The Realme GT 2 is arguably the best new value flagship on the market, with a price-to-performance ratio that beats out the competition

Around 8 months ago, I reviewed the <a href="https://www.editorji.com/story/realme-gt-5g-review-flagship-killer-with-snapdragon-888-1630076689992" target="_blank">Realme GT</a>. It had killer looks, flagship specs, and a price tag that was all about value for money. So when Realme sent over their new GT 2, I thought--how can this be any better? Well, today I've got the phone with me and having spent over a week with it, I only have two words for it--underrated legend.
<h3>Design &amp; Display</h3>
Like the previous GT, Realme has made the GT 2 a real head-turner, and in this Paper White variant, it looks quite unique. It does share its design with the GT 2 Pro, including the signature of its designer, Naoto Fukasawa, who you might remember from our <a href="https://www.editorji.com/story/realme-gt-master-edition-review-sd-778g-at-just-25-999-1629544120783" target="_blank">GT Master Edition</a> review as well. Anyway, this textured finish on the back isn't all just looks, it feels almost like paper, hence the Paper White name for the variant. It isn't actual paper, of course, it's biopolymer, that's been derived from renewable sources like paper pulp, and claims to reduce carbon emissions during manufacturing. That, I think, is a much better way of claiming to save the environment than let's say, not giving a charger in the box.
But, back to the phone for now, which is fairly lightweight considering its hardware, at 194.5g for this particular variant. It's also decently slim at 8.6mm and feels really nice to hold in the hand thanks to the textured back. I will say this though, that even though this white coloured phone didn't seem to pick up a whole lot of dirt and dust during my usage, I don't know how well it'll hold up in the long run, so if you want to protect it, you can use the high-quality phone case that Realme includes in the box.
In terms of display, the GT 2 has been upgraded with a 6.6-inch Samsung E4 AMOLED panel. It's got an FHD+ resolution with brilliant colours, good viewing angles and a super-smooth 120Hz high refresh rate. It offers a great experience whether you're watching content on OTT platforms or just scrolling apps endlessly, this display is an absolute joy to use. There is Widevine L1 certification for Netflix, but HDR is limited to apps like YouTube and Amazon Prime Video. The screen is completely flat, which I like, but the bezels aren't as skinny as the GT 2 Pro, with a slightly more pronounced chin. One-handed operation is just about manageable, but you will still have to shuffle your hand to reach higher parts of the screen.

<h3>Cameras</h3>
Now cameras have always been a bit of a weaker point on Realme phones, but the company has made some strides in improving that and it shows on this Realme GT 2. For instance, it sports a 50MP Sony IMX766 primary sensor for high quality images and better colours than usual, and also features optical image stabilisation. The ultrawide lens remains the same as the previous model, though, with 119-degree field-of-view and an 8MP sensor. And, of course, no Realme smartphone would be complete without the dhaniya-mirchi 2MP macro sensor which unfortunately, feels out of place on a phone that's otherwise very capable.
Unsurprisingly, the main 50MP sensor is the highlight here, and takes good pictures in well-lit outdoor scenarios, and when you're in mixed lighting conditions, the HDR works pretty well too. Colours are sharp and punchy enough across the range, but not over-saturated. The sky in some images didn't look extremely accurate, but overall, image processing is a big step up from the Realme GT.
The 8MP ultrawide performs as expected, offering a wide field-of-view and colours that aren't too far off from the main sensor, which is appreciated. However, due to it's significantly lower resolution, there is a visible lack of detail. It's a similar story with the 2MP macro, which mostly offered inaccurate colours and pictures that weren't always the sharpest. Honestly, the main sensor packs enough pixels to use at 2X to get close up to objects, and I'd suggest using that instead.
In terms of low-light performance, the Realme GT 2 gave me good results, as long as I turned on the dedicated Night Mode. It still did a decent job without it, but turning it on just made things a bit sharper and better exposed light sources in the frame. I will admit, though, that the camera had a habit of picking up lens flare in low-light images with stray light sources, which I wasn't a fan of.
The Night Mode was even more helpful with ultrawide sensor, adding light, sharpness and colour to low-light ultrawide images.
When it comes to video, the GT 2 shoots at a maximum 4K at 60fps, but the EIS caused noticeable jitter in the frame at times. Auto-exposure also tends to be quite aggressive, sometimes causing a loss in colour accuracy.
In the hole-punch display lies the front facing camera with a 16MP sensor that captured good selfies in both indoor and outdoor scenarios. Skin tones were mostly accurate, there was more than enough detail for social media use and the edge detection in the portrait mode was also surprisingly accurate. It's worth noting that the front camera shoots videos at up to 1080p, and I would have liked to see a 4K option here.
<h3>Performance &amp; Software</h3>
Performance is perhaps one of the only areas on the Realme GT 2 where there hasn't been a massive upgrade because it runs on the Snapdragon 888 chipset, same as the GT 5G. It also gets up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM like the previous generation, along with up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. Now that isn't to say I missed having a more powerful chipset, the 888 is a very capable flagship chipset that holds its own, and no matter what workload I put the GT 2 through, it performed without any issues. Day-to-day tasks, app-switching, and multi-tasking caused no stress to the phone, and even graphic intensive titles like Call of Duty Mobile ran optimally on the GT 2. Even gaming for extended periods of time didn't cause any major frame drops or lag, and the phone didn't really heat up to uncomfortable temperatures during my usage.
The smooth user experience is also helped by Android 12 and Realme UI 3.0. Apart from some bloatware which you can easily uninstall or disable, the software on this phone is great and snappy to use. UI animations are quick without stutter, buttons are the right size, and there's plenty of customisation options and handy features. I particularly liked Background Stream, which lets you run apps like YouTube in the background, without needing to buy YouTube Premium. Moreover, Realme has promised three years of major OS updates and up to five years of security updates to the Realme GT 2, which is really good to see.

