In an interview with NPR, James said, &lsquo;If you watch Way of Water at home on a reasonably large flat screen TV with a decent sound system and you sit close enough and that way across the room, you're going to have a good experience. I think when you start looking at something on a phone, you're sort of missing the point. Going to a movie theater is less about the size of the screen and the perfection of the sound system. And it's more about a decision to not multitask.&rsquo;
The Oscar-winning director further added, &lsquo;I think that's the critical part that people are missing. You're making a deal between yourself and a piece of art to give it your full attention. And you don't when you're at home. People don't cry as much when they watch a movie at home as they will in a movie theater. You don't have the depth of emotion.&rsquo;

James Cameron's &lsquo;Avatar: The Way of Water&rsquo; continues its successful run at the Indian box office. The sequel to the 2009 blockbuster showed a strong hold over the second week and the film entered the Rs 300 crore club within 10 days of its release.
According to a report on the trade website Box Office India, &lsquo;Avatar: The Way of Water&rsquo; collected Rs 21 crore in India on Saturday (December 24) with around 70-75 percent occupancy. It is the highest collection ever for a Hollywood film in the second Saturday in India.
The film then went on to earn Rs 24-26 crore on Sunday, December 25, bringing the total collection of the film to Rs 300 crore.
According to trade analyst Ramesh Bala, the movie has crossed $850 million globally. He tweeted &lsquo;#AvatarTheWayOfWater crosses $600 Million Internationally and $250 Million at the North America Box office, $850 Million Total.. (sic).&rsquo;
Director James Cameron had quoted that the film would make profits when it reaches $2 billion.&nbsp;

Brett Chapman, a Native American civil rights attorney, also called out Avatar and tweeted, &lsquo;Avatar was a White savior story at its core and James Cameron said the Lakota should have 'fought harder' with the foresight that their descendants would all be suicidal. I won&rsquo;t be seeing the new one. It does nothing for Native Americans but suck oxygen for itself at our expense.&rsquo;

&lsquo;We said we will give 5 per cent more as a special case for Avatar 2. But, they didn&rsquo;t agree. We usually pay 55 per cent share in the first week. This time, we offered 60 per cent,&rsquo; Rakesh told Indianexpress.com.
However, he added that negotiations are still on with the producers and he is hopeful that they could find an agreeable solution soon.

Director James Cameron opened up on why it took him over a decade to make the sequel of the blockbuster first 'Avatar' movie. &lsquo;Avatar: The Way of Water&rsquo; is set to hit the theatres this month and James is all ready to helm the third and fourth sequel of the film but it still depends on how the second part works.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the director said, &lsquo;I started confronting this issue of, Do I even want to make another movie, let alone another Avatar movie?' He also added that the first part was &lsquo;a movie that&rsquo;s asking you to cry for a tree.&rsquo; He mentioned that the environmental issues and the issue of climate change played a huge role in the sequel.

'Avatar: The Way of Water,' the first sequel to James Cameron's science-fiction epic 'Avatar' is all set to release worldwide in December and fans are eagerly waiting to see what the director has in store for them. However, Cameron who initially shared his plan to direct a total of five 'Avatar' movies himself has now stated that it may not happen after all. 
In an interview with Empire, James Cameron said that the 'Avatar' films are 'kind of all-consuming' and he would like to pass the baton to a director who he can trust to take over. He added that he wishes to do some other stuff that he's interested in. 
'I’ve got some other things I’m developing as well that are exciting. I think eventually over time – I don’t know if that’s after three or after four – I’ll want to pass the baton to a director that I trust to take over, so I can go do some other stuff that I’m also interested in. Or maybe not. I don’t know,' he informed Empire. 
Earlier, Cameron had let Robert Rodriguez direct 2019 film 'Alita: Battle Angel.'
The filmmaker said that the fourth installment of 'Avatar' would depend on market forces and he hopes that he gets to make the fourth and fifth part of the franchise as it's one big story. 
'I got more excited as I went along. Movie four is a corker. It’s a motherfucker. I actually hope I get to make it. But it depends on market forces. Three is in the can so it’s coming out regardless. I really hope that we get to make four and five because it’s one big story, ultimately,' Cameron told Empire. 
Set over a decade after the events of the first film, 'Avatar: The Way of Water' will see Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Stephen Lang, and Giovanni Ribisi reprising their roles. The film will also star Kate Winslet, Cliff Curtis, Edie Falco, Michelle Yeoh, Jemaine Clement, and Vin Diesel.
