Rai believes that an &lsquo;A&rsquo; rating from CBFC kept his target audience, the families, away from the cinema halls. In an interview with DNA, he said, &ldquo;If it wasn&rsquo;t an A-certificate film, then maybe it would have been neck and neck with Gadar 2, minting money at the box office because families would have come for it.&rdquo;&nbsp;
Rai said the 'A' rating killed half of his audience but now he wants the &lsquo;bygones be bygones&rsquo;. &ldquo;The censor board hurt me financially too and in terms of content as well.&rdquo; There were around 27 changes suggested by the CBFC for the film. &nbsp;
Rai also shared that he sent many messages to CBFC Chief Prasoon Joshi as well but his requests were not heard. &ldquo;I remember clearly that I folded my hands. I told them that you are doing the wrong thing because if this film goes on OTT&hellip;&rdquo; he told Bollywood Hungama.&nbsp;
&lsquo;OMG 2&rsquo; tells the story of a father and son who have to battle the social taboos so that the teenagers can learn about sex education. &nbsp;&nbsp;

Veteran actor Anupam Kher watched Akshay Kumar and Pankaj Tripathi starrer 'OMG 2' with his mother Dulari on August 20.
Soon after watching the film, he posted his review on social media. The actor shared that the cinema hall was full and he saw parents with their teenage kids.
Anupam Kher called 'OMG 2' a 'spectacular, stylish and very important film of our times'.He went on to praise director Amit Rai and the cast. He also revealed that his mother was impressed by Akshay's look as Lord Shiva.
He wrote, 'Just finished watching #OMG2. Spectacular, stylish &amp; a very important film of our times. A film on #SexEducation with ease and wonderful aesthetics! It was houseful. Saw parents with their teenage children. Obviously the film has struck a chord with the audiences!'
He added, 'Full marks to writer/director #AmitRai. @TripathiiPankaj is BRILLIANT. He makes acting look easy but I know there is huge preparation behind it. @yamigautam is beautifully sharp &amp; excellent. I loved #PavanMalhotra as the judge. Akshay Kumar reacted to Anupam's post and wrote that he's glad he had a good time.
Akshay retweeted his post and wrote, 'Thank you so much my friend, so glad you had a good time. It&rsquo;s all thanks to team effort and we&rsquo;re grateful to our audiences for their unending love and support (folded hands emoticon).'
Anupam also mentioned Sunny Deol whose film 'Gadar 2' was released alongside 'OMG 2'. He wrote, 'It is an amazing feeling to see that the magic of actors of 90s @iamsunnydeol @iamsrk @akshaykumar is limitless. Jai Ho!'

Actor Govind Namdev, who plays Pujari in Akshay Kumar starrer &lsquo;OMG 2&rsquo;, has slammed the Central Board of Film Certification for giving his film an Adult certification.
In a Facebook post, He urged the CBFC to reconsider its decision of assigning A certificate to a film targeted towards teenagers. He wrote, &lsquo;OMG, O MY GOD is released finally with 24 Censor cuts and senseless A certificate so that teenagers should not see the movie for whom the movie is made, And Censor has passed it!&rsquo;
He then compared &lsquo;OMG 2's struggle with CBFC to that of &lsquo;Adipurush's.
&lsquo;Jo dimaag censor board ko Adipurush jaisi behuda film mein lagana chahiye tha wo unhone &lsquo;Oh My God&rdquo; jaisi thoughtful aur progressive film ko kaatne kootne mein kharch kar diya! Waah (CBFC should've applied some brain while assessing a pathetic film like Adipurush. Ahead of its release, the CBFC gave a long list of modifications to the &lsquo;OMG 2&rsquo; team where they were asked to remove ads of condoms, frontal nudity shots of Naga Sadhus, and visuals of what is being described as &lsquo;sculptures of unnatural sex&rsquo; among others. Ranbir Kapoor starrer &lsquo;Animal&rsquo; and &lsquo;Gadar 2&rsquo;, starring Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel, is also scheduled to release in cinemas on Independence Day weekend. Akshay Kumar was last seen in &lsquo;Selfiee&rsquo; alongside Emraan Hashmi, Nushrratt Bharuccha and Diana Penty. The movie, which was a remake of the Malayalam film &lsquo;Driving License&rsquo;, failed to impress the audience and tanked at the box office.