<h3>Battery &amp; Utility</h3>
The Realme GT 2 has gotten a bump in battery size over the last generation, now sporting a bigger 5,000mAh battery unit. I mostly got a full day of battery life even with the 120Hz refresh rate and heavy usage patterns, and with moderate usage, you should be able to make it last even further. The battery still charges at the same fantastic 65 watts, and the included 65W adaptor should get you from flat to full in 35-40 minutes.
There is one omission compared to the GT 5G, which is the lack of a 3.5mm headphone jack on the GT 2. To be completely honest, I'm not a stickler for high-fidelity audio and I've moved almost entirely to wireless audio, so it's not a huge deal-breaker for me, but still worth pointing out for those that care. There's also no microSD card expansion, just space enough for two nano SIM-cards, and while there's no official IP rating, there is a rubber gasket on the SIM tray which is reassuring.
Omissions aside, the Realme GT 2 does get a super-fast and accurate in-display fingerprint scanner along with loud stereo speakers, and there's several 5G bands for whenever the high speed network rolls out in India.
<h3>Price &amp; Verdict</h3>
So, I started this review by calling the Realme GT 2 an underrated legend, and if you take a look at everything the phone offers at its starting price of ₹34,999, it really lives up to the title. It offers more value-for-money than almost all of its competitors, including the likes of the <a href="https://www.editorji.com/tech-news/gadget-review/oneplus-9rt-review-pretty-much-as-good-as-it-gets-1645174977117" target="_blank">One Plus 9RT</a>. It's packed with killer looks, a large battery, a vastly improved camera and all the performance you could need in 2022. Honestly? It doesn't get much better than this.

Elon Musk has always loved Twitter, and after years of couple-y fights, the two seem to be finally together!
The SpaceX and Tesla boss who enjoys a whopping following of 84.9 mn on the platform, is known for his prolific, and mostly controversial tweets.
On April 25, the board of social media platform Twitter agreed to a $44 billion takeover offer from Elon Musk. But how did we get here? Let&rsquo;s take a quick look.
How Elon Musk acquired Twitter
Elon Musk had joked about buying Twitter as early as 2017, but things got serious in 2022. The world&rsquo;s richest man reportedly started buying twitter stock in January, and according to reports by AP, had consolidated a 5% stake in the company by March 14.
By April 4, Musk had taken a 9.2% stake in Twitter, worth around $2.9 billion, making him the single largest shareholder. Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal then announced that Musk would be appointed to the company&rsquo;s board, an invite which Musk rejected.
Instead, on April 14, Elon Musk offered to buy Twitter outright, in an all-cash deal worth $43.4 billion.
Twitter was however, less effusive in its praise for Musk. Twitter went on the defensive, deploying a &lsquo;poison pill&rsquo; strategy, which would flood the market with newly created stock and make the takeover prohibitively expensive, even for the world&rsquo;s richest man.
On April 24, Twitter&rsquo;s board held discussions with Musk, wherein they seriously considered his offer. The discussions continued well into the next day, and the $44 billion deal was sealed on April 25.

