Oil marketing companies have cut the prices of commercial LPG gas cylinders by Rs 19 with immediate effect from May 1. As per the latest revision, 19KG commercial gas cylinders prices stood at Rs 1,745.50 in the national capital Delhi.

The revised price of commercial LPG cylinders in major cities include:

<li>Kolkata - Rs 1,859</li>
</ul>
The reduction of prices comes at a time when global oil prices registered a fall. Revision in both commercial and domestic LPG cylinders usually takes place on the first day of every month. The fall in oil prices comes amid expectations of ceasefire agreements in the middle east and rising crude inventories in the US.
Meanwhile, the Central government has also reduced windfall tax on crude petroleum. The special additional excise duty (SAED) on crude petroleum has also undergone revision as a rate cut has been implemented. The SAED earlier stood at Rs 9,600 per tonne which has now been revised to Rs 8,400 per tonne. On April 16, the government had updated the windfall tax on petroleum crude to Rs 9,600 per cent tonne from Rs 6,800.
Earlier, the LPG cylinder prices were slashed by Rs 30 from April 1.

Cooking gas has become cheaper as prices for commercial LPG cylinders effective April 1, 2024 have been slashed by ₹30.50. A 19 kg commercial cylinder now costs ₹1764.50 in New Delhi Additionally, the cost of a 5 kg Free Trade LPG cylinder has been reduced by ₹7.50. Oil marketing companies in India have reduced the price of commercial LPG cylinders, providing some relief to consumers.&nbsp;
This price cut follows two consecutive hikes in February and March, which had put pressure on consumers. In a shocking incident, a woman and her three kids died after an LPG cylinder exploded while she was making tea.

In a shocking incident, a woman and her three kids died after an LPG cylinder exploded while she was making tea.

In a tragic incident, a 42-year-old woman and her three children were killed after an LPG cylinder exploded in Dumri village of Uttar Pradesh's Deori district on Saturday, police said.
The incident occurred around 4 am in Dumri village located within the Bhaluani police station limits, they said.
The cylinder exploded when tea was being prepared by Aarti Devi, police said.
Senior officials arrived in the village after the incident and the bodies were sent for post-mortem, they said, adding that forensic and fire department teams are also at the spot.
Shivshankar Gupta, the deceased woman's husband, was getting ready to step out of the house and tea was being prepared when the cylinder exploded, police said.
Besides Aarti, the couple's daughters -- Aanchal (14) and Srishti (11) -- and son Kundan (12) were killed in the incident, they added.&nbsp;

The state-run Oil Marketing Companies have increased the price of commercial LPG cylinders by Rs 25.5 which will be effective from today. This new hike now brings the retail prices to a new high.&nbsp;
The rise in price comes a day after government decided to increase the price of domestic natural gas. The price of domestic natural gas has been increased to $ 8.17 per million metric British thermal units (mmBtu), which was $ 7.85 per mmBtu last month.

Along with commercial LPG cylinders, oil companies have also increased the prices of jet fuel. This increase has been made after four consecutive price cuts. The new increased rates of aviation fuel will also be applicable from today. Commercial LPG cylinders weigh 19 KG.
In Delhi and Kolkata, ATF prices for domestic airlines have been hiked to Rs 1,01,397/Kl and Rs 1,10,297/Kl in Delhi and Kolkata each. In Mumbai and Chennai, ATF prices for domestic airlines has been hiked to Rs 94,809/Kl and Rs 1,05,399/Kl respectively.

Budget 2024:&nbsp;Hours ahead of the Budget presentation, Oil Marketing companies (OMC) increased the prices of 19-kg commercial LPG gas cylinders with prices increasing by Rs 14 in Delhi, bringing it to Rs 1,769.50 per cylinder from the previous Rs 1,755.50.
Meanwhile, state owned OMCs like Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) have slashed the prices of aviation turbine fuel (ATF) for domestic airlines in Delhi by Rs 1,221/kl.&nbsp;
<h3>Commercial LPG price rise</h3>
Commercial LPG prices in other major cities have also gone up this month with Kolkata witnessing the highest increase of Rs 18, making it Rs 1,887 from Rs 1,869. In Mumbai prices rose to Rs 1723.50 from Rs 1708.50 (increase of Rs 15) and in Chennai prices increased to Rs 1,937 from Rs 1,924 (increase of Rs 13).

