<p>Shubman Gill led the way with a fluent 112 while Virat Kohli (52) and Shreyas Iyer (78) also cashed in on ideal conditions in their last outing before the Champions Trophy, helping India set a 357-run target against England in third and final match in Ahmedabad on Wednesday.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Gill anchored India's innings en route to his seventh ODI ton &mdash; 112 off 104 balls (14x4s, 3x6s) which also took his average past 60 in the format &mdash; while putting on two century stands with Kohli and Iyer to consolidate for India, who finished at 356 all-out.&nbsp;</p>
<p>The India vice-captain Gill also achieved the unique feat of scoring a century each across the three international formats at the same venue. Gill, meanwhile, has also scored an IPL hundred here at the Narendra Modi Stadium.</p>
<p>Attacking the fast bowlers and spinners alike, Gill's knock was replete with rich strokes particularly down the ground. The opener displayed immaculate footwork at the crease early on to take the attack to the opposition and remained resolute to score off spin, until he was cleaned up by Adil Rashid (4/64).&nbsp;</p>
<p>On his part, Kohli took his time to find the rhythm and when he did, the batting mainstay looked hitting his strides. Kohli made the most of a juicy overpitched delivery from Mark Wood which he drove through the covers for his first four, then got on top of the ball from Saqib Mahmood to swat it for another boundary through mid-wicket and punished the England pacer for being wayward as he cut him for his third four.</p>
<p>While his stroke play was compelling in the run-a-ball fifty for his 73rd half-century, there were elements of struggle against England leg-spinner Adil Rashid. When Kohli was on 38, he survived a leg-before appeal as an attempted flick was missed and the ball had crashed into his pads.&nbsp;</p>
<p>The replays showed the ball had pitched just outside the line of leg-stump. But Rashid continued to have wood over Kohli as soon after he raised his bat for fifty, the England spinner had him caught behind on a loopy delivery which turned away and took an edge before settling in the wicketkeeper&rsquo;s gloves.&nbsp;</p>
<p>This was the fifth time Rashid has dismissed Kohli in ODIs. Kohli was stranded 37 runs short of becoming only the third batter ever to make 14,000 ODI runs, missing a personal landmark like his teammate Rohit Sharma earlier in the innings. It is expected to be completed during Champions Trophy.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Coming off a terrific century in second ODI, Rohit Sharma (1) could not even get a start as a delivery from Wood which was angled in, straightened enough to take the outside edge and Phil Salt collected a sharp catch.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Iyer only had himself to blame for missing out on a triple-digit score after he was caught behind on a delivery fired down the leg stump by Rashid, one that he needlessly chased and edged. Hardik Pandya (17) hit a couple of sixes before perishing off Rashid and KL Rahul also stroked his way to a quick 29-ball 40 towards the end.</p>

<p>This event, which sold 1.3 lakh tickets, was India&rsquo;s largest-ever concert and marked a significant milestone for the live concert industry. People from across the country and beyond traveled to witness this spectacular show, contributing to a surge in tourism and local economy.&nbsp;</p>
<p>The event was a result of impeccable coordination between the Gujarat government, local authorities, and concert organizers.</p>
<p>Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, the Gujarat government provided crucial support to ensure a smooth and successful event. They ensured top-tier security, seamless traffic management, and efficient transportation for attendees. Local authorities, including the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation and police, played an integral role in maintaining the event&rsquo;s logistics and safety.</p>

<p>Prime Minister Narendra Modi acknowledged the importance of the concert, saying, "You must have seen fabulous pictures of the Coldplay concert organised in Mumbai and Ahmedabad. It shows that India has a massive scope for live concerts. Big artists from around the world are attracted towards India... I expect the state and the private sector to focus on needed infrastructure and skills."</p>
<p>This event adds to Gujarat&rsquo;s growing reputation as a prime hub for international events, which already includes successful hosting of the G-20 Summit and the Cricket World Cup in 2023.&nbsp;</p>
<p>CM Bhupendra Patel stated, "Under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Gujarat has successfully hosted major international events such as the G-20 Summit and the Cricket World Cup in 2023. With world-class infrastructure in place, the state continues to attract global events. <p>In addition to the concert&rsquo;s success, Ahmedabad&rsquo;s metro saw an incredible spike in ridership. Over two days, the metro recorded 4,05,264 passengers, surpassing numbers from other major sporting events. The concert generated Rs 66 lakh in metro revenue, exceeding figures from the 2023 Cricket World Cup and IPL events.</p>
<p>The concert&rsquo;s security and logistical efforts were noteworthy, with more than 1,800 police personnel deployed to ensure a safe experience.&nbsp;</p>
<p>To maintain security, the venue was monitored using advanced CCTV systems, and two dedicated control rooms were established.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Waste management was also handled efficiently, with over 1,500 tons of waste cleared within 48 hours, thanks to 492 sanitation workers, 14 JCB machines, and 27 trucks.</p>
<p>The Coldplay concert also provided a significant economic boost to the local economy, with over 900 flights arriving at Ahmedabad International Airport in just three days. Visitors from across the country and the world not only attended the concert but also explored the city's cultural landmarks.&nbsp;</p>
<p>This influx of visitors benefitted local businesses, including hotels, restaurants, and street vendors.</p>
<p>Coldplay&rsquo;s India leg of the Music of the Spheres tour started on January 16, 2025. Their final show at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Republic Day was a spectacular conclusion.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Chris Martin paid a heartfelt tribute to India during the performance, singing songs like "Vande Mataram" and "Maa Tujhhe Salaam," which deeply resonated with the crowd.</p>
<p>He ended with a salute to India, offering his Republic Day wishes.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Defending Champions Gujarat Titans' home ground, the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, will host the final two clashes in the IPL - Qualifier 2 on May 26 and then the final on May 28.</p>

<p>The BCCI announced the venues for the IPL playoffs and final that will be played between May 23 to 28.</p>
<p>Qualifier 1 will be held on May 23 at the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai, followed by the Eliminator on the very next day at the same venue.</p>

<p>Meanwhile, BJP IT cell head Amit Malviya shared a photograph from the event and said, &ldquo;Cricket diplomacy. It works.&rdquo;</p>
<p>Both Prime Ministers took a round of the massive sports arena on a golf car before the start of the fourth Test match between India and Australia.</p>
<p>The round of the playing turf on a golf car by the two dignitaries was applauded by the thousands of spectators who had already taken their seats in the world's largest cricket stadium.</p>
<p>Modi and Albanese handed over Test caps to their respective team captains Rohit Sharma and Steve Smith.</p>
<p>Modi and Albanese met players from both sides and stood alongside them when the national anthems of India and Australia were sung.</p>
<p>The two PMs also visited the 'Hall of Fame museum at the Narendra Modi stadium.</p>

<p>The 16th edition of the world's biggest T20 extravaganza begins on March 31, with defending champions Gujarat Titans hosting the Chennai Super Kings in the opening clash at the Narendra Modi Stadium.</p>
<p>The two-month-long tournament will conclude at the same venue on May 28, while the league stage will finish a week earlier on May 21.</p>
<p>The tournament will also return to its original format of 7 home and 7 away games, with a total of 70 league matches scheduled. There will be 18 double-headers, with the day game starting at 3:30 PM and all evening games beginning at 7:30 PM.</p>
<p>12 venues are set to host the league stage as Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals will play two home games each in Dharamsala and Guwahati respectively.</p>