Under Musk, what next for Twitter?
Once Elon Musk takes over as owner, things are set to change.
Twitter, which is currently a publicly listed company, will turn private, and stockholders will receive $54.20 in cash for each share of Twitter common stock that they own.
Musk has, in the past, criticised Twitter for lacking features, which he may now work to add.
Among these has been the "edit Tweet" button, which Twitter users have long clamoured for. He has also called for the company&rsquo;s algorithm, which controls what content people see, to be made transparent and open source. He has also promised to &lsquo;defeat spam bots&rsquo;, authenticate all real human users, and combat cryptocurrency scams.
Elon Musk has regularly criticised Twitter for its alleged lack of adherence to free speech principles. In a statement announcing the deal, he refers to the platform as the &ldquo;the digital town square where matters vital to the future of humanity are debated&rdquo;. He has tweeted saying that wants even his worst critics to remain on Twitter.
Who will lead Twitter now?
While it is not clear who will lead the social media giant moving forward, but it looks like the end of the road for CEO Parag Agrawal, who took over from co-founder and former boss Jack Dorsey last November. According to a report by research firm Equilar, Parag Agrawal will get paid $42mn is he's sacked as CEO within 12 months of being appointed.

Twitter takeover: Opinion divided
Former Twitter CEO and founder Jack Dorsey has expressed cautious enthusiasm over the takeover, saying that he trusts Elon Musk to &lsquo;extend the light of consciousness&rsquo;.
But opinion is clearly divided.
Musk's fellow space enthusiast &amp; Amazon founder Jeff Bezos couldn't let the opportunity slide. He chimed in, flagging a post by a New York Times reporter who pointed to connections between Tesla and the Chinese government.
Many are not enthusiastic about Twitter&rsquo;s content moderation policy being under Musk's control, who calls himself a &lsquo;free speech absolutist&rsquo;.
Human rights organisation Amnesty International has expressed concern with any steps that Twitter might take to erode enforcement of the policies and mechanisms designed to protect users.
Some users have already threatened to quit the platform, among them British actor Jameela Jamil, who says she fears the new focus on free speech would help Twitter reach its &lsquo;final form of totally lawless hate, bigotry, and misogyny&rsquo;.
However, Republicans in the United States are already calling for former President Donald Trump be reinstated on the platform.
Elon Musk has, in the past, said that he would prefer &lsquo;timeouts&rsquo; over permanent bans as punitive measures for those who violate Twitter&rsquo;s policies.

Twitter users, on the other hand, are wasting no time in mining the whole situation for meme gold.
Some suggested that Musk could have just downloaded Twitter for free off the app store, instead of buying it for $44 billion, while others posted about Elon finally setting the caged bird free.
Many have pointed out Musk&rsquo;s free-wheeling approach to posting on his own Twitter profile, where he has been known to post irreverent memes, the latest comparing Bill Gates to the pregnancy emoji.
Whatever one may feel about Elon Musk&rsquo;s takeover of Twitter, one thing is for sure: the winds of change are afoot for one of the world&rsquo;s largest social networks.

Samsung's&nbsp;Galaxy A73 5G is the most premium A-series from the brand this year, but does it make good on that promise?

The new Samsung Galaxy A73 5G is the most premium device in the brand's A-series line-up this year, and promises to offer a great experience overall, which is what we're going to put to the test.
<h3>Design &amp; Display</h3>
The Galaxy A73 is really well designed, and it looks modern and minimal. The colour I've got with me is the 'Awesome Mint' variant and I have to say, it's really pretty! The back is finished in matte, so it doesn't really pick up fingerprints at all, but it is made of plastic. Speaking of plastic, the frame of the A73 is not metal, even if it's been polished to make it look that way. I do like that Samsung has done this, though, because it gives the phone a striking similarity to the S22 and S22+. Weight-wise, the A73 is just a shade over 180g, making it quite lightweight despite its big size.
The front of the Galaxy A73 gets this big and beautiful 6.7-inch display with a full-HD+ resolution and a buttery smooth 120Hz high refresh rate. In true Samsung fashion, colours are rich and punchy, and using this phone for watching content is a treat. Adding to that experience is Widevine L1 certification and&nbsp;HDR 10 support for Netflix.
It's worth noting that the 120Hz refresh rate is not adaptive, and the A73's display features Gorilla Glass 5 protection.
<h3>Cameras</h3>
Samsung's phones at nearly every price-point are known for their great camera performance, and to help keep that reputation intact, Samsung fitted the A73 with a quad camera system on the back. There's a 108MP primary sensor, a 12MP ultra-wide sensor, and two 5MP sensors--one for depth and one for macro shots.

