The 69th edition of the Filmfare Awards is all set to take place in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, on January 28, 2024.&nbsp;
The Gujarat Tourism Corporation Limited (TGCL) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Worldwide Media Pvt Ltd in July this year to organize the event. The signing ceremony was attended by Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Managing Director of Times Group Vineet Jain.
Actor Tiger Shroff represented the Hindi film industry at the ceremony. At the event, he shared his special connection with Gujarat.
&lsquo;I have a special relation with Gujarat as my grandfather was Gujarati. And speaking of Filmfare, I have had a beautiful relationship with this award show. I attended the Filmfare Awards for the first time in 1990. That year my father (Jackie Shroff) won the Best Actor Award at Filmfare and I have been attending the award show since then. I also got opportunities to perform at several editions,&rsquo; Tiger said.
&lsquo;This is going to be an amazing experience. Thank you to the CM of Gujarat for opening his arms up to the film industry, to Filmfare,&rsquo; he added.

&lsquo;Black&rsquo; (2005) has reportedly won the maximum number of Filmfare awards in a single year. The Filmfare awards honour artistic and technical excellence in Hindi Film industry. Salman Khan has been the Brand Ambassador of the Filmfare Awards since 2009.  

The 69th edition of Filmfare Awards will be hosted by Gujarat. A MoU was signed between Filmfare and the Government of Gujarat.

Filmfare Awards 2024 will be hosted by Gujarat for the first time after a memorandum of understanding was signed between the award organisers and the state govt.
Times Group MD Vineet Jain made the announcement in the presence of Bhupendrabhai Patel, the Chief Minister of Gujarat and ministers from various departments including Tourism, Cultural Activities, Forest and Environment, Climate Change.
Jain added that after this event Gujarat will become a prominent destination for entertainment industry. &nbsp;

The nominations for the upcoming Filmfare Awards were recently announced. Sanjay Leela Bhansali's &lsquo;Gangubai Kathiawadi&rsquo;, starring Alia Bhatt, has earned ten nods including Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor in a leading role (Female), Best Music Album and Best Debut (male). Vivek Agnihotri's &lsquo;The Kashmir Files&rsquo; is competing in six categories including Best Film, Best Director and Best Actor in a leading role (Male).
Ayushmann Khurrana&rsquo;s &lsquo;Badhaai Do&rsquo; and Ranbir Kapoor Alia Bhatt starrer &lsquo;Brahmastra Part One: Shiva&rsquo; are also among the most nominated films this year.

Kangana Ranaut is back in news again and yet again for the wrong reasons. This time round the actor took Filmfare head-on after she was nominated for the Best Actress award for her role in ‘Thalaivii’. After the film magazine removed her from the list of nominated, the actor decided to sue the publication.
Filmfare also called Kangana’s accusation ‘patently false’ and said that they reserve all rights to pursue any legal action against the actor’s malicious and defamatory statements.
In all likelihood, the war of words will now move to a court. And, Kangana is not new to legal troubles.

As Bollywood was grappling with the death of Sushant Singh Rajput, Kangana’s remark triggered a political furor as she compared Pakistan Occupied Kashmir with Mumbai. She accused Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut of threatening her during an interview.
The bitter exchange between the two on twitter was followed by BMC carrying out demolition at her office in the Bandra. She moved the Bombay High Court against the demolition. The court granted her relief and the demolition was stopped.

Kriti Sanon is on cloud nine after she bagged the Best Actor in a Lead Role (female) award for &lsquo;Mimi&rsquo; at the 67th Filmfare Awards on Tuesday night (August 30). Taking to Instagram, she penned a gratitude note, saying that her dream has come true. She posted a video in which she is seen kissing her trophy and she wrote the her heart is full as the black lady is finally hers and thanked Filmfare for this much-needed. In her note, she also thanked director Laxman Utekar for giving her the opportunity to headline &lsquo;Mimi&rsquo;, in which portrayed the role of a surrogate mother.&nbsp;
As soon as Kriti posted the clip, her comment section was filled with congratulatory messages. Ranveer Singh and Rhea Kapoor were among those who commented on her post.&nbsp;

