Avtar Saini, the former India Intel president, was killed after a speeding cab hit him while cycling in Navi Mumbai.

Former India Intel chief Avtar Saini was involved in a fatal accident early morning on February 28. The 68-year-old was out cycling on the streets of Navi Mumbai when he was hit by a speeding cab around 5:50 am.
Saini, who was credited with working on the Intel 386 and 486 microprocessors, was declared dead on arrival at the hospital.&nbsp;
Describing the tragic incident, police said the cab driver had tried to flee from the scene. Authorities have now registered an FIR against the driver, who was identified as Hrishikesh Khade.
&ldquo;Avtar played a key role in setting up Intel R&amp;D center in India. He had an illustrious career at Intel from 1982 to 2004 during which he was instrumental in the design of several processors,&rdquo; current India Intel president Gokul Subramaniam said.
Cab driver Hrishikesh Khade was booked under IPC sections relating to rash driving and negligence. A notice has also been served to the accused.

The Intel Evo-certified device features a 14-inch OLED PureSight touchscreen with up to 4K resolution and Dolby Vision support, a 13th Gen Intel Core i7 processor, and the ability to be used in four modes- laptop, stand, tent, or tablet. It &nbsp;also comes with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of SSD storage, a 2-megapixel full-HD and infrared webcam, a 360-degree rotating soundbar, and a 75Wh battery. &nbsp;The Lenovo Yoga 9i has a starting price of ₹1,74,990 in India and is available to pre-order now.

Intel debuted the 13th-generation of Raptor Lake processors for laptops at CES 2023. It comprises the HX, H, P, and U series.
The new HX Series CPUs are designed for gamers and content creators and feature up to 24 total cores, including 8 performance cores and 16 efficiency cores. Intel boasts that their new Core i9-13980HX mobile CPU is the world's fastest.
The i9-13980HX improves single-threaded performance by 11 percent and multithreaded performance by an astounding 49 percent. It offers 32MB L3 cache, 16 lanes of PCIe 5.0, memory of up to DDR5 5600, and up to four Thunderbolt 4 connectors.
All of the new HX processors provide a base power of 55W and a maximum Turbo output of 157W. The basic i5-13450HX processor has a total of 10 cores, with 6 performance cores and 4 efficiency cores.
The H-series is designed for "Enthusiast Laptops" with a 45W basic power output and up to 14 cores, including 6 performance and 8 efficiency cores. The P and U series will be utilised in ultrathin and lightweight computers.
A majority of Windows laptop manufacturers, including Lenovo, Asus, Dell, HP, Acer, MSI, and Samsung, have indicated that new laptops using Intel's 13th-generation processors would be released later this year.

Intel has launched its first ever discrete GPUs, after many years of anticipation. The Intel Arc A350M and A370M GPUs are entry-level models meant for thin and light laptops. Intel has also announced the Arc 5 and Arc 7 series GPUs, meant for higher-end gaming laptops, which will be available later this year.

The Arc A350M and A370M include 4GB of GDDR6 VRAM, and up to 8 Xe cores, and 8 ray tracing units. The A350M will support TDPs of 25 - 35W, while the A370M will support TDPs from 35 - 50W. Both cards also get a 64-bit memory bandwidth.
DirectX 12, variable rate shading, and ray tracing are supported by all Intel Arc GPUs. The chips also support hardware AV1 video encoding, and the latest HDMI and DisplayPort standards. Intel has promised 1080p 60fps performance in many popular games with the A370M.

At their CES 2022 conference, Intel announced new models of its 12th Gen Alder Lake CPUs, including the first laptop chips with the new design. Leading the line is the Core i9-12900HK, which intel claims is the &lsquo;fastest mobile processor ever&rsquo;.
<h2>Intel Alder Lake at CES 2022</h2>
Intel had launched the first wave of 12th Gen Alder Lake chips last year, with a handful of desktop CPUs, but they were primarily aimed at the high end desktop market.
Intel has now expanded the lineup with over 40 new chipset models in the Alder Lake lineup. The flagship here is the Core i9-12900HK, with a 5.0GHz boosted clock speed. Intel claims this chipset can outclass both the AMD Ryzen 5900HX, and the top-line Apple M1 Max in terms of performance, for both gaming and productivity tasks.
Intel claims 28% faster gaming performance over its predecessor, the Core i9-11980HK, and a 44% boost in Premiere Pro tasks.
Intel&rsquo;s new hybrid architecture has also come to laptops, featuring both &lsquo;performance&rsquo; cores for processing power, and &lsquo;efficient&rsquo; cores for background tasks. The top-line Core i9 model has 14 cores and 20 threads, while the base Core i5 model has 8 cores and 12 threads.
The 12th Gen Alder Lake chips also come with support for Wi-Fi 6E, Thunderbolt 4, PCIe 4.0, and support for the latest memory standards.
Intel also talked about it&rsquo;s P-series and U-series chips, meant for thinner and lighter laptops, which are coming later this year.