After the latest revision, the aviation turbine fuel prices for domestic airlines costs Rs 1,00,772.17 per kl in Delhi; Rs 1,09,797.33 per kl in Kolkata; Rs 94,2476 per kl in Mumbai and Rs 1,04,840.19 per kl in Chennai.
Aviation turbine fuel for domestic airlines on international run costs $912.76 per kl in Delhi; $950.88 per kl in Kolkata; $910.84 per kl in Mumbai; and $907.88 per kl in Chennai.&nbsp;
In January too, ATF were cut by 4% and in December the prices were slashed by around 4.6% and in November the prices were slashed by around 6%. The price of jet fuel, makes up for 40% of an airline's operating cost.

Effective from 1st November, the price of commercial gas cylinders has been hiked by ₹101.50. On the flip side, there has been a reduction in the prices of aviation fuel, which now stands at ₹1074 per kiloliter.
Amidst these developments, there is a sigh of relief for households relying on domestic LPG cylinders for cooking. The prices of domestic LPG cylinders, commonly used in kitchens across the country, have remained unchanged, providing a temporary reprieve for families trying to cope with escalating living costs.
The sudden hike in commercial gas cylinder prices has raised concerns among citizens, especially those preparing for Diwali, the festival that is just around the corner. Many are worried about the additional financial strain this price increase will impose on their festive celebrations.

In a big relief to consumers, Public sector Oil Marketing Companies have cut the price of the 19 KG commercial LPG gas cylinders by ₹ 158, reported ANI. This comes after the Central Government reduced the Domestic LPG prices by ₹ 200 on the eve of Raksha Bandhan.
As per the ANI report, the new prices will be effective from today and Delhi's retail sales price of 19kg commercial LPG cylinder will be ₹ 1,522.&nbsp;

Earlier in August, the OMCs cut the prices of commercial LPG by ₹ 99.75. In July the prices were increased by ₹ 7 each. Petroleum and oil marketing companies had on March 1 this year hiked the prices of commercial LPG cylinders by ₹ 350.50 per unit and domestic LPG cylinders by ₹ 50 per unit.
Meanwhile the government has exempted imports of LPG from 15% agri cess which will be effective from today. The government had in July imposed a 15% agri cess on imports of these goods.

Meanwhile, the prices of domestic gas cylinders will remain the same. A non-subsidised 14.2 kg gas cylinder costs Rs 1,103 in Delhi, Rs 1,129 in Kolkata, Rs 1,102.50 in Mumbai, and Rs 1,118.50 in Chennai. The prices of domestic cylinders were last modified in May.&nbsp;

The prices are revised on the first day of every month. In June the prices of commercial LPG cylinders were slashed by Rs 83.5 at state-run oil wholesalers.&nbsp;
Depending on the local VAT, these LPG petrol prices change from one state to the next. Domestic and commercial LPG petrol cylinders are marketed separately in the nation.
Commercial cylinders are utilised by businesses like hotels, restaurants, and industries, whilst domestic cylinders are designed for home consumption.

The price of a 14.2-kg domestic cooking cylinder has remained unchanged after two hikes in May.&nbsp;
From today, the 19 kg commercial cylinder will be cheaper by Rs 198 per bottle. The price of a 19 kg commercial cylinder will now be Rs 2021 as against the earlier price of Rs 2,219 per bottle in Delhi, while in Kolkata it will be priecd at Rs 2140 instead of Rs 2,322 in Kolkata, Rs 1981 instead of Rs 2,171.50 in Mumbai and Rs 2186 instead of Rs 2,373 in Chennai.
Meanwhile, the rates of domestic <a href="https://www.editorji.com/business-news/lpg-cylinder-price-cut-today-19-kg-commercial-cylinder-becomes-cheaper-1656643965335" target="_blank">LPG cylinders</a> have remained high, putting pressure on consumers. A new LPG cylinder connection will be expensive from June 16, 2022. 
Now, for a new connection, you will have to shell out Rs 2,200, with a cylinder weighing 14.2 kg instead of Rs 1,450 charged in the past.
The revision in rates has taken place due to the latest increase in the fuel prices. 
With this, authorities have increased the price for regulators, pipes, passbook, additional gas connection and security deposit. 
If someone takes two cylinders, then he will have to pay Rs 4,400 as security money for the cylinder. Earlier, Rs 2,900 had to be paid as security for two cylinders.
Also, the security amount of the 5 kg cylinder has now been increased to Rs 1,150 instead of Rs 800 charged earlier.