Filmfare Awards 2022 : The 67th Filmfare Awards ceremony was held on Tuesday night (August 30) with several Bollywood celebrities in attendance. Ranveer Singh, who was the host of the award show, also bagged the <a href="https://www.editorji.com/entertainment-news/bollywood/67th-wolf777news-filmfare-awards-2022-ranveer-singh-kriti-sanon-bag-best-actor-for-83-mimi-1661934208978">Filmfare Award</a> for Best Actor for his film '83&rsquo;. The award was presented to him by none other than his wife-actor and the film&rsquo;s co-producer <a href="https://www.editorji.com/entertainment-news/bollywood/deepika-padukone-and-ranveer-singh-s-griha-pravesh-puja-at-their-new-home-in-alibaug-1660980329283">Deepika Padukone</a>. The couple was all smiles at the event and Ranveer also gave Deepika a hug and a kiss on the cheek. After receiving the award, the 'Simmba' actor joked, &lsquo;Ranveer Singh powered by Deepika Padukone.&rsquo;
While hosting the event, Ranveer also talked about purchasing a property in Bandra, which is next to Shah Rukh Khan's Mannat. He revealed that Deepika has hired an interior designer from Bengaluru to decorate their house.
The duo has reportedly bought a house worth Rs 119 crore.
'I finally bought my own place after 12 years. Deepika has hired an interior designer from Bengaluru to decorate the place. It&rsquo;s been 10 years of us being together,' Ranveer said.&nbsp;
Earlier, the actor engaged the audience with an energetic performance, a video of which is going viral on social media. In the clip, he is seen grooving to &lsquo;Khalibali&rsquo; from his 2018 film &lsquo;Padmaavat&rsquo;, which co-starred his wife Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor, and Jim Sarbh.

Kangana Ranaut took to Instagram stories on Sunday and claimed that she would sue the leading magazine Filmfare for nominating her in the Best Actress category for ‘Thalaivii’. She wrote that it is 'beneath her dignity, work ethics and value system' to be a part of such 'corrupt' practices like Filmfare.
‘I've banned unethical, corrupt and totally unfair practices like @filmfare since 2014, but since I have been getting many calls from them for attending their award function this year as they want to give me award for Thalaivii... I am shocked to know that they are still nominating me. It is beneath my dignity, work ethics and value system to encourage such corrupt practices in anyway, that is why I have decided to sue @filmfare ... thanks,’ read her note.
Earlier, Kangana called for a boycott of Oscars and Grammy when they did not pay In Memorium tributes to veteran singer Lata Mangeshkar. ‘We must take strong stands against any local awards who claim to be international and yet ignore and intentionally sideline legendary artists because of their race or ideologies... both Oscar and Grammy failed to give tribute to Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar Ji... our media should totally boycott these biased local events who claim to be global awards...,’ Kangana wrote on her Instagram Stories. She also wrote, ‘We should boycott these snooty western awards.’
Now, Filmfare has revoked the actor’s nomination. In a statement, the magazine said, ‘It pains us at Filmfare, today, to be subjected to unwarranted malicious remarks by Ms. Kangana Ranaut. For six decades, Filmfare Awards, and Filmfare, at large, has been a platform that celebrates and honours talent in the Film Industry impartially and with utmost transparency. It is our strong ethic that has helped us in gaining trust of our audiences and the film industry. As is customary during the awards, Filmfare’s Executive Editor informed Ms. Ranaut about her nomination in the Best Actor in a Leading Role, Female Category and asked her for her address to send across the invitation.’
They also shared an excerpt from their message to Kangana and said that at no time was there any insinuation of an award being given to her or any request for performance at the event made. They called the accusation made by Kangana ‘patently false’ and said that their invitation to her was an effort in bringing together everyone in a collective celebration of what brings this nation together, i.e. Indian Cinema. 
Concluding the statement, Filmfare announced that they are revoking Kangana’s nomination and they reserve all rights to pursue any legal action against her malicious and defamatory statements tarnishing the reputation and goodwill.
Kangana was nominated in Best Actress in a Leading Role this year for ‘Thalaivii’ along with Kiara Advani, Kriti Sanon, Parineeti Chopra, Taapsee Pannu and Vidya Balan. 
Previously, she has been awarded four Filmfare Awards including Best Debut for ‘Gangster’, Best Supporting Actress for ‘Fashion’, Best Actress for ‘Queen’, and Best Actress (Critics) for ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’.
