The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) held a press conference on Monday with Visavadar MLA Gopal Italia, State Chief Spokesperson Dr. Karan Barot, and Working Central Zone President Dr. Jwel Vasara to address key state issues and launch a new statewide awareness campaign.
During the press conference, the party introduced a new slogan: &ldquo;Na betanu, na bapnu&hellip; Gujarat have AAP nu.&rdquo; MLA Gopal Italia explained that the slogan reflects the party&rsquo;s message that Gujarat belongs to the common people rather than political heirs.
Speaking on the campaign, Italia said, &ldquo;For a long time, the people of Gujarat have been voting for BJP out of compulsion. Due to remaining in power for years, BJP has developed such arrogance and ego as if Gujarat is their father&rsquo;s property. Whereas in a democratic system, the ultimate authority always lies with the people as per the Constitution. No ruler, no government, and no party is greater than the people.&rdquo;
He alleged that under BJP rule, dominance and exploitation by father-son duos prevail in the state. &ldquo;Wherever BJP leaders require land, bulldozers are deployed overnight, and the livelihoods of poor people are destroyed. In many places, cases have emerged where sons of BJP leaders have been involved in criminal activities such as MNREGA scams, drugs, liquor, cuts in government contracts, extortion, and violence,&rdquo; Italia said.
He added, &ldquo;Sons of BJP leaders think, &lsquo;My father is in BJP, nothing will happen to me,&rsquo; and this mindset has caused great damage to Gujarat. From villages to the state government, people are troubled by BJP&rsquo;s father-son politics. Against this situation, the Aam Aadmi Party has decided to move forward with a clear message.&rdquo;
Italia further explained the meaning of the new slogan, stating, &ldquo;Gujarat being &lsquo;aapnu&rsquo; means Gujarat belongs to the common people. Through this slogan, the party will remind the people of Gujarat that Gujarat does not belong to political heirs, but to crores of hardworking people&mdash;farmers, workers, youth, women, and marginalized sections. With this slogan, the Aam Aadmi Party is launching a massive public outreach campaign to reach every home, every lane, and every individual across the state. The party expressed confidence that the people of Gujarat will bless AAP workers coming from ordinary families and support them in ending father-son politics and establishing true self-rule.&rdquo;
On the issue of recent demolitions in Rajkot and other parts of the state, Italia said, &ldquo;Whenever BJP leaders like a piece of land, bulldozers arrive overnight. That is why AAP repeatedly says that Gujarat does not belong to BJP&rsquo;s fathers or BJP leaders&rsquo; fathers. When BJP leaders liked land in Vatva and Ranip of Ahmedabad, bulldozers arrived there. BJP leaders, collectors, and police come together to vacate land&mdash;this will no longer be tolerated. Homes of people living near Motera for 50 years were demolished. Similarly, bulldozers are being used in the name of dream projects in Sanand and along the SG Highway, in Jangleshwar of Rajkot, around Somnath Temple, and likewise in Surat.&rdquo;
He added, &ldquo;When common people go to court, cases drag on for years. In my view, justice delivered in the people&rsquo;s court is faster than in government courts. In the people&rsquo;s court, justice is delivered in favor of the victims. When people&rsquo;s conscience awakens and justice is served, BJP will not be able to show its face. We stand with all these victims&mdash;whether it is a legal battle or a street protest&mdash;we stand with the victims everywhere.&rdquo;
The AAP indicated that this campaign will focus on reaching citizens in every constituency and village across Gujarat, aiming to raise awareness about governance issues and advocate for greater public participation ahead of the upcoming local self-government elections.

Manoj Sorathiya further said, &ldquo;For the last 30 years, Gujarat has been exploited by a few families, big industrialists, and political heirs. Through this campaign, the Aam Aadmi Party has formally begun the upcoming local self-government elections in Gujarat. Vasava noted that despite 30 years of one-party rule by the BJP, these issues have not been adequately addressed. &ldquo;People have now made up their minds that change will come in the coming days,&rdquo; he said. He expressed confidence that the new members joining the party will actively participate in future efforts to bring about change.
The MLA said that in the upcoming elections for the Taluka Panchayat, District Panchayat, and municipalities, AAP would contest independently and unitedly. He expressed faith that residents of Kukarmunda, Nizar, and surrounding areas would support AAP candidates and work toward ensuring their victory.

