In her upcoming documentary, the singer has revealed hiding her diagnosis of &lsquo;stiff-person syndrome&rsquo; from her fans and pretending to be fine even as the condition held her career hostage. Fans will get a sneak peek into the life of&nbsp; legendary singer and her battle with the neurological condition in the unfiltered documentary. &nbsp;
<h2>Celine breaks down&nbsp;</h2>
In the no-holds-barred documentary, the legendary singer made confessions and apologised to her fans. &ldquo;There are moments where I cheated, and I tapped the microphone, like it was the microphone&rsquo;s fault,&rdquo; Celine can be heard saying in the documentary that premiered at BAFTA in London.
&ldquo;I did what my mum said, I didn&rsquo;t flinch. And there are also moments where we had to stop the show. &lsquo;Quick change (of clothes)&rsquo; and I never came back. The lie is too heavy now,&rdquo; the singer added, revealing that she tried to hide her diagnosis for some time, before making the big revelation. Celine broke down as she confessed how she pretended that &lsquo;nothing was wrong&rsquo;. The singer addressed her fans and sought their apology. &ldquo;I&rsquo;m sorry it has taken me so long to reach out to you,&rdquo; she said. &nbsp;
The 56-year-old singer received a standing ovation during the premiere of her documentary. &nbsp;

The singer was diagnosed with stiff-person syndrome in 2022. Her condition impacted her ability to perform after which she has been away from public life.&nbsp;
Celine surprised her fans at the Grammy 2024 where she presented the award for &lsquo;album of the year&rsquo; to Taylor Swift. The five-time Grammy-winner received a standing ovation as she graced the stage. &nbsp;

<h3>What is Stiff Person Syndrome?</h3>
Stiff Person Syndrome is a rare neurological disease that affects the central nervous system, specifically the brain and spinal cord and can get triggered by sudden movement, cold temperature and stress. According to the Stiff Person Foundation, in extreme cases, patient suffering from the condition might get bed-ridden, disabled and be unable to work.
<h3>Symptoms of Stiff Person Syndrome</h3>
The condition causes muscle stiffness that may come and go but remains constant over time. In most cases, leg muscles are the ones that become stiff followed by muscles of other body parts including face.
<h3>Treatments of Stiff Person Syndrome</h3>
According to the Johns Hopkins Stiff Person Syndrome Center treatment for this neurological disorder are immunomodulating therapies, symptomatic therapies, behavioral and physical therapies that the centre itself offers.

Singer Celine Dion has postponed her upcoming European tour dates. She took to social media on Thursday and shared a video in which she opened up about a health issue she has been facing for a long time. Dion revealed that she has been diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome, a rare neurological disorder that is incurable.
In the video, Celine Dion said, &lsquo;Recently, I&rsquo;ve been diagnosed with a very rare neurological condition called Stiff Person Syndrome, which affects something like one in a million people. While we&rsquo;re still learning about this rare condition, we now know that this is what has been causing all of the spasms that I&rsquo;ve been having.&rsquo;
The five-time Grammy winner said that these spasms affect every aspect of her daily life, sometimes causing difficulties when she walks and not allowing her to use her vocal cords to sing the way she used to.
The singer informed her fans that she won't be ready to restart her tour in Europe in February but she is working towards making her health better so that she is back on the stage soon.
Celine's 'Courage World Tour' began in 2019 and was hit by the pandemic just after 52 shows. She later had to cancel the entire North American leg of the tour due to her health problems.
