<p>E-commerce giant Flipkart may have dropped out of talks aimed at buying a stake in Zepto. As per a report by the Economic Times, A deal between Flipkart and Zepto has fallen through and isn't likely to be revived.</p>
<p>Zepo right now is in talks with a private equity fund to raise a fresh round of investment, The company is expected to get a valuation of approximately $2.5 billion.</p>
<p>&ldquo;The companies met and Flipkart made an offer to Zepto valuing it at under $2 billion.. but the deal didn&rsquo;t go ahead. Zepto&rsquo;s decision to opt out was centred around Flipkart wanting to pick up a majority stake in the startup..,&rdquo; said one of the persons cited in the ET report.</p>
<p>Flipkart itself wanted a majority stake in the startup, this shows the Walmart-backed e-commerce giant is interested in being a major player in the quick commerce industry. Notably, that is an area in which the company currently lacks.</p>
<p>The ET report further said that Flipkart is looking to launch its quick delivery service aimed at delivering goods in less than 30 minutes. The platform is expected to come to life in June and the company is setting up dark stores right now to meet the demand.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Flipkart's move to acquire or hold a majority stake in the fast-growing quick commerce is largely based on its growing demand and the pressure that it is putting on E-commerce giants like Amazon, Flipkart and Messho.&nbsp;</p>
<p>In the past month, several brokerage reports have highlighted the growing significance of quick commerce for brands and the potential pressure it may exert on major e-commerce players. According to a recent report by UBS, quick commerce has transitioned from being a "good to have" to an "indispensable" aspect. The report predicts that this emerging sector could achieve a gross merchandise value (GMV) of approximately $34 billion by FY29, with a total addressable market (TAM) potential reaching $520 billion.</p>

However, he was cleared of the charges later and Bansal continued to hold position in the board.</p>

<p>Despite his immediate contact with Flipkart customer care, the issue remained unresolved. Aryan explained, "I was instructed by Flipkart customer care to upload photos of the TV, which I did multiple times. Still, there was no resolution."</p>

<p>Flipkart didn&rsquo;t promptly process Aryan's return request. He mentioned, "First, they said they&rsquo;d resolve it by 24th October. <p>Seasonal jobs are essentially temporary positions that companies create during specific periods to meet heightened demand for their services. The festive season, spanning from September to November, is of paramount significance to e-commerce entities, accounting for approximately 50% of the Gross Merchandise Value (GMV).</p>
<p>In the previous year, the cumulative GMV for these companies amounted to approximately $12 billion, with a remarkable $6 billion arising solely from the festive season, as per insights from Redseer analysts.</p>
<p>Hemant Badri, Senior Vice President and Head of Supply Chain, Customer Experience, and ReCommerce at Flipkart Group, emphasized the colossal scale of TBBD, necessitating the augmentation of capacity, storage, sorting, packaging, human resources, training, delivery, and the entire supply chain. This scale of operations is perpetually unparalleled.</p>

<p>Flipkart has launched Spoyl which is an in-app fashion platform specifically targetting the Gen-Z population. Gen-Z refers to the population who is born between 1997 and 2012. Flipkart mentioned that Spoyl has over 40,000 fashion products, including western wear, accessories and footwear, in a diverse collection of designs.</p>
<p>This comes months after Flipkart's Myntra launched its Gen Z focused platform FWD. As per Flipkart 25% of its customer base comprises of Gen-Zs. Flipkart Fashion's VP Sandeep Karwa has said that the company is sitting on a gold mine as the customers of this age group are already in Flipkart.&nbsp;</p>
<p>&ldquo;We are sitting on a goldmine with these customers already present on Flipkart. However, there is a lot to be done with Gen Z customers who are now turning 16. So that 25% is a big base", said Karwa.</p>
<p>According to a report by Bain &amp; Co, one in three online shoppers is a Gen Z and their online fashion purchase is at entry-price points. A separate report by McKinsey said Gen Z loves expressive clothes, wants to stand out, and has an ever-changing style.</p>
<p>Karwa also said that the company would look at customer engagement and business performance intially before prioritising the kind of business the company is expecting from the launch.&nbsp;</p>
<p>&ldquo;There are no specific targets but the metric for this launch is going to be engagement and how consumers are looking at selection. The first six months will be a learning phase, and then maybe we will prioritise the kind of business we are doing with this launch&rdquo;, said Karwa.</p>
<p>Spoyl is also a part of Flilpkart&rsquo;s commitment to the government&rsquo;s &lsquo;Make in India&rsquo; initiative for domestic manufacturing.</p>

<p>Amazon and Flipkart Health plus are among the 20 online sellers that have been issued show-cause notices by the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) over the online sale of drugs in violation of norms.</p>
<p>The show-cause notice dated February 8 by DCGI V G Somani cited a Delhi High Court order dated December 12, 2018, which prohibits online sales of medicines without a licence.</p>
<p>The notice stated that the DCGI had forwarded the order to all state and Union Territories in May and November 2019 and again on February 3 for necessary action and compliance.</p>
<p>"In spite of the same, you are found to be engaged in such activities without a licence," the notice to the online medicine sellers said.</p>
<p>"...You are hereby asked to show cause within 2 days from the date of issue of this notice, why action shall not be taken against you for sale, or stock, or exhibit or offer for sale or distribution of drugs in contravention of the provisions of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act 1940 and rules made thereunder," the notice said.</p>
<p>The notice states that the sale or stock or exhibit or offer for sale or distribution of any drug requires a licence from the concerned state licensing authority and conditions of a licence are required to be complied with by the licence holders.</p>

The notice has asked E-pharmacies to explain why action should not be taken against them for selling and distributing drugs in contravention of provisions of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act 1940.

<p>Days after an alleged acid attack on a schoolgirl in Delhi, e-commerce company Flipkart told the police that the acid was sold by an Agra-based firm. The acid had been bought for ₹600, police said.</p>
<p>Police had sent a notice to Flipkart on 15 December 2022 after it emerged that the acid was bought via the online platform. Investigators will now be visiting the Agra.</p>
<p>On 14 December, 2 bike-borne men had allegedly thrown acid at a 17-year-old while she was going to school. Police arrested 3 persons - prime accused Sachin Arora and his two friends Harshit Aggarwal and Virender Singh.</p>