AAP Gujarat State President Isudan Gadhvi, MLA Hemant Khava, State Organization Secretary Ajit Lokhil, Saurashtra Zone In-Charge Rajubhai Borkhatariya, Youth President Brijraj Solanki, State Chief Spokesperson Dr. Karan Barot, and other party leaders and workers welcomed the released leaders.
During a press conference, Pravin Ram addressed the media, saying that the BJP had kept them in jail for 108 days to suppress the voice of farmers. He said that many other innocent farmers were also detained and that despite this, they had emerged stronger.
&ldquo;We stayed in jail not broken but stronger. This is a clear message that the fight for farmers will not stop,&rdquo; he said, adding that he would continue working on farmers&rsquo; issues, including the Ghed region.
Pravin Ram claimed that a conspiracy took place in Botad, where 100 people were booked, yet police did not have evidence of them committing violence. He said police focused on party positions rather than actions, suggesting that legal action was used to curb the protests. He stated that the public would respond to this in the upcoming Taluka Panchayat and District Panchayat elections. He also described incidents in Haddad village where farmers ensured that escalation was avoided, though arrests and alleged violence occurred later.
Pravin Ram welcomed the government circular banning the Kadada practice as a major victory for farmers, but emphasized that the implementation remains a challenge. He said many traders are still exploiting farmers and that enforcing the circular on the ground is necessary.
Isudan Gadhvi stated that after taking control of APMCs, the BJP introduced the price-cutting practice, which he said exploited farmers. He said that when AAP farmer leaders raised their voices, the government issued the circular banning Kadada practices. Gadhvi alleged that police acted harshly during protests in Haddad village, targeting AAP leaders and farmers, and described the actions as severe. He said the movement for farmers&rsquo; rights would continue and that agitations would be carried out on multiple issues.
Ramesh Mer addressed the media, stating that farmers were treated harshly, similar to being treated like terrorists, even though they were protesting only against the price-cutting practice. He questioned why officers did not act similarly against traders accused of exploiting farmers.&nbsp;
Mer also mentioned that farmers endured hardships, including lack of food, water, and medical assistance, yet remained committed to ensuring that their demands are met.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Gujarat State President Isudan Gadhvi on Saturday criticised the Union Budget, describing it as &ldquo;hollow&rdquo; and lacking in long-term vision for key sections of society, including farmers, the middle class and unemployed youth.
Addressing the media, Gadhvi said the budget does not offer adequate relief to the middle class, which he said continues to bear a high tax burden and faces multiple GST slabs. He added that despite rising medical expenses, no significant provisions have been made to ease healthcare costs.
&ldquo;Many families spend a large part of their income on hospital treatment, yet there is no clear arrangement for healthcare relief,&rdquo; he said. He also stated that the budget does not include major initiatives related to education.
Commenting on the agricultural sector, Gadhvi said that farmers have not been provided sufficient support. He claimed that the budget does not reflect clear plans for irrigation facilities, free electricity or loan relief. According to him, farmers are unlikely to benefit significantly from the current proposals.
Raising the issue of employment, the AAP leader said that regular government recruitment has declined in recent years. He alleged that outsourcing has increased while permanent recruitment has reduced, and pointed to fewer job openings in sectors such as the railways. He also said there is no clarity regarding a recruitment calendar.
Gadhvi further stated that the budget does not outline specific schemes for economically weaker and marginalised communities. Referring to the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MNREGA), he noted that while workdays have reportedly been increased from 100 to 125, states have been assigned a higher financial burden.
He questioned how state governments would manage the additional responsibility and said there was no clear roadmap for implementation.
Calling the budget disappointing, Gadhvi said it does not adequately address the needs of farmers, the middle class, youth, and vulnerable sections of society. He added that, in his view, the budget lacks a comprehensive approach to economic and social development.
The Central Government, meanwhile, has maintained that the budget focuses on growth, infrastructure development, and long-term economic stability. Officials have said the proposals aim to balance fiscal discipline with welfare and development priorities.

