Divya Pahuja, a 27-year-old model who recently got bail in connection with the alleged fake encounter of Gurugram's most-wanted gangster Sandeep Gadoli, was shot dead at a hotel in the Haryana city. Three people, including the hotel's owner, were arrested on Thursday.
On Tuesday night, &nbsp;five people allegedly took Divya Pahuja to the Gurugram hotel and shot her in the head. The matter came to light on Wednesday after the girl's family couldn't contact Divya, and approached police suspecting foul play.&nbsp;
Divya's sister Naina told the police that she was last present at the hotel owned by 56-year-old Abhijeet Singh.&nbsp;
A team of police then reached the hotel and found blood stains on the stairs. While scanning the CCTV footage, cops saw Divya's body wrapped in a bedsheet and being dragged by two men towards the BMW car that was stationed at the hotel's entry.&nbsp;
"When the police scanned the CCTV footage of the hotel, the crime was revealed. The matter has been documented, and an investigation is underway. The crime team is also looking into the matter,&rdquo; Superintendent of Police Mukesh Kumar told PTI news agency.
According to police, the hotel's owner, Abhijeet Singh, wanted to eliminate Divya as she had some of his photographs in a compromising position and was seeking money. Singh told the police she started blackmailing him soon after she got out of jail.
"Singh revealed that on Tuesday night, he met her at a room in his hotel and tried deleting the photographs from her phone, but could not unlock the phone as it was password protected. This led to a heated argument, and Singh shot her dead,&rdquo; said ACP Kumar.
Police have launched a manhunt to recover Divya's body.
Divya, a resident of Baldev Nagar in Gurugram&rsquo;s Sector-7, was jailed in 2016 after being involved in the murder of her ex-boyfriend Gadoli.&nbsp;
Gadoli was killed by the police in an encounter in a Mumbai hotel in 2016. Divya, her mother, and five police officers were later arrested for the murder.
According to the Mumbai police, Divya was used as a honeytrap to bait Gadoli into coming to a hotel, where he was eliminated.
In June last year, she was granted bail by the Bombay High Court after spending seven years in prison.&nbsp;

However, to reach the hotel one has to trek through an abandoned Victorian slate mine along with a trip leader. For the hour-long trek, visitors are provided a helmet, light, harness and boots.&nbsp;

A guest rammed his car into a Chinese hotel allegedly after spat with the staff over his missing laptop.
The January 10 clip from Jinling Purple Mountain Hotel in Shanghai shows a white car bursting into the lobby after bringing the hotel's glass doors crashing down.&nbsp;
The man then drove around the lobby destroying everything in his path. He reportedly also smashed another set of glass doors in the hotel. The accused, identified as 28-year-old Chen, only stopped when he got stuck while exiting.
Onlookers and hotel staff are seen banging on his car door and gesturing him to come out in the several videos that have gone viral.&nbsp;
As per an AFP report, the disgruntled man had an argument with the staff after not finding his laptop. No one was injured in the incident and the stolen laptop was recovered from outside the hotel.

As many as 10 people have died in a fire at a Cambodian hotel-casino on the border of Thailand, with photos showing groups desperately huddled on ledges as fierce flames surround them.
The blaze at the Grand Diamond City hotel-casino in Poipet broke out late Wednesday night at around 11:30 pm local (1630 GMT), Cambodian police said.
A provisional police report seen by AFP said "about 10 people died and 30 people injured", adding that around 400 individuals were believed to be working at the venue.
Images obtained by AFP showed the building consumed by flames, with firefighters struggling to contain the intense blaze and rescuers attempting to pluck people from a burning ledge.

Local media reported that foreign nationals were inside the casino at the time of the fire.
A Thai foreign ministry source said they were coordinating closely with local authorities, with the injured transferred to hospitals in Thailand's Sa Kaeo province.
"The authorities have been trying to control the fire including by sending in firetrucks from the Thai side," they said.
A volunteer with Thai rescue group the Ruamkatanyu Foundation said the blaze started on the first floor but spread quickly along the carpets, leaping up through the multi-storey building.

Rajasthan, which is widely known all across the globe for its palaces and forts, will alone witness 1.5 lakh weddings in November, the highest in over two years after the coronavirus outbreak.
While the per day expense of a marriage garden in the state is from Rs 50,000 to Rs 10-12 lakh depending upon location and size, there are dharmshalas with 25-40 rooms with good facilities are available for around 2 lakh per day.
Rajasthan is famous for destination weddings at places like Udaipur, Jaisalmer, Sawaimadhopur and Kumbhalgarh, where businessmen and celebrities have tied the knot in the past.

It was the Taj Resort in Convention Centre in Goa where the rebel Sena MLAs were staying. NCP's Sonia Doohan, and Shray Kothiyal had tried to check into the hotel, but were arrested after being accused of using fake IDs. The two politicians were granted bail on 3 July.
The rebel MLAs had been tipped-off that a woman at the resort was asking about them, according to news reports quoting sources. The incident was compared to another episode two and a half years ago, when some NCP MLAs sneaked out of a hotel during the short-lived alliance between Ajit Pawar and BJP's Devendra Fadnavis.

In November 2019, Sonia Doohan had claimed to have "rescued" 4 NCP MLAs. This transpired when Ajit Pawar had apparently rebelled against uncle Sharad Pawar and allied with the BJP to form the government after elections threw up a split verdict.
Five NCP legislators had been taken to BJP-ruled Haryana, and housed on the fifth floor of a hotel in Gurugram. Sonia Doohan claimed that she booked rooms on all floors of the hotel, except the fifth floor. NCP claimed that heavy security had been deployed at the hotel to keep the MLAs trapped.
Doohan said that in order to free the MLAs, she mapped a route inside the hotel which would not have CCTV cameras. Subsequently, one NCP MLA was taken out of the back gate which was linked to another hotel. When two more were being taken out, uproar broke out.
Doohan said that she had to leave her own car at the hotel, and take another vehicle to drive the 2 MLAs to Sharad Pawar's house in Delhi. Then, the fourth MLA was "rescued" at 2:30 at night.
So, who is Sonia Doohan, the protagonist in these escapades? She is the national president of the student wing of the Nationalist Congress Party.
She hails from Petwar village in Haryana's Hisar, and her family is engaged in farming. She studied at a village school, before graduating from Kurukshetra University. Doohan also trained to be a pilot in Pune, which is when she got involved in student politics.

Amid growing controversy over a video purportedly shot at a Delhi hotel, the owner of the property defended his staff.
In the video, the staff is seen&nbsp;apparently&nbsp;refusing to allot a room to a person from Jammu and Kashmir, despite a booking through OYO, which is a hotel aggregator.&nbsp;The hotel staff appears to cite Delhi police instructions to deny the person a room.
