A man whose last rites were performed by his family members after he was declared "dead" due to Covid-19 at a hospital has returned home after two years in Madhya Pradesh's Dhar district.
The family members of Kamlesh Patidar, 35, were taken by surprise on Saturday when he knocked the door of his maternal aunt's house in Karodkala village at around 6 am, almost two years after they performed his last rites, a family member said.
Kamlesh Patidar had fallen ill during the second Covid-19 wave. He was admitted to a hospital and later doctors declared him dead. After the hospital handed over the "body" to them, the family members performed his last rites, his cousin Mukesh Patidar told reporters on Saturday.
"Now, he has returned home but he has not revealed anything about where he stayed during this period," the cousin said.
Kanwan police station in-charge Ram Singh Rathore said according to the family members, Kamlesh Patidar suffered from the coronavirus infection in 2021 and was admitted to a hospital in Vadodara (Gujarat).
The doctors declared him dead due to COVID-19 infection, following which the family members performed last rites of the body given by the hospital in Vadodara and then returned to their village, he said.
The family members came to know that he was alive when he returned home on Saturday, Rathore said.
The matter will be clear after recording statement of Kamlesh Patidar, the official said.

The Union Health Ministry on Thursday said that India has been reporting 8,000 Covid-19 cases on an average daily for the last week and the overall positivity of the country is at 0.92%. 
It also said that since December 26 India has been reporting over 10,000 cases daily. 
Addressing a press conference, Joint Health Secretary Luv Aggarwal said that the weekly positivity rate of more than 10% is being noted in 8 districts including 6 districts from Mizoram, one from Arunachal Pradesh, Kolkata in West Bengal. He added that the weekly case positivity rate is between 5-10% in 14 districts. 
Talking about vaccination, Aggarwal said that approximately 90% of the adult population in India has been vaccinated against Covid-19 with the first dose.

Addressing a press conference, Joint Health Secretary&nbsp;Luv Aggarwal&nbsp;said that the weekly positivity rate of more than 10% is being noted in 8 districts including 6 districts from Mizoram, one from Arunachal Pradesh, Kolkata in West Bengal. He added that the weekly case positivity rate is between 5-10% in 14 districts.&nbsp;

Talking about vaccination, Aggarwal&nbsp;said that approximately 90% of the adult population in India has been vaccinated against Covid-19 with the first dose.&nbsp;

The Delhi Disaster Management Authority sounded the yellow alert under its Graded Response Action Plan or GRAP on Tuesday, after the Covid positivity rate was recorded above 0.5 per cent in the national capital for two consecutive days.

The response is mostly the same as<a href="https://www.editorji.com/india-news/delhi-govt-imposes-covid-19-yellow-alert-schools-to-shut-public-transport-to-run-at-50-capacity-1640690358371" target="_blank"> 'yellow' alert</a> except that malls and shops of non-essential goods and services will be allowed to open from 10 am to 6 pm.
The Delhi Metro will run at 33 per cent of its seating capacity in Amber alert while dining facilities in restaurants will not be allowed, but take away service will continue.
The DDMA, at its meeting on Wednesday, decided that the Covid-related restrictions imposed under the yellow alert will continue for the time being and the authorities will monitor the situation for a while before deciding on fresh curbs.&nbsp;

"I just wanted you to hear from me that I tested positive this morning for COVID. My symptoms are like a cold, I have a scratchy throat and a bit of a runny nose," the actor said in a 30-second video.
"But I’m fine and I’m just going to do everything I can to get better ASAP and as soon as I’m cleared I’ll be back on stage heading to River City," he added.

A yellow alert has been sounded in Delhi and some restrictions imposed under the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) in view of rising number of Covid cases in the city, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Tuesday.
The yellow alert entails restrictions like night curfew, closure of schools and colleges, opening of non essential shops based on an odd even basis, halved seating capacity in metro trains and buses among others.
The chief minister, after reviewing the Covid situation at a high level meeting, said virus cases were rising fast in Delhi but there was no need to panic as most people have mild symptoms.
The yellow alert is imposed when the Covid positivity stays above 0.5 percent for two consecutive days. The positivity rate in Delhi has been above 0.5 percent in past two days.
Kejriwal said it was unfortunate that people were visiting markets and malls without masks, and appealed to them to follow Covid appropriate behaviour.

A yellow alert has been sounded in Delhi and some restrictions imposed under the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) in view of rising number of Covid cases in the city, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Tuesday.
The yellow alert entails restrictions like night curfew, closure of schools and colleges, opening of non essential shops based on an odd even basis, halved seating capacity in metro trains and buses among others.

The chief minister, after reviewing the Covid situation at a high level meeting, said virus cases were rising fast in Delhi but there was no need to panic as most people have mild symptoms.
The yellow alert is imposed when the Covid positivity stays above 0.5 percent for two consecutive days. The positivity rate in Delhi has been above 0.5 percent in past two days.
Kejriwal said it was unfortunate that people were visiting markets and malls without masks, and appealed to them to follow Covid appropriate behaviour.

The announcement comes a day after the Subject Expert Committee on Covid-19 of the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation recommended granting emergency use authorisation to the Covid-19 vaccines Covovax and Corbevax with certain conditions.
It also had recommended granting restricted emergency use approval to the drug Molnupiravir for treatment of adult patients with Covid-19 and who have high risk of progression of the disease.
With this approval, the number of Covid vaccines which have received emergency use authorisation in the country has increased to eight.
Six Covid-19 vaccines -- Serum Institute's Covishield, Bharat Biotech's Covaxin, Zydus Cadila's ZyCoV-D, Russia's Sputnik V and the US-made Moderna and Johnson and Johnson -- had already received approval from the Indian drug regulator earlier.
