After the blockbuster success of Animal in 2023, Ranbir Kapoor is now shooting for Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana. However, Animal, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, has truly been a game-changer for the actor, dominating the box office and paving the way for an exciting future. Kapoor recently revealed that the film will evolve into a trilogy, with the second installment, Animal Park, set to begin production in 2027.
In an interview with Deadline Hollywood, Kapoor shared insights into the trilogy's development, saying, &ldquo;Sandeep had a clear vision for Animal from the start. He wants to tell the story over three parts. The second film, Animal Park, will start in 2027. It&rsquo;s thrilling because I&rsquo;ll play both the protagonist and antagonist in this installment. It&rsquo;s an incredibly exciting project with a highly original director.&rdquo;
Kapoor also provided updates on another much-anticipated sequel, Brahmastra Part 2: Dev, which is currently in the writing phase. Following the success of Brahmastra: Shiva, Kapoor confirmed that Alia Bhatt would reprise her role in the sequel and teased new additions to the cast. He praised director Ayan Mukerji's vision and expressed excitement about the franchise's growth.
Apart from these projects, Kapoor is gearing up for Ramayana Part 1, which features an ensemble cast, including Sai Pallavi and Yash. With Animal and Brahmastra shaping up as defining moments in his career, Ranbir Kapoor&rsquo;s journey in 2024 looks nothing short of spectacular.

The 69th Hyundai Filmfare Awards 2024 with Gujarat Tourism began on a fiery note on January 27. The curtain-raiser ceremony was hosted by actors Aparshakti Khurana and Karishma Tanna, during which winners for technical categories, including cinematography, screenplay, costumes, and editing, were announced. While Vicky Kaushal's 'Sam Bahadur' cliched three awards, Shah Rukh Khan's 'Jawan' bagged the award in a major category. Meanwhile, Ranbir Kapoor's 'Animal', too, won big at the star-studded night.

The ceremony saw Sam Bahadur win in three technical categories, including Best Sound Design, Best Costume Design, and Best Production Design. Ganesh Acharya won the Best Choreography Award for 'What Jhumka?' from 'Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani'. Vikrant Massey starrer '12th Fail' took home the trophy for Best Editing, whereas SRK's 'Jawan' was honored with the winner of Best Special Effects (visual) and Best Action.

Hindustan Times quoted Ranbir Kapoor as saying, &ldquo;We are absolutely overjoyed by the response Animal received in theatres and now I am glad that audiences worldwide will get a chance to watch it in the comfort of their homes. The opportunity to showcase our work globally is truly special.&rdquo;&nbsp;
&lsquo;Animal&rsquo; will also be available in languages Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada on the OTT platform.&nbsp;
'Animal' legal trouble
Earlier there was legal dispute between co-producers of Animal, CINE 1 Studios Private Limited and T-Series. Cine1 Studios had to file a plea to stop the film's release on the OTT platform till T-series fulfilled the terms of agreement that said the two houses had complied to have 35 percent ownership each of the film and assigned its right of first refusal and last matching right. The matter was solved in Delhi High court.&nbsp;
The two production houses were represented by their respective senior advocates, Sandeep Sethi and Amit Sibal. They submitted the settled agreement between two parties and brought the same on record.&nbsp;

Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the film also stars Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Bobby Deol and Triptii Dimri. &lsquo;Animal&rsquo; was released in theatres on December 1.&nbsp;

The court has allowed the parties' legal representatives to submit concise summaries, not exceeding three pages, along with relevant case laws, before the upcoming hearing scheduled for January 22, 2024.

The Delhi High Court has issued summons in response to a lawsuit from Cine1 Studios Private Limited, a co-producer of the movie 'Animal.' They are seeking to halt the film's release on OTT platforms and have filed the suit against T-Series, requesting a directive to prevent the movie from being streamed on any digital or satellite platform.
Furthermore, Cine1 claims that despite the film's box office success, T-Series did not fulfill the profit-sharing agreement and didn't provide financial compensation. Cine1 is also contesting T-Series' announcement of a sequel called &lsquo;Animal Park,&rsquo; arguing that their rights extend to this new project and require their consultation.
Senior Advocate Sandeep Sethi appeared for the plaintiff in the matter and according to the suit, &lsquo;Super Cassettes has not only released the film without the approval, consent or consultation of the plaintiff, but it has also incurred expenses for making, promoting, and releasing the film without the plaintiff's approval or consent and received revenues from box office sales, but failed to disclose or disburse any sums to the plaintiff.&rsquo;
During a hearing, T-Series presented evidence suggesting that Cine1 had accepted a payment of ₹2.2 crore in exchange for relinquishing their rights to the film, which Cine1 allegedly didn't disclose. This raised doubts about the validity of Cine1's claims and their eligibility for legal remedies.
Justice Sanjeev Narula, after admitting the suit, issued summons to defendants and granted time to file a written statement.
The court has allowed the plaintiff to submit a response within 15 days of receiving the defendants' written statements. The plaintiff must also provide an affidavit confirming or denying the documents provided by the defendants; otherwise, their response won't be accepted.
The case will be presented before the Joint Registrar on March 15, 2024, to finalize the legal arguments and exhibit marking. Subsequently, it will return to the court for the formulation of legal questions to be addressed in the case.
The bench has instructed that responses must be filed by 11 am on January 20, and the plaintiff can submit rejoinders, if any, by the end of the same day.
Additionally, the court has allowed the parties' legal representatives to submit concise summaries, not exceeding three pages, along with relevant case laws, before the upcoming hearing scheduled for January 22, 2024.

