Delhi acid attack: Flipkart says substance used to attack 17-yr-old girl sold by Agra-based firm

Days after an alleged acid attack on a schoolgirl in Delhi, e-commerce company Flipkart told the police that the acid was sold by an Agra-based firm. The acid had been bought for ₹600, police said.

Police had sent a notice to Flipkart on 15 December 2022 after it emerged that the acid was bought via the online platform. Investigators will now be visiting the Agra.

On 14 December, 2 bike-borne men had allegedly thrown acid at a 17-year-old while she was going to school. Police arrested 3 persons - prime accused Sachin Arora and his two friends Harshit Aggarwal and Virender Singh.

During interrogation, it was learnt that Arora and the victim were friends till September. They fell out and this led to the accused to attack her, police said, adding that he lived in the girl's neighbourhood.