In well-lit, outdoor scenarios, the main sensor performed quite well, and I was somewhat surprised to see that Samsung had toned down the over-processed, saturated look that's usually seen on its A-series devices. Colours were quite well preserved, and there was good dynamic range in shots that required it. Being such a high resolution sensor, there was quite a lot of natural depth of field when shooting objects, although I noticed a tearing effect around the edges of the frame at times. Shots taken indoors with mixed lighting conditions were pretty good too, but the camera had a tendency to pick up noise in the darker areas of the frame.
With the ultrawide lens, there was a bit of colour shift in some images compared to the main sensor, but on the whole, the processing was pretty uniform. The field-of-view is quite wide though, so you will notice the phone doing some heavy lifting when it comes to correcting distortion in the frame.
The 5MP depth sensor helped with portrait images, and with good lighting, I got fairly good results. Colour accuracy was mostly on point, and edge detection for such a wide frame was also pretty decent.
The 5MP macro sensor, on the other hand, produced some mixed results. In some close-ups, colours were close to what they looked like in real life, but at times, there was a visible lack of accuracy and detail in the image.
So in terms of overall versatility, the A73 is quite sorted, but I do wish there was a dedicated telephoto lens here like we saw on the <a href="https://www.editorji.com/story/samsung-galaxy-a52-galaxy-a72-review-what-makes-them-awesome-1617719130317" target="_blank">Samsung&nbsp;Galaxy A72</a>.
When it comes to videos, the A73 shoots at a maximum of 4K 30fps, but for smoother, 60fps filming, you'll have to bump down the resolution to 1080p. It's still good to see that there's optical image stabilisation here though, and there's also an ultra-steady mode to get even more stable footage.
The front 32MP selfie sensor performed really quite well in decently-lit environments, with good detail reproduction and natural skin tones. The portrait mode also showed accurate edge detection and offered pleasing results. It's worth noting that videos with the front camera can be taken at the same resolution and frame rate as the back--4K at 30fps.

<h3>Performance &amp; Software</h3>
Now performance is a bit of an interesting area for the Galaxy A73, because despite being at a value flagship price point, it sports the Snapdragon 778G chipset, and while it is quite a capable performer, it's usually seen on mid-range phones. It's present on phones that are nearly half the price, in some cases, which makes it a bit of an odd choice for the A73. Still, for day-to-day tasks, performance from this chipset is great, and at no point did I feel that the phone was sluggish or struggling to keep up.
Even when playing graphic intensive games like Call of Duty: Mobile, I was able to max out the settings and play comfortably for long sessions without performance taking a hit or thermal throttling being an issue. There's 8GB RAM on tap, no matter what storage variant you buy, so switching through apps idling in the background wasn't a problem either.
Speaking of usage, the user experience on the A73 is excellent, thanks to Android 12 and One UI 4.1 on top, with all of Samsung's customisation options and extra tools. I particularly enjoyed loading up the Good Lock app for the One Handed+ feature, because of how large this phone is. In addition to this, Samsung has also promised 4 years of Android OS updates to the A73 and 5 years of security updates, making it about as future-proof you can in the Android world.
<h3>Battery &amp; Utility</h3>
Now I said earlier that the 120Hz refresh rate on the A73 is not adaptive and eats into battery life, so it's good that Samsung has fitted the phone with a 5,000mAh battery. With moderate usage patterns, I got well over a day's worth of usage, and even with heavy workloads, I wasn't able to kill it in the span of a single day.
Charging also seemed to be pretty well optimised, because 25W fast charging on the A73 took the phone from flat to full in around 80 minutes, which sounds like a lot, but it's also a massive battery unit. Still, it's not all good news here, because like with other A-series devices, there's no charging adaptor in the box, only a Type-C to Type-C cable. So if you want to take advantage of that faster charging, you're going to have to spend Rs. 1,299 buying the adaptor from Samsung.