Speaking on the occasion, Mann highlighted the &lsquo;Chief Minister Sehat Scheme,&rsquo; which provides free treatment of up to ₹10 lakh for every family in Punjab without income-based restrictions or additional documentation beyond an Aadhaar card.&nbsp;
&ldquo;For the first time in India, free treatment of up to ₹10 lakh will be provided under the &lsquo;Chief Minister Sehat Scheme.&rsquo; In Punjab, every family receives free treatment of up to ₹10 lakh without any conditions, and there is no income-based restriction. There are no green or yellow cards or any such conditions. Only an Aadhaar card is required,&rdquo; he said.
Mann explained that the scheme covers a wide range of treatments, including kidney and knee transplants, dialysis, heart-related illnesses, mental health issues, and eye and dental care.&nbsp;
&ldquo;From kidney transplants to knee transplants, dialysis, all heart-related diseases, as well as mental health-related issues are also covered. That means treatment for any type of illness will be covered under this scheme,&rdquo; he stated. The Chief Minister noted that registration for the scheme is ongoing and emphasized its role in preventing financial distress caused by medical emergencies.
He also highlighted the state&rsquo;s network of Aam Aadmi Clinics, which provide free tests and medicines to residents in villages and nearby areas.&nbsp;
&ldquo;In our health system, the first point is the Aam Aadmi Clinic. These clinics are available in every village or in large villages covering two to four nearby villages. At these clinics, at least 42 types of tests and all necessary medicines are provided completely free of cost,&rdquo; Mann said.
In addition to health initiatives, Mann noted that electricity is provided free for up to 600 units every month for households in Punjab, following a similar model to Delhi.&nbsp;
&ldquo;After Delhi, electricity is also free for everyone in Punjab. 600 units of free electricity are provided. Bills come once every two months, which means 300 units are provided free every month. There are no conditions,&rdquo; he said.
Mann also spoke about Punjab&rsquo;s contribution to national food security, noting that the state annually supplies approximately 18.5 million metric tons of rice and 12.5 million metric tons of wheat to the country&rsquo;s food reserves.
The Chief Minister referenced the broader political context in Gujarat, noting the state&rsquo;s longstanding governance by the BJP and the limited presence of the Congress. He urged citizens to consider the Aam Aadmi Party&rsquo;s focus on public welfare schemes and inclusive governance. &ldquo;People are giving love to the Aam Aadmi Party because we talk about people&rsquo;s issues. If there is an issue of farmers, our state presidents reach there; if there is an issue of tribals, our MLAs sit there,&rdquo; Mann said.
He emphasized that the party&rsquo;s welfare schemes are designed to benefit all citizens equally. &ldquo;Whatever schemes we have are for everyone. Everyone will benefit from them. When every citizen has an equal vote during elections, then why should schemes not be equal for everyone?&rdquo; he added.

