Former Delhi minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Satyendar Jain has filed a defamation suit against BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj, accusing her of making defamatory remarks in a television interview. The Rouse Avenue Court is scheduled to hear the complaint today.
Jain alleges that Swaraj, during her interview on October 5, 2023, falsely claimed that ₹3 crore, 1.8 kilograms of gold, and 133 gold coins were recovered from his residence. He contends that these allegations were entirely baseless and politically motivated to damage his reputation.
Furthermore, Jain claims that Swaraj's accusations of him being "corrupt" and "fraudulent" were malicious and caused significant harm to his personal and professional standing. He asserts that the false statements have not only tarnished his image as a public representative but also affected his reputation within his family and society.

Professionally, Bansuri Swaraj is an advocate at the Supreme Court of India with over 15 years of experience. She was enrolled with the Bar Council of Delhi in 2007 and has handled various high-profile cases in different legal forums.&nbsp;
Bansuri's expertise includes disputes related to contracts, real estate, tax, international commercial arbitrations, and criminal trials. She has also served as the Additional Advocate General for the State of Haryana while maintaining her private legal practice.
<h2>Bansuri Swaraj's education:&nbsp;</h2>
Bansuri Swaraj's academic background includes a bachelor's degree in English literature from the University of Warwick and a law degree from the BPP Law School in London. She obtained her Barrister at Law qualification from the Hon&rsquo;ble Inn of Inner Temple, London, and holds a Master of Studies from the University of Oxford's St. Catherine&rsquo;s College.
Before her candidacy, Bansuri Swaraj was appointed as the co-convenor of the legal cell of BJP in Delhi last year.