Another important exclusion is the lack of a headphone jack this time, a blow that is somewhat cushioned by the fact that the stereo speakers are really loud and clear on the A73. There's also an in-display fingerprint scanner that worked well for me, and there's space for microSD card expansion, although it does come at the cost of a second SIM-card since the tray is a hybrid one. Still, it's better than not getting expandable storage at all. You also get an IP67 rating for the A73, which is something other phones at this price and higher tend to miss out on, so I'm glad Samsung is offering it here.
<h3>Price &amp; Verdict</h3>
At a starting price of ₹41,999, I'd be lying if I said the A73 wasn't an expensive phone--it is. And while the chipset is competent enough, it could have been more powerful at this price point. But if you're not someone that needs a super powerful processor, but does need the complete Samsung experience, many years of Android updates, a large battery and a big, beautiful screen, there's only one phone that does all that--the A73.

Oppo&nbsp;Enco Air2 Pro earbuds are the latest to offer active noise cancellation technology in the true wireless form-factor, at an affordable price point.

As a brand, Oppo has a pretty good track record when it comes to TWS earbuds. Their <a href="https://www.editorji.com/story/oppo-enco-buds-review-best-tws-for-first-time-buyers-1631613494717" target="_blank">Enco Buds</a> offered solid sound on a budget, and the <a href="https://www.editorji.com/story/oppo-enco-x-tws-review-best-anc-earbuds-under-10k-1611037539098" target="_blank">Enco X</a> were one of my favourite pairs of ANC earbuds last year. But now, they've launched something new--these are the Enco Air2 Pro, so are they the best next TWS earbuds from Oppo?
<h3>Fit &amp; Comfort</h3>
The Enco Air2 Pro sit fairly shallow in the ears, and didn't seem to go as deep as most in-ear buds. They still provide a good passive seal and drown out a fair bit of ambient noise, even without active noise cancellation.
The default eartips were a little tight in my ears, so I was glad that Oppo includes a couple of different sizes in the box to get a better fit.
For the most part, the earbuds sat quite comfortably in my ears despite long hours of usage, probably because each earbud weighs next to nothing at 4.3g. They also didn't come loose in my ears at any point, even when I used them during a workout.
<h3>Design &amp; Utility</h3>
The Oppo Enco Air2 Pro earbuds are designed quite simply, with long stalks and a round head for the drivers. They also get an IP54 dust and water resistance rating, which is good to see at this price point.
The stalks of the earbuds feature touch controls, that are triggered quite easily with just a tap. You can use them to change the music, control a voice assistant and enable the game mode.
You also get in-ear detection, which pauses playback when you remove an earbud and resumes when you pop it back in.
The charging case for the Enco Air 2 Pros is quite simple, like the earbuds themselves, but there's a translucent top on the lid that looks quite cool. Moreover, the case has been designed in a way that exposes more of the earbuds, making it easier to take them out of the case. The case is also pretty lightweight at just 42.8g, and it features a USB-C port at the back. There's no wireless charging though, which is worth pointing out.
Speaking of notable exclusions, there's also no Google Fast Pair here, but they are compatible with Instant connection to Oppo phones, and show up with this nice animation.

<h3>Sound Quality</h3>
When it comes to sound quality, the Air2 Pro earbuds are quite decent. Thanks to 12.4mm dynamic drivers, they get fairly loud, and the sound signature is pretty balanced. The earbuds aren't bass heavy, and seem to be tuned to a more natural sound profile, with clear mids and balanced highs.
Apart from this though, you can tune the sound profile using presets but I'll explain more of that later when I discuss the partner app for these earbuds.
In terms of codec support, there's only SBC and AAC codecs supported, and no LDAC or Qualcomm's AptX.
<h3>Active Noise Cancellation &amp; Call Quality</h3>
Active noise cancellation on the Enco Air2 Pro is better than I expected. It managed to drown out most ambient noise in an office setting like a noisy air-conditioner and people typing on a keyboard, but sudden, loud noises did make it through.
You can use the touch controls on the earbuds to cycle between active noise cancellation and transparency mode, in case you're in public and want to keep an ear out for announcements or traffic. I will admit though, that the transparency mode here does sound piped in and not as natural as I've heard on a pair of true wireless earbuds.
The Enco Air2 Pro earbuds really impressed me in terms of call quality, and offered good reception on both ends of the call. Thanks to dual-mic AI noise cancellation, everyone I spoke to using the earbuds said they could hear me clearly in moderately noisy environments.