Referring to the recent municipal election results, Mann added, &ldquo;The grand victory of Gopal Italia from Visavadar, that too by a large margin, is a very positive signal for the Aam Aadmi Party, and we will work with even more effort.&rdquo;
Mann also highlighted the success of the AAP&rsquo;s governance models in Delhi and Punjab, particularly in healthcare and education. &ldquo;The healthcare and education model of Arvind Kejriwal has been successfully implemented in Delhi and Punjab, and in the same way, we will take it to every household in Gujarat as well,&rdquo; he said.
On the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process, Mann called for transparency from the Election Commission. &ldquo;If any political party&mdash;whether a national party or a state-level party&mdash;has any kind of objection or doubt, then the Election Commission should itself come forward and provide clarification. The Election Commission should not impose conditions like &lsquo;apologize within 72 hours&rsquo; or issue pressure-driven instructions, but should conduct a transparent and credible investigation of the entire process and provide satisfactory answers to the public,&rdquo; he said.&nbsp;
Mann further warned, &ldquo;If fake voters continue to be created through SIR, then how will democracy survive? This is a dangerous situation for democracy.&rdquo;
Addressing educational concerns, Mann said, &ldquo;Regarding the UGC issue, it conducts major universities and large-scale examinations. My clear stand is that if there are objections on any issue&mdash;whether it concerns educational institutions, the Election Commission, or any other constitutional body&mdash;it is their responsibility to provide clarification and satisfaction.&rdquo;
Mann also spoke about Punjab&rsquo;s historical contributions and administrative concerns. &ldquo;Punjab has been at the forefront among the states that have made the highest sacrifices for the country. When the country needed food grains, Punjab&rsquo;s farmers carried out the Green Revolution and filled the nation&rsquo;s grain reserves. Despite this, Punjab does not have its own capital even today. Chandigarh, which is the joint capital of Punjab and Haryana, actually rightfully belongs to Punjab,&rdquo; he said.&nbsp;
Mann further highlighted the absence of a separate High Court in Punjab, pointing out that &ldquo;case pendency has increased significantly and the system is under heavy burden. In today&rsquo;s time, there should not be any state that does not have its own capital. Chandigarh is Punjab&rsquo;s capital and should remain Punjab&rsquo;s capital.&rdquo;

Gadhvi also reflected on the historical context of the Constitution, noting the efforts of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and his team. &ldquo;Our country&rsquo;s Constitution was prepared with two years, 11 months, and 18 days of dedicated work, studying the Constitutions of 60 countries,&rdquo; he said.
During his address, the AAP leader encouraged citizens to celebrate national festivals like Republic Day and Independence Day with enthusiasm to promote awareness about the values they represent. He also emphasised the importance of voting as a way to ensure capable governance. &ldquo;Earlier, we lived under monarchy, and rules were imposed upon us. With the Constitution, a system was established in which the people elect their representatives. Creating awareness about voting is crucial so that good leaders and governments are elected,&rdquo; Gadhvi said.

AAP MLA Chaitar Vasava has urged the GSSSB to relax minimum qualifying marks for Scheduled Tribe candidates in the Revenue Talati recruitment, citing constitutional provisions and reservation norms.

Aam Aadmi Party MLA Chaitar Vasava has submitted a representation to the Chairman of the Gujarat Subordinate Service Selection Board (GSSSB), raising concerns over the minimum qualifying marks prescribed for Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates in the recently conducted Revenue Talati recruitment examination.
In his representation, Vasava stated that the recruitment process for around 2,389 Revenue Talati posts fixed a mandatory minimum of 40 per cent marks in each paper for ST candidates, including the Gujarati and English papers, with 60 marks required out of 150 in one paper.
He argued that applying a uniform minimum qualifying standard to both reserved and unreserved categories goes against constitutional provisions and established reservation policies.
The MLA said the decision violates provisions under Article 16(4) and Article 335 of the Constitution of India, which relate to reservation in public employment. He pointed out that, across recruitment processes in the country, Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates are generally provided relaxation in minimum qualifying marks in view of their social and educational circumstances.
According to the representation, the current criteria could result in the exclusion of a large number of capable candidates from tribal areas. Vasava stated that such an outcome would amount to injustice, considering the background and access to resources available to candidates from Scheduled Tribe communities.
He demanded that under Revenue Talati Recruitment Advertisement No. 301, the results of Scheduled Tribe candidates should be prepared separately from those of general category candidates, and that appropriate relaxation should be granted in the minimum qualifying marks across all papers.
The MLA also referred to the Gujarat Lokrakshak recruitment process, stating that Scheduled Tribe candidates had earlier been deprived of their constitutional rights, and said it was important that similar issues were not repeated in the present recruitment.
In the representation, Vasava further stated that if a decision is not taken on the issue, members of the tribal community may be compelled to approach the judiciary or adopt a statewide peaceful agitation to seek justice.
Among the demands outlined were the relaxation or removal of the minimum qualifying marks for tribal candidates, the introduction of training and orientation programmes to support selected candidates before joining service, and a reiteration that reservation should be viewed as a means to ensure equality of opportunity rather than leaving seats vacant.

