Ahead of the 95th Academy Awards, the organisers are taking all preventive measures to avoid another possible slapgate incident. They have a new &lsquo;crisis team&rsquo; in place in response to the 2022 Oscars, where actor Will Smith walked on stage and slapped comedian Chris Rock.
During an interview with Time Magazine, Bill Kramer, CEO of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, was asked if there are any measures to avoid potential surprises. He said, &lsquo;Absolutely. And that's why you want someone like Jimmy (Kimmel) on stage who is used to dealing with live TV. Things don't always go as planned. So you have a host in place who can really pivot and manage those moments. But we have a whole crisis team, something we've never had before, and many plans in place. We've run many scenarios. So it is our hope that we will be prepared for anything that we may not anticipate right now but that we're planning for just in case it does happen.&rsquo;
Last year, Chris Rock had made a joke about Will Smith's wife-actor Jada Pinkett Smith being in &lsquo;G.I. Jane&rsquo; because of her shaved head, which triggered &lsquo;The Pursuit Of Happyness&rsquo; actor and he slapped him.
For the unversed, Jada suffers from a condition called alopecia. After the slap incident, Will Smith had apologised to the Academy, the nominees and Chris Rock.

Taking to social media, Will posted a video where he reacts to a video of a woman who explains how people can ask objects what they think of them. She added, &lsquo;You will get an answer in your mind from your intuition&rsquo;. In the video, he is seen posing with the trophy.
The woman in the video says, &lsquo;So, for example, you can pick up a pen and ask it how it sees you or what it thinks of you, and you will get an answer in your mind from your intuition&rsquo;. After patiently listening to her for a long time, the actor picks up his Oscar trophy. The clip ends when he was about to ask the Oscar statuette a question.
As soon as the video was shared, fans started showering Will with love and praises.

She said that the organisation&rsquo;s response to Will slapping Chris at the 2022 Oscars ceremony was 'inadequate' and that 'they must act swiftly, compassionately and decisively' on similar issues in the future.
&lsquo;We learned from this that the academy must be fully transparent and accountable in our actions and particularly in times of crisis you must act swiftly, compassionately and decisively for ourselves and for our industry. You should and can expect no less form us going forward,&rsquo; Yang said.
She also mentioned that all categories will be shown live on the March 12 ABC telecast and acceptance speeches at the ceremony have to be kept to 45 seconds. According to film distributor Warangal Srinu, he has lost 65 per cent of his investment. He also alleged that there was an elaborate plan to ‘sabotage’ the film’s collections. 
However, as per a report in ETimes, the film's producer-director Puri Jagannadh will compensate the distributors who have suffered. He will reportedly meet the distributors and execute the compensation soon.

Pallavi Joshi countered earlier claims made by a few actors, such as Vijay Deverakonda and Akshay Kumar, who stated that boycott trend has a negative impact on the economy. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has said that it is &ldquo;upset and outraged" over Hollywood star Will Smith's behaviour during the 2022 Oscars ceremony during which he slapped actor-comedian Chris Rock on stage.
AMPAS president David Rubin and CEO Dawn Hudson sent a letter to the Academy members, promising that the organisation will take "appropriate action" over the incident after an official process that would take a &ldquo;few weeks".
The letter read that the Academy is&nbsp;&ldquo;upset and outraged" over the "unacceptable and harmful behaviour" on stage by a nominee.&nbsp;
It further added that they condemn Will Smith's actions transpired on Sunday night. As a result, an "appropriate action" will be taken against Mr. Smith by the&nbsp;Academy&rsquo;s Board of Governors.&nbsp;
The live telecast of the 94th Academy Awards on Sunday was marred by the incident in which Rock cracked a joke at actor Jada Pinkett Smith's expense and Smith responded by slapping the actor-comic on stage.
Smith later won the best actor trophy for his performance in the movie "King Richard". He apologised to the Oscars organisers in his acceptance speech but not to Rock, who declined to press charges against Smith.
On Monday, the "Bad Boys" star publicly tendered an apology to Rock on Instagram. The letter further stated that it will continue to update the members on further developments but they also asked people to respect the Board, Academy staff and the process.&nbsp;
