The decision was made on disciplinary grounds after Rauf refused to make himself available for the Test tour of Australia in winter citing a heavy workload and his Big Bash contract.

The decision was made on disciplinary grounds after Rauf refused to make himself available for the Test tour of Australia in winter citing a heavy workload and his Big Bash contract.
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi said there seems to be a misunderstanding.
"After receiving his written reply the board has decided to restore his central contract," Naqvi said at a press conference.
Naqvi said that Haris in his reply had said that he was always committed to playing for Pakistan and his viewpoint was misunderstood but he accepted his mistake.
"So we have decided to restore his central contract. We are also worried about Haris Rauf&rsquo;s fitness because he was injured during the PSL and we need to take proper care of him," Naqvi said.

It is a big blow to the Lahore side which despite being defending champions have now lost all four of their games. They lost to Karachi Kings in the final over by two wickets on Saturday.
Haris, who recently had his central contract terminated by the Pakistan Cricket Board on disciplinary grounds, is expected to take time to recover from his shoulder injury.

Ahead of the historic 1st Test vs Australia, Pakistan dealt a huge blow as pacer Haris Rauf tested positive for Covid-19.
PCB in a statement said that he has been put in isolation but the rest of the team began training in Rawalpindi, which will host the 1st Test starting March 4.
Rauf was in contention to make his Test debut in his hometown after fast bowler Hasan Ali and all-rounder Faheem Ashraf were ruled out of the first Test due to injuries. 
It's Australia's first Test series in Pakistan since 1998.