He also referenced the Harni boat tragedy in Vadodara, in which 12 children and two teachers drowned due to lack of safety jackets. Kejriwal stated that two years after the incident, families of the victims were still seeking justice and faced challenges when approaching authorities.
Kejriwal further alleged misallocation of tribal welfare funds, saying that large sums were spent on political events rather than public services. &ldquo;From the tribal welfare fund, 50 crore rupees were spent for the Prime Minister&rsquo;s rally. Samosas worth 2 crores, tents worth 5 crores, buses worth 7 crores&mdash;all from the money of tribals. With 50 crores, so many schools and hospitals could have been built,&rdquo; he said.
The AAP leaders outlined plans to strengthen the party organization through door-to-door campaigns and booth-level teams in preparation for upcoming elections. Kejriwal said the party intends to focus on farmers&rsquo; prosperity, youth employment, and improved public services.

As per their account, the mother of one of the deceased children sought justice from Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel during a public event, following which she was removed from the programme.
The families further alleged that since then, whenever senior BJP leaders visit Vadodara, members of the affected families are placed under house arrest.

Jamjodhpur MLA Hemant Khava said that problems for ordinary citizens have increased over the last 30 years. He pointed to a shortage of doctors at Arvind Hospital, considered the largest government hospital in Saurashtra, and said that Jamnagar lacks well-planned roads despite being a municipal corporation.&nbsp;
Referring to a recently constructed overbridge, Khava stated that there are perceptions it was built not for the public but to accommodate the Adani project, to prevent traffic issues related to it.
Khava said people are looking to AAP with hope and urged party workers to remain united, strengthen the organisation, and address issues faced by the smallest members of society in preparation for upcoming elections.

As part of the festival, the kitists have already visited places like Rajkot, Surat, Dholavira (in Kutch) and Statue of Unity (Narmada) during the last two days and enthralled the visitors, it said, adding that the festival in Ahmedabad will continue till January 14.&nbsp;
Last year, the festival attracted more than 3.83 lakh visitors across Gujarat.Through the 'International Kite Festival', Gujarat Tourism is attracting visitors to leading cultural and tourist destinations, such as Dholavira and the Statue of Unity.&nbsp;

