Newly appointed Indian Air Force chief Marshal Vivek Ram Chaudhari on Wednesday clarified that no two-finger test was conducted on the 28-year-old woman who had accused a fellow IAF officer of rape at the Air Force Administrative College (AFAC) in Coimbatore.
A woman officer of the Indian Air Force claimed that she was subjected to the banned &ldquo;two-finger test&rdquo; by medical officers at the academy. The two-finger test is a preliminary, unscientific examination of rape victims to ascertain sexual abuse. She further alleged that&nbsp;some of the officers intimidated her and forced her to withdraw the complaint.
When asked about the allegations by the female officer in her FIR, the Air Chief Marshal stated that the &lsquo;IAF law is very strict&rsquo; for any such incident. He also mentioned that the two-finger test conducted on a woman officer is misreported.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh tweeted to condole the death of the courageous soldiers who were on a mountaineering expedition.
A rescue team from Uttarkashi-based Nehru Institute of Mountaineering (NIM) led by Colonel Amit Bisht is searching for the missing men, news agency PTI reported quoting the institute. The institute has said bad weather in the area is slowing down the rescue team operation.
A combined team of Army, Air Force and the State Disaster Response Force are also looking for the missing men.

A woman Indian Air Force (IAF) officer who accused her colleague of rape has claimed that she was subject to the &ldquo;two-finger test&rdquo;, which is a preliminary, unscientific examination of rape victims to ascertain sexual abuse, by medical officers at the academy.
She further said the some of the officers intimidated her and forced her to withdraw the complaint. 
An officer of the Indian Air Force College was arrested on Sunday for allegedly raping a colleague at the Indian Air Force College in Redfields, Coimbatore.
Reports said that the alleged sexual assault took place ten days ago and the woman had complained to the IAF authorities who allegedly did not take any action.
The woman officer then filed a complaint with the Coimbatore Police stating that she was not satisfied with the enquiry done by the IAF authorities.
Following the investigation, the accused officer, Flight Lieutenant Amrinder, was made to surrender and been sent to judicial custody and is currently lodged at Udumalpet jail.
In a statement, the Air Force said: "The IAF is cooperating with the police investigation and is also conducting an internal inquiry. We cannot comment any further as the matter is subjudice."

Each organisation under the ministry&nbsp;such as the Army, Air Force, Navy, Integrated Defence Staff, Assam Rifles and Indian Coast Guard, will transfer the records -- including war diaries, letters of proceedings and operational record books -- to the ministry&rsquo;s History Division for proper upkeep, archival and writing of histories.
According to the policy, records should ordinarily be declassified in 25 years. It is for the first time that a government has issued a policy regarding declassification of defense-related information.
However, it is not immediately clear if details and documents related to India's conflict with China in 1962 and Indian Army's Operation Bluestar in 1984 will be declassified under this policy or not. Officials&nbsp;have indicated that a high-level committee at the MoD would decide these matters on a case-to-case basis.

India is set to begin a formal roll-out of its long-awaited theaterisation plan to best utilise its military&rsquo;s resources. The Hindustan Times has reported that the Air Defence Command and the Maritime Theatre Command are set to be launched by May.
The Air Defence Command, which will come up in Prayagraj, will be the first to be set up in April. It will control the air defence resources of all the three services. The Maritime Theatre Command, to be headquartered in Karwar on the west coast, will come up the following month and be responsible for securing India from seaborne threats and will have army and air force elements under it.
The commands are being set up in the backdrop of border tensions with China on the Line of Actual Control and Pakistani hostility along the Line of Control, and at a time when India is demonstrating a muscular stance in the Indo-Pacific region.