In an interview with Pinkvilla, the actor shared that the intense scene, which was shot in a single take, left her in tears once it was completed.
&lsquo;The whole sequence was one take because there was a lot of moving. It wasn&rsquo;t predictable. I didn&rsquo;t know what I was going to do. Sandeep told me just to feel how a person in this situation would feel. I remember only this. I don&rsquo;t remember anything between the action and the cut. I just can&rsquo;t process it. My brain was just going blank,&rsquo; Rashmika told Pinkvilla.

'Animal' is centered around a man's troubled relationship with his father. Now, if it's done very well, I don't mind watching it."
She further added, "But that's not what I've heard. And I don't think I'm the target audience anyway. Millions of people are watching it, so it's doing very well, and they don't need me."

Karan Johar said, &lsquo;People have come up to me after I spoke about how much I loved Animal, and said, 'You have made Rocky Aur Rani,' That's the vaccination for a film like Animal. 'I remembered how we used to get drunk and keep glasses on our head. I never understood why we did it. It suddenly came in my mind and I did that,' Bobby Deol shared.

Actor Bobby Deol's entry scene in Sandeep Reddy Vanga's 'Animal' where he dances to the song 'Jamal Kudu' has created quite a buzz on social media.
Now, the actor has opened up about the viral sequence and revealed that he came up with the dance moves himself.
Speaking with Bollywood Spy, Bobby shared that the director had shared the music with him beforehand.
Bobby Deol said: &lsquo;He (Sandeep Reddy Vanga) had made me listen to the music beforehand. He has got a great sense of music. He has got a great sense of everything about filmmaking. He found the song from somewhere and told me &lsquo;I will play this in your introduction.&rsquo;&rsquo;
During the choreography of the scene, he recalled his childhood days in Punjab where they would get drunk and keep glasses on their heads.
The actor said, &lsquo;When we started shooting, the choreographer said, &lsquo;You do it.&rsquo; I was like, &lsquo;What will I do?&rsquo; I started dancing and he told me, 'No, No. Don&rsquo;t do it like Bobby Deol.&rsquo; Then Saurabh, who plays my brother, I told him, &lsquo;Can you do and show? How would you do it?&rsquo; Then I suddenly remembered the time when I was small and we used to go to Punjab. I remembered how we used to get drunk and keep glasses on our head. I never understood why we did it. It suddenly came in my mind and I did that. Sandeep liked it.&rsquo;

He wrote, &lsquo;There will be massive fights over the content and the character of Ranbir in ANIMAL long after its box office run is over and I truly believe it can also trigger a cultural overhaul due to the way Sandeep has ripped off the clothes of moral hypocrisy with his bare naked honesty.&rsquo; He called Animal a social statement and wrote, &lsquo;That is because ANIMAL is not merely a film .. it is a SOCIAL STATEMENT. Deol, who garnered attention since the teaser's release in September, embodies the role of antagonist Abrar Haque.
&lsquo;In every individual, there's both good and evil, and it's situations that bring out the evil. As an actor, you perceive as the character, believing 'I'm not doing anything wrong, I'm right in what I do.' You lose the ability to discern right from wrong,&rsquo; the actor shared with PTI.
He embraced playing a character detached from morals and values, driven by a convincing backstory. &lsquo;There was no hesitation or discomfort in portraying a character devoid of morality. I completely understood Abrar, his savagery and malevolence. I had to embody that,&rsquo; Deol elaborated.

&lsquo;It's not about the duration; it's about the substance in the character. I wished for more scenes, but I knew what I signed up for. I was grateful for the chance to portray this role by Sandeep. I had 15 days of work, knowing I wouldn't be there throughout the film. I was confident people would notice me, but the overwhelming love and appreciation were unexpected,&rsquo; he confessed.
Acknowledging the audience's fervent response to his character, Deol expressed hope for a spin-off. Additionally, he detailed the physical challenges of maintaining the role's physique and highlighted his enthusiasm for portraying complex negative characters across different projects.

The actor deleted the post shortly after, but screenshots circulated online. Criticism emerged for her apparent support of a film deemed to 'glorify toxic masculinity'.
&lsquo;Why are you glorifying this sh*t movie. Cult?!! Cult?! Seriously!? Even men are calling out but actresses are hyping this?! I can&rsquo;t with this herd mentality. Women, just stop. Stop glorifying, hyping Animal movie,&rsquo; wrote a user on Reddit.
Another comment read, &lsquo;Movies like Animal is what gives rise to people like Mansoor Ali Khan. The fact that Trisha of all people goes and wax lyrical about that movie is just all kinds of wrong.&rsquo;

But of course, some people who were waiting for a chance to launch a hate attack against her (the very same people who were silently supporting the awful guy who made sleazy comments about her publically &amp; is facing legal action) lapped this up. For the unversed, Trisha was recently in the news for calling out Mansoor Ali Khan for a rape comment.
Last month, Tamil actor Mansoor Ali Khan said in a comment that he was disappointment as he did not have a scene with Trisha in &lsquo;Leo&rsquo;, adding that they could have had a rape scene together which sparked outrage and Trisha also called him out.