Speaking to the media after the event, AAP MLA Chaitar Vasava said the party had received multiple representations from workers alleging denial of basic labour rights, including salary slips, provident fund, gratuity, bonuses, overtime wages and mediclaim facilities.
He also raised concerns over the proposed inclusion of Nayakwada and 11 other villages into the Vapi Municipal Corporation, alleging violations of constitutional provisions under the Fifth Schedule and the Panchayats (Extension to Scheduled Areas) Act (PESA).&nbsp;
Vasava claimed that the expansion could affect political reservations and land rights in tribal areas. He also rejected claims by BJP leaders that large numbers of AAP workers had joined the ruling party, calling such assertions misleading.
AAP MLA Gopal Italia, while addressing the gathering, criticised the functioning of the state administration, alleging that governance mechanisms were being used to suppress public grievances. He raised issues related to illegal liquor trade and infrastructure development, and accused the ruling establishment of prioritising political interests over public welfare. Italia stated that AAP aimed to represent workers, farmers, students and marginalised sections and called upon voters to support the party in upcoming elections.
State Organisation General Secretary Manoj Sorathiya, in his address, questioned the outcomes of three decades of BJP rule in Gujarat, citing issues related to roads, drinking water and public infrastructure. Referring to reports on the growth of assets of elected representatives, he said such data raised questions about governance and accountability. Sorathiya described local body elections as an important political milestone and said AAP was positioning itself as an alternative political force in the state.
The Parivartan Sabha concluded with party leaders appealing to residents to participate actively in local self-government elections and raise issues related to governance, environment and livelihoods.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Gujarat State General Secretary Sagar Rabari on Tuesday cited government and NITI Aayog data to raise concerns over drinking water access, economic indicators and governance in the state, while sharply criticising the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Addressing a press conference, Rabari said a recent report by the Water Resources Department showed that 57 per cent of households in Gujarat do not have access to clean drinking water, adding that the state ranks 30th nationally in terms of water quality and supply.
He also referred to the state&rsquo;s financial position, stating that Gujarat&rsquo;s debt has crossed Rs 4 lakh crore. Rabari questioned the outcomes of the BJP-led government&rsquo;s investment initiatives, including the Vibrant Gujarat Summits.
According to him, despite multiple editions of the summit, Gujarat has not ranked higher than third in foreign direct investment (FDI) and does not feature among the top five states in the current financial year.
Rabari alleged that the government&rsquo;s move to hold Vibrant events at the district level would increase expenditure without delivering tangible investment outcomes. He further claimed that Gujarat ranks 31st in malnutrition, 10th in per capita income, 12th in farmers&rsquo; income, and 18th in education quality, citing NITI Aayog data.
&ldquo;These are the gifts that the people of Gujarat have received during BJP&rsquo;s 32 years of rule,&rdquo; Rabari said, adding that the AAP would take these figures to the public to highlight what it describes as the current situation and future prospects of the state.
The AAP leader also levelled allegations of corruption against the BJP, claiming that corruption has become deeply entrenched during its rule. Referring to administrative actions, Rabari said that four district collectors have been suspended on corruption charges in the last three years, including the recent suspension of the Surendranagar collector, where the alleged amount involved runs into crores of rupees.
&ldquo;We can clearly say that no collector would dare to commit such massive corruption without the blessings of Kamalam,&rdquo; Rabari alleged. He further criticised the implementation of schemes such as Nal Se Jal, check dam projects, bridge construction, MNREGA, and toilet construction, claiming that funds were misused and outcomes failed to reach intended beneficiaries.
&ldquo;When Gujarat ranks 30th in water quality, 31st in malnutrition, 10th in per capita income, and 18th in education, I clearly state that if there is even a trace of shame left in the BJP and the Prime Minister, they should stop organizing Vibrant extravaganzas district by district,&rdquo; Rabari said, alleging that the events had not translated into meaningful foreign investment.
He also claimed that unemployment and crime were rising in the state due to a lack of new investment and alleged governance failures, and said the BJP should &ldquo;honestly accept that it does not know how to govern and should candidly resign.&rdquo;
The BJP has not issued a response to the allegations at the time of filing this report.

A sit-in protest at Nitrex Chemical India Limited in Jhagadia concluded after management agreed to implement 11 of 13 worker demands, including salary hikes and potential permanent employment.

A sit-in protest at Nitrex Chemical India Limited in Jhagadia GIDC, led by Aam Aadmi Party MLA Chaitar Vasava, concluded on Tuesday after management and workers reached an agreement.
MLA Chaitar Vasava said the protest began on Monday in response to 13 demands raised by the company&rsquo;s employees. &ldquo;We had been sitting on an indefinite sit-in protest at Nitrex Chemical India Limited for the last 24 hours. 
The workers presented their 13 demands to the company, and today discussions were held with the HR Head, CEO, and several unit managers,&rdquo; he stated.
According to Vasava, the company agreed to implement 11 of the 13 demands, with execution starting immediately. On the matter of salary revisions, the company assured that hikes will take effect from April 1, based on seniority. Additionally, proposals will be considered in the upcoming Board of Directors meeting to grant permanent employment to long-serving workers, following a similar approach to a previous intake of 50 employees.
The company also assured that no retaliation or harassment would occur against employees who participated in the protest, and that such disputes would not recur.
Vasava expressed satisfaction with the resolution and thanked workers, supporting leaders, police personnel, and media representatives for their role in facilitating a positive outcome.
