In a candid interview with PTI, Siddiqui shared, "It's very difficult for me to make myself presentable and stand out. But I feel very good that I am sitting in a corner and no one is looking at me... rather, I'm observing others. I feel the world is a 70mm film, and I'm watching it."
From his humble beginnings in Budhana, Muzaffarnagar, to the esteemed corridors of Delhi's National School of Drama, and finally to the bustling streets of Mumbai, Siddiqui&rsquo;s journey is the stuff of dreams. He migrated from a life spent watching C-grade films in his hometown to being introduced to world cinema at drama school, bypassing mainstream Bollywood in the process.
Now 50, Siddiqui approaches each role as a fresh challenge. His latest venture on ZEE5 sees him portraying Costao Fernandes, a former customs officer with a story rooted in reality. However, if Siddiqui had to choose one of his roles as a travel companion, it would be the unassuming tourist photographer from Ritesh Batra's "Photograph". "I like such characters who get lost in the crowd," he explained.
This philosophy runs counter to the typical actor's ambition of being noticed. "I don't want it. My aim is to not stand out even in real life," Siddiqui stated, a sentiment echoed by his colleague Manoj Bajpayee, who notes Siddiqui&rsquo;s ability to blend seamlessly into crowds.
Siddiqui has tackled a diverse range of roles, portraying characters across the moral spectrum. From the controversial to the revered, his performances in "Manto", "Thackeray", and "Raman Raghav 2.0" speak to his commitment to complex narratives. "I don't want to be fixed in a certain kind of image," he said. "The characters which are close to real people are more fun to do."
His ability to flit between roles and personas keeps the craft exciting. "If I keep repeating myself, I will get bored. As an actor, you should be prepared for an exam every day."

Aaliya, who recently posted a family photo celebrating their 14th wedding anniversary, confirmed their reconciliation. She emphasized the importance of sharing their joy on social media and mentioned Nawazuddin's visit to Dubai for their anniversary. Aaliya acknowledged past issues involving a third person but noted that they've since resolved their differences. She highlighted their children as the main reason for reconciliation, stating there's no option but to stay together as they grow up.
Speaking with ETimes, Aaliya said, &lsquo;In recent times, a few things have changed in my life. I felt that when we shared bad things with the world, we should also share the good ones. I feel what&rsquo;s good should also be seen. Nawaz was also here so we celebrated the anniversary with the kids.&rsquo;
Aaliya continued, &lsquo;I feel the problem we faced in our relationship were always because of a third person. But now that misunderstanding is out of our lives. Because of our kids, we&rsquo;ve completely surrendered.&rsquo;
She added, &lsquo;There&rsquo;s no option of being apart in life now, because the kids are also growing up. Also, Nawaz is very close to Shora and she was very disturbed after whatever happened. The film was earlier supposed to be released on February 2 but now it's release has been pushed to May 2024. 'Section 108's producers Ankit Kumar Pandey and RJ Mahavesh from Cinemawala released a statement about the change in the date. &nbsp;
The statement said: &ldquo;We have decided to postpone the release of the movie to May end -tentatively. Our actor&rsquo;s dates couldn&rsquo;t match the schedule and some locations were not available as well. And we were not ready to compromise with the quality at any cost. Finally, we are on floor for our final schedule and are all set to release in May end.&rdquo;&nbsp;
&lsquo;Section 108&rsquo; is written and directed by Rasikh Khan and produced by Cinemawala and Three Arrows Productions. It also stars Regina Cassandra, Aasif Khan, Rumi Khan, Saanand Verma and Alishaa Ohri&nbsp;

He further said that nobody has depression in his village, and there is no such thing as depression there. But the data from his state suggests otherwise:
Well, Nawazuddin Siddiqui is from Budhana village in Muzaffarnagar district, Uttar Pradesh. And, as per the National Crime Records Bureau of India's 2014 data, 1.6% of farmer suicides were alone registered in Uttar Pradesh. Other than this, 3.6% of suicide took place in Uttar Pradesh from 2017 to 2021.

A Kolkata-based lawyer objected to the Bengali version of the new Sprite ad and said, &lsquo;The main advertisement by Coca-Cola for its product Sprite was in Hindi. And we have no problems with that. We only have a problem with Bengali dubbing of the ad which is running on various TV channels and websites. On Twitter, Sprite India wrote in Bengali, &lsquo;We deeply regret our recent Bengali ad campaign for Sprite and are withdrawing this unintentional mistake from the Bengali media immediately. Along with their mother Zainab Siddiqui alias Aaliya and lawyer Riswan Siddiquee, the children were present in the chamber of the judges on April 3. <a href="https://www.editorji.com/entertainment-news/bollywood/nawazuddin-siddiqui-willing-to-settle-legal-issues-with-ex-wife-aaliya-if-allowed-to-meet-kids-report-1679651606629">Nawazuddin</a> couldn&rsquo;t appear in court as he was stuck due to some issues related to his international flight, his advocate Adnan Shaikh stated. However, the issue was discussed with him online by the bench of Justices Revati Mohite Dere and Sharmila Deshmukh.
The bench is hearing a habeas corpus petition filed by Nawazuddin seeking that his children be brought before the court. In his plea, he said that his kids&rsquo; school from UAE informed him that they are not attending school, and he was unaware of their whereabouts. According to the actor, Zainab is a permanent resident of the UAE.
Nawazuddin and Aaliya tied the knot in 2010 and had a khulanama (divorce) a year later. They have two children, who are also UAE citizens and live there. The actor has claimed that he sends Rs 10 lakh every month for their welfare.