Intel&rsquo;s &lsquo;Arc&rsquo; dedicated GPUs are highly awaited, as the dedicated graphics market is undergoing the worst shortage ever seen, with cards selling for many times their MSRP.
Although Intel Arc GPUs are not yet available to purchase for gamers, Intel has announced that first-generation &lsquo;Alchemist&rsquo; GPUs have started shipping to OEM customers, to be included in their systems. Acer, Asus, Gigabyte, Dell, Haier, Clevo, Samsung, Lenovo, HP, NEC and MSI are among the brands that will be using Arc GPUs.
There is currently no timeline on when the first computers equipped with Arc GPUs will make it on to the market, or when gamers will be able to purchase a discrete unit.

Intel recently launched its 12th-gen desktop CPUs, termed &lsquo;Alder Lake&rsquo;, promising better performance for gamers. However, Intel has confirmed that over 50 games, including titles like Assassin&rsquo;s Creed Valhalla, Far Cry Primal, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, and Football Manager 2021 do not presently work on systems which utilise the newest Intel CPUs. The affected games all use the Denuvo DRM software, which causes issues with the architecture of Alder Lake processors. Intel has said that Denuvo has identified a software fix for the issue, and is in the process of rolling it out, which is coming to 11 games in mid-November. In the meantime, Intel also recommends that users turn on Legacy Game Compatibility Mode in the BIOS for their own systems as a temporary fix, which can make some games playable.

The affected games all use the Denuvo Digital Rights Management (DRM) software. The software uses CPUID, a hardware fingerprint that identifies each individual processor, to limit the amount of systems that could play a protected game. However, Intel has split the architecture of the 12th-gen Alder Lake chips into &lsquo;performance&rsquo; and &lsquo;efficiency&rsquo; cores. According to <a href="https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000088259/processors/intel-core-processors.html">Intel,</a> the DRM software can see the efficiency cores as a separate system, thus disallowing the user from playing certain games.

Intel has said that Denuvo has identified a software fix for the issue, and is in the process of rolling it out. However, the fix will have to be rolled out to each game individually. 11 games which are currently unplayable with 12th-gen Intel CPUs will get the fix in mid-November. These include Anthem, Bravely Default 2, Fishing Sim World, Football Manager 2019, Football Manager Touch 2019, Football Manager 2020, Football Manager Touch 2020, Legend of Mana, Mortal Kombat 11, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2, and Warhammer I.
Several other games are also affected by the issue, and are currently not playable, but no release date for the fix for these games has been announced. These include titles like Assassin&rsquo;s Creed: Valhalla, Far Cry Primal, Fernbus Simulator, For Honor, Lost in Random, Madden 22, Maneater, Need for Speed &ndash; Hot Pursuit Remastered, Sea of Solitude, Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order, Tourist Bus Simulator, and Maneater.
In the meantime, Intel also recommends that users turn on Legacy Game Compatibility Mode in the BIOS for their own systems as a temporary fix, which can make some games playable.

Intel has launched their new 12th-gen &lsquo;Alder Lake&rsquo; desktop CPUs, comprising Core i5, Core i7, and Core i9 models. The Alder Lake CPUs will use a mix of two different core types, specialised for performance and efficiency, in a way similar to smartphone processors or Apple&rsquo;s M1 chipsets. The 12th-gen Intel Core CPUs will be manufactured on Intel&rsquo;s 10nm process, recently renamed &lsquo;Intel 7&rsquo;. They will also support the DDR5 RAM and PCIe 5.0 standards. The top of the line Intel Core i9 model, with eight high performance and eight efficiency cores, will launch with a price of $589 in the US. India pricing and availability details have not yet been announced.

The company has launched six new models, all of which are unlocked and support overclocking. 12th-gen CPUs for segments like laptops will also be launching, Intel has confirmed. Additional desktop models will also be launching in 2022.

Intel calls this &lsquo;Performance Hybrid Architecture&rsquo;. The 12th-gen Intel Core CPUs will be manufactured on Intel&rsquo;s 10nm process, recently renamed &lsquo;Intel 7&rsquo;. Intel has said that despite the ongoing global chip shortage, Alder Lake CPUs will be readily available in stores, and will also be available to PC OEM manufacturers to include in their pre-built desktops.
The top of the line Intel Core i9 model, with eight high performance and eight efficiency cores, is touted by Intel as the &ldquo;world&rsquo;s best gaming processor&rdquo;, and can run at a clock speed of up to 5.2Ghz. It will launch with a price of $589 in the US. India pricing and availability details have not yet been announced.
