in New Delhi. He was admitted to AIIMS on August 10 after suffering a heart attack. He will be cremated on Thursday, September 22.
In an interview with ETimes, Raju’s wife Shikha Srivastava, who has been inconsolable, called him a ‘true fighter’ and said she was really hoping and praying to see him come out of this. 
Over the last two months, Raju Srivastava's nephew Kushal Srivastava and family friend Dr Aneel had frequently been visiting him. 
Kushal told ETimes that Raju Srivastava passed away due to a second cardiac arrest. He said, ‘We were confident till yesterday that all will be well because he had battling it for two months.’
Dr Aneel Morarka said that the comedian lived a life that they are proud of and he prays that he will find peace and comfort where he is.
Comedian Kapil Sharma took to Instagram and penned an emotional message for late comedian Raju Srivastava. Sharing a picture with Raju from the sets of ‘The Kapil Sharma show’, he wrote, ‘You have made me cry for the first time Raju bhai, I wish if could meet you for one last time. May God bless you. You will be remembered a lot. Goodbye, Om shanti).’

In the 80s, Raju Srivastava shifted to Mumbai from Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, to fulfill his dreams. His initial days were full of struggle and he began driving a taxi to make ends meet. 
Raju did brief roles in films like ‘Tezaab’ (1988), ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’ (1989) and ‘Baazigar’ (1993) to survive in the Maximum city. 
He got his first break in 1994 after he bagged the show ‘Tea Time Manoranjan’ on Doordarshan. He then went on to feature in TV series ‘Shaktimaan’ as Dhurandhar Singh. He was part of the show from 1998 to 2005.
Raju Srivastava gained recognition after he featured in the first season of ‘The Great Indian Laughter Challenge’ in 2005. His character Gajodhar Bhaiya was loved by all. However, Sunil Pal was the winner of the comedy reality show, while Raju was the second runner-up. 
Nearly four years after appearing on ‘The Great Indian Laughter Challenge’, Raju Srivastava was seen as a contestant on ‘Bigg Boss 3’, which was hosted by megastar Amitabh Bachchan. He also participated in ‘Nach Baliye’ season 6 with his wife, Shikha Srivastava, which was judged by Shilpa Shetty, Sajid Khan and Terrence Lewis. The couple was eliminated in the seventh week.

He had an amazing sense of humour and would often entertain everyone. I still recall the days when we did The Great Indian Laughter Challenge. He was, is and will always remain the king of stand-up comedy,’ he added.
Sunil Pal mentioned that he had met Raju two weeks before the unfortunate incident. ‘We met at his office and I was accompanied by an aspiring comedian. Raju bhai asked him to perform and he really loved his comedy. He gave him a monetary reward and also encouraged him to pursue the career.
