The victorious farmers called off their protest last week after the Modi government repealed the three farm laws and later agreed to farmers' other demands.
While the farmers have cleared the Delhi borders, traffic on the Singhu and Ghazipur borders will normalise only next month as the Delhi Police has to clear the concrete barriers that were erected to stop farmers from moving into the Capital.

During the hearing, Prasad apprised Additional Sessions Judge Amitabh Rawat that Imam attempted to create complete anarchy and gave divisive speeches during the protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and the National Register of Citizens (NRC).
The SPP read out a January 16 speech given by the JNU student in Aligarh and said, &ldquo;He [Sharjeel Imam] begins this speech by saying 'As-salamu alaykum', which shows that it is only subjected to one community&rdquo;.
&ldquo;The people called upon to take action were also from one community. The speech was definitely divisive. It was not made for the general public at large but a specific community. He is attempting to create complete anarchy,&rdquo; Prasad added.

Furthermore, the purported speeches made by Imam during the protests were read out by the prosecutor line-by-line during the virtual hearing.
One portion of the speech as read by the SPP stated, &ldquo;It is our responsibility to cut off Assam. They [the government] will listen to us only when Assam is cut off from the rest of the country. You are aware of the condition of Muslims in Assam.&rdquo; Imam is accused of offenses relating to sedition, promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, imputations prejudicial to national integration, and public mischief under the Indian Penal Code, and indulging in unlawful activities under the UAPA.
Delhi Police had filed a charge sheet against Imam in the case, in which it alleged that he allegedly gave speeches inciting hatred, contempt, and disaffection towards the Central Government and instigated the people which led to the violence in December 2019.
&ldquo;In the garb of CAA, he (Imam) exhorted people of a particular community to block highways leading to major cities and resort to ''chakka jaam''. Also, in the name of opposing CAA, he openly threatened to cut off Assam and other Northeastern states from the rest of the country,&rdquo; the charge sheet said.

Following a high level meeting on Friday, Superintendents of Police of all districts in Delhi have been directed to be on alert ahead of Independence Day.
Traffic advisory has been issued for 15 Aug around the Red Fort. Security has been tightened across the national capital and the city police have been instructed to check vehicles and identity cards of commuters.&nbsp;
As per the advisory, eight roads including SP Mukherjee Marg, Chandni Chowk Road, Esplanade Road, will be closed for general public from 4 am to 10 am.
Police also banned flying like para-gliders, para-motors, micro light aircraft etc. in the national capital till August 16

The Delhi Police said, it is handling the matter as per law and communal disharmony will not be tolerated. The Police registered a case on Monday after purported videos showing anti-Muslim slogans at the protest in Jantar Mantar surfaced on social media.
A large number of people had attended the protest organised by Bharat Jodo Aandolan at Jantar Mantar on Sunday. Shipra Srivastava, media in-charge of Bharat Jodo Aandolan, said the protest was held under the leadership of advocate and former BJP spokesperson Ashwini Upadhyay.

Purported videos of the event showed people shouting slogans threatening harm to Muslims. 
Shipra Srivastava, media in-charge of Bharat Jodo Movement has distanced herself from the allegations of inflammatory slogans. She said, it was a protest against colonial laws used to which still exist, and protesters were also there to call for a Uniform Civil Code.
She went on to say that adding that among 5,000 people, if five-six people in some corner were shouting such slogans, then they would disassociate themselves from them.

An inquiry has been ordered for a group of Delhi police personnel after they posed for the camera with two-time Olympic medallist wrestler Sushil Kumar. The photographs, which show Kumar smiling, have gone viral.
On Friday morning, Kumar was being taken from Mandoli jail to Tihar jail, the cops posted with the special cell and the 3rd battalion of Delhi Armed police took pictures with the wrestler as they were asked to share pictures of high-risk prisoners with their seniors so that they can monitor their activities.
However, the cops on duty decided to have their own fan-meet.&nbsp;Apart from sharing the photos with their seniors, the cops also shared the pictures on their official WhatsApp groups, and with their relatives.
Delhi Police Special Cell arrested Sushil Kumar on May 23, in connection with the alleged murder of Saagar Dhankar, who was beaten to death in a clash involving two groups inside Chhatrasal stadium.