Rizwan Siddiquee, Aaliya's lawyer, received the settlement draft from the actor's legal team on March 25. Speaking with Hindustan Times, he said, &lsquo;We want to keep the terms on settlement private. The settlement is regarding a lot of other things, not just the custody of the Children. The custody was always with my client and will remain to be with her as she is the biological mother of the children. Also, the children have been with my client since giving birth. There should be no dispute regarding child custody, especially given the busy schedule Mr. Nawaz has.&rsquo;
He added, &lsquo;Through his lawyers, Mr. Nawazuddin Siddiqui has already sent me a draft proposal of terms for settlement. The said draft was sent to me on the 25th of March 2023. It is a positive step that they are trying to settle the matter amicably. We shall be closing the matter soon if all issues are closed in the interest of all parties concerned, especially the minor children. It is always a moment to appreciate when the parties involved don&rsquo;t want to fight and settle, especially in matrimonial matters.&rsquo;
Earlier this week, Nawazuddin had filed a defamation case against Aaliya and his brother Shamasuddin Siddiqui. The actor demanded ₹100 crores and an apology letter. Nawazuddin and Aaliya have had ugly public fights for a long time now, with Aaliya claiming that Nawazuddin &lsquo;disowned&rsquo; their children. Later, the actor also reacted to the claims saying that his wife only wants money, which was denied by Aaliya.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui and his wife Aaliya have now decided to resolve matters weeks after being in the headlines for their ugly public spat. Speaking with ETimes, Aaliya confirmed that the actor has reached out for a settlement, but they will be fighting for the custody of their children.
Aaliya told ETimes, &lsquo;Divorce will happen, that&rsquo;s for sure and I will also be fighting for the custody of both my kids. Nawaz has also filed for custody but I will not let that happen. Both my kids want to stay with me and don&rsquo;t want to live with him.&rsquo;
She also shared that she is currently staying in a rented apartment, but she has been asked to vacate soon. &lsquo;I had to vacate by March 30, but I requested for a one month extension as I am unable to find another accommodation. Societies are refusing to give me property on rent because of this dispute,&rsquo; she said.
A few days back, Nawazuddin filed a defamation case against his brother Shamasuddin Siddiqui and Aaliya, demanding ₹100 crore and an apology letter.
In March, Aaliya had claimed she was thrown out of Nawazuddin&rsquo;s Mumbai house late at night, along with their kids Shora and Yaani. She has also alleged that the actor is an irresponsible father, claiming that he had sent away their minor daughter alone with his &lsquo;male manager&rsquo; who hugged her &lsquo;multiple times in an inappropriate manner&rsquo;.
The actor&rsquo;s mother has also filed a complaint against Aaliya over a property dispute.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui has several films in the pipeline including Kangana Raanaut's &lsquo;Tiku Weds Sheru&rsquo;, &lsquo;Bole Chudiyan&rsquo; and &lsquo;Jogira Sara Ra Ra&rsquo;.

Shikhar Khandelwal, the advocate appearing for Nawazuddin&rsquo;s estranged wife, said that the petition was infructuous because when it was filed Aaliya and the two children were living in a bungalow owned by the actor's mother. &lsquo;My client is willing to settle the matter. But when she is living with the children at the actor's mother's residence, then how is it possible that he does not know where they are? He is very much free to meet his children. He is the one who is not meeting them,&rsquo; Khandelwal said.
Earlier, Nawazuddin&rsquo;s ex-wife Aaliya Siddiqui released a video claiming that her mother-in-law had kicked her and the children out of the house and they have nowhere to go. Later, Nawaz released a statement claiming that Aaliya 'only wants more money'.
In the statement that Nawazuddin posted on Instagram, he wrote, &lsquo;I am termed as a bad guy everywhere because of my silence. The reason I have kept quiet is because all this tamasha (show) will somewhere be read by my small children. This comes after the actor moved High Court with a habeas corpus petition seeking direction from his estranged wife &nbsp;Zainab to reveal the whereabouts of their daughter and son.

Nawazuddin's lawyer Pradeep Thorat told Court that the actor is unaware of the whereabouts of children and their school in Dubai has given a warning to rusticate them as they haven't been attending classes.

Zainab has been asked to inform the Court by next week about what has been decided about the children's education.
