<p>Popular Alka Yagnik suffers from rare sensory hearing loss. She informed everyone through an Instagram post that it happened after one of her flights. When she came out of the plane, she realized that she could not hear anything. The singer also advised everyone to not listen to loud music and minimise use of headphones.</p>

<p>Renowned playback singer Alka Yagnik has been diagnosed with a rare sensory hearing loss. In her Instagram post, she explained she has been missing in action due to this reason. She further mentioned that this 'sudden major setback' caught her off guard, and she is still grappling with it.</p>
<p>On June 17, Alka shared a photo of herself and requested everyone's support and understanding. She also asked for prayers as she hopes to recalibrate.</p>
<p>Sharing the post, she wrote, &lsquo;To all my fans, friends, followers and well wishers. A few weeks ago, as I walked out of a flight, I suddenly felt I was not able to hear anything. Having mustered some courage in the weeks following the episode, I want to break my silence now for all my friends and well wishers who have been asking me why I&rsquo;m missing in action (sic).&rsquo;</p>
<p>She continued, &lsquo;It has been diagnosed by my docs as a rare sensory neural nerve hearing loss, due to a viral attack...This sudden, major setback has caught me completely unawares. As I attempt to come to terms with it please keep me in your prayers (sic).&rsquo;</p>
<p>Alka also requested people to be careful about exposure to loud music and headphones.</p>
<p>&lsquo;For my fans and young colleagues, I would add a word of caution regarding exposure to very loud music and headphones. One day, I wish to share the health perils of my professional life. With all your love and support I am hoping to recalibrate my life and come back to you soon. Your support and understanding will mean the world to me in this critical hour (sic),&rsquo; she explained.</p>
<p>Alka Yagnik, 58, is one of the prominent singers in Bollywood. This year, she lent her voice to songs in 'Crew' and 'Amar Singh Chamkila'.</p>

<p>Alka Yagnik is one of the most popular and finest singers in Bollywood and now according to Guinness World Book Records, she was the most streamed artist on YouTube globally in 2022.</p>
<p>The singer had 15.3 billion YouTube streams last year, and an average of 42 million per day. She has surpassed the Puerto Rico rapper and singer Bad Bunny, who got 14.7 billion streams. The list also says that the Indian singer was the most streamed artist on YouTube and she had 17.7 billion streams in 2021 and 16.6 billion in 2020. According to ChartMasters, almost 25 per cent of the Youtube users are from India.</p>
<p>Artists that made it to the top five include Udit Narayan at 10.8 billion, Arijit Singh at 10.7 billion, and Kumar Sanu at 9.09 billion.</p>
<p>While the K-Pop band, BTS received 7.95 billion streams and the South Korean girl group BLACKPINK got 7.03 billion.</p>
