Indian movie &lsquo;Jawan&rsquo; is nominated for the best feature category alongside Anatomy of a Fall (France), Concrete Utopia (South Korea), Fallen Leaves (Finland), Perfect Days (Japan), Radical (Mexico), Society of the Snow (Spain), The Taste of Things (France), The Teacher&rsquo;s Lounge (Germany), and The Zone of Interest (United Kingdom).&nbsp;
Christopher Nolan&rsquo;s &lsquo;Oppenheimer&rsquo; earned 14 nominations while Greta Gerwig&rsquo;s &lsquo;Barbie&rsquo; got 15 nods. Taylor Swift&rsquo;s &lsquo;Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour&rsquo; has been nominated in the Best Documentary Feature category.&nbsp;
The winners will be revealed on February 26, 2024, in Los Angeles.&nbsp;

The case was complicated as the jawan's official records mentioned the name of his first wife, who had snapped ties immediately after their wedding and has been untraceable. In the absence of a divorce certificate, the second wife was not in official records.
To fix this, the Army came up with the idea of an &lsquo;elopement certificate&rsquo;, paving the way for the second wife to get the status of a legal spouse.
The veterans&rsquo; branch of Uttar Maharashtra and Gujarat (UMANG) sub-area recently received an official seal on the &lsquo;elopement certificate&rsquo;.
The soldier's second wife may finally receive the family pension she has been denied for over a year.

The Atlee directorial has now become the first Hindi film in the history of Indian Cinema to cross ₹1100 crores worldwide.
This makes Jawan the highest-grossing Indian film of the year 2023.
The news was shared by Shah Rukh Khan&rsquo;s manager Pooja Dadlani on social media on October 6. The post mentioned that the worldwide collection of the action thriller now stands at ₹1103.27 crores.
The breakdown of the collections was also given, with the India national box office at ₹619.92 crore, while the global box office cumulated to ₹369.90 crores.

&lsquo;Jawan&rsquo;, which was released in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages, went on to collect ₹80.1 crore in India in all languages on its first Sunday.

Director Atlee Kumar talked about his blockbuster &lsquo;Jawan&rsquo;, starring Shah Rukh Khan, at India Today Conclave Mumbai 2023 on October 5. At the event, he spoke about Shah Rukh&rsquo;s much-discussed monologue from the film in which he raised the importance of asking questions before voting in elections.
He said, &lsquo;I&rsquo;m also a part of the press, I&rsquo;m also a part of the media. I should make entertainment with a responsibility. Of course, I can still entertain the audience without a message, but I wouldn&rsquo;t be doing my job in the right way. I&rsquo;m aware of today&rsquo;s issues, and as a writer and director, I&rsquo;m always thinking what we can do about them.&rsquo;
Denying that he is an &lsquo;anti-establishment&rsquo; director, Atlee described himself as a &lsquo;layman&rsquo;.
&lsquo;It is my voice, it is the common man&rsquo;s voice&hellip;&rdquo; he said. When it was pointed out to him that both the BJP and the Congress have been claiming that the film&rsquo;s messaging favours them, Atlee said, &ldquo;You have to be very responsible as a citizen, and I&rsquo;m not specifying anything&hellip; You should know the value of your vote, how to vote, and on what basis you should come to the conclusion of who to vote for. It&rsquo;s just a manual. We describe what your responsibility is,&rsquo; he said.
When asked if the film is about any political party&rsquo;s operations in particular, Atlee said that the monologue delivered by Shah Rukh&rsquo;s Azaad at the end of the film should be relevant &lsquo;even 100 years from now&rsquo;.
He concluded, &lsquo;If a coach teaches a student how to bowl, it&rsquo;s not for the next match, it&rsquo;s for a lifetime. I&rsquo;m saying a message for a lifetime, my films should stand for 100 years.&rsquo;

September 2023 was a fiercely competitive month at the US Box Office, with The Equalizer 3 leading the charge with a staggering $73,673,848 (₹613 crore) in earnings.
Following closely behind was The Nun II, amassing $56,327,738 (₹469 crore). In fourth place, we find My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 with $18,632,245 (₹155 crore), making its mark on the rankings.

In India, the 11-day total collection now stands at Rs 477.28 crore. On September 17, the film registered an occupancy of 45.32 per cent.
&lsquo;Jawan&rsquo; stars Shah Rukh Khan, Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi in the lead roles.
The high-octane action thriller outlines &lsquo;the emotional journey of a man who is set to rectify the wrongs in the society&rsquo;. SRK features in the dual role of Vikram Rathore and his son Azad. The movie addresses social and political issues through its protagonist.
It also stars Deepika Padukone and Sanjay Dutt in special appearances.
Jawan also features Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani, Girija Oak, Sanjeeta Bhattacharya, Lehar Khan, Aaliyah Qureshi, Ridhi Dogra, Sunil Grover and Mukesh Chhabra in key roles.

The film stands at number three spot in terms of highest Hindi film grossers of year 2023, 'Pathaan&rsquo; being at number 1, followed by Sunny Deol starrer &lsquo;Gadar 2.&rsquo;
'Jawan' is ahead of 'Pathaan' in terms of nett domestic collections. 'Pathaan' made Rs 364.15 crore in nine days of its release, as per Bollywood Hungama.
'Jawan&rsquo;s production house Red Chillies Entertainment reported that the film has earned Rs 696.67 crore worldwide gross. Makers shared the figures on the eighth day of the film. A success press conference of the film was held on September 15.&nbsp;
According to Box Office Worldwide, the film is expected to cross the Rs 1000 mark in its third week.&nbsp;

The action thriller&rsquo;s Hindi version made ₹21.5 crore nett, while the Tamil and Telugu versions collected ₹95 lakh and ₹85 lakh, respectively. &lsquo;Jawan&rsquo; has minted roughly ₹368.38 crore nett in all languages so far, as per the portal.

&lsquo;It&rsquo;s a story that will make you believe in the magic of movie-making. That line was never there in our draft originally. The &lsquo;moment&rsquo; where SRK sir&rsquo;s character says the line was always there and we all knew that it is a powerful moment even without a dialogue. But while shooting, it was felt that there should be a line, that this guy should say something,&rsquo; the writer said in a statement.
&lsquo;I was there on the set, so I was called in, and the first words that came out of my mouth given the situation were: &lsquo;bete ko hath lagane se pehle, baap se baat kar&rsquo;. It felt like the most obvious and most apt thing he should say at that moment. It just fits (in). Director Atlee and SRK sir both felt it&rsquo;s correct and the shot was taken,&rsquo; he added.
The dialogue had instantly caught the attention of Shah Rukh&rsquo;s fans when it was first shown in the trailer. Many netizens linked the dialogue as a response to the arrest of SRK&rsquo;s son Aryan Khan in the drugs-on-cruise case in October 2021. Aryan was granted bail after spending 25 days in jail and later given a clean chit.
&lsquo;Jawan&rsquo;, directed by Atlee, features Shah Rukh in the role of Vikram Rathore and his son Azad. The movie highlights various social and political issues through the story.
Arora said the team didn&rsquo;t expect that the dialogue would resonate with people in such a way.
