Virat, who has met Federer twice, first in 2015 and then in 2018, congratulated the 20-time Grand Slam champion on a phenomenal career. The video was shared by Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) on their social media handles. 
"I personally had the chance to meet you in Australian Open in 2018, something that I'll never ever forget in my life. One thing that stood out for me even watching you play, was the fact that so many people around the world, not just in the world of tennis got behind you, supporting you and that kind of unity I've never seen for any other individual athlete ever. Federer announced his retirement last week via social media and said that it was something he understood he needed to do after running into setbacks this July during his rehabilitation from what was his third surgery on his right knee in about 18 months.