<h3>Gaming &amp; Transmission Lag</h3>
So, the Oppo Enco Air2 Pro earbuds support low-latency playback for gaming, which can be enabled on Oppo smartphones that run on ColorOS 11.0 and higher, and on other smartphones using the Hey Melody app. Latency goes as low as 94ms, and while playing games like Call of Duty: Mobile, I noticed very little transmission lag. I was very impressed by how in sync everything sounded, but of course, if you're a hard-core mobile gamer, you may want to opt for a wired connection.
Thanks to Bluetooth v5.2, there were no issues in transmission while watching movies and TV shows, and connection quality was strong with no skipping during music playback.
<h3>Battery Life</h3>
When it comes to battery life, the Oppo Enco Air2 Pro claim to offer up to 7 hours of playback on a single charge, and up to 28 hours with the charging case. In my usage, I got around 5-6 hours with the active noise cancellation turned on, which is impressive, and Oppo has included support for fast charging, that gets you up to 2 hours' worth of battery life in just ten minutes of charging.
<h3>App Support - Hey Melody App</h3>
In terms of app support, the Oppo Enco Air2 Pro aren't ready just yet. I'm reviewing a pre-launch product, which means Oppo hasn't configured its partner Hey Melody app to be compatible with these earbuds just yet. This means that so far, if I've wanted to use more than the default touch controls or tune the sound profile, I've had to use an Oppo phone.
Oppo has said that support for the Enco Air2 Pro will be rolling out to Android devices by the time you see this review, with iOS support also on the way. Currently, you'll have to rely on an Oppo phone running ColorOS 11.0 or higher to modify the touch controls, update the firmware and change equaliser presets.

Priced at ₹3,499, the Oppo Enco Air2 Pro earbuds offer most modern features you'd expect, in a nice and simple-looking package. Sound quality is quite well balanced, and the battery life is also good, making these quite well worth the money.

Russia&rsquo;s invasion of Ukraine has triggered a major conflict between two European countries, and caused Europe&rsquo;s worst refugee crisis in the 21st century. While conflict continues on the ground between Russian and Ukrainian forces, this war is also notable for being fought on the digital frontier. It&rsquo;s been called the first TikTok war, or World Cyberwar I.
From misinformation campaigns on social media, to hackers trying to crack the security of government accounts and websites, for this war, the battlefield is also online.
<h2>Misinformation campaigns</h2>
Both sides in the war have been using social media to rally support and spread both information and misinformation. Apps like Telegram have become a virtual battleground, where official sources directly communicate their side of the war efforts to interested users.
Ukraine has used the internet to rally public opinion in its favour, and ask for support. Videos of President Volodymyr <a href="https://www.editorji.com/story/ukrainian-president-volodymyr-zelenskyy-vows-justice-as-russian-war-crimes-come-to-fore-1649159346469">Zelenskyy</a> walking around in devastated cities, and statements emphasising his willingness to stay and fight, have been widely shared by users across the globe.
Ukraine has also been able to crowdsource a &lsquo;virtual army&rsquo; to fight the information war. Mykhailo Fedorov, Ukraine&rsquo;s minister for digital transformation, has openly called for people with &lsquo;digital talents&rsquo; to join a Telegram group, where they will be given tasks to continue the fight on the cyber front. In March, he told TIME magazine that the global IT army was 3 lakh people strong.
Russia has had a more difficult time with social media campaigning, partly because mainstream western public opinion is very pro-Ukraine, and partly because websites like Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube have taken steps to remove Russian misinformation campaigns and restrict Russian news sources.
Russia has retaliated by blocking access to many of these networks, and encouraging citizens to turn to pro-Kremlin channels on Telegram to get their information.
Russia has also worked to control the perception of the war within its own borders. According to website Politico, the general perception of the Ukraine war on Russian state-owned media is very different from what global audiences have seen. Local news agencies and state-owned media have pushed claims that Ukraine started the conflict, or that America was helping develop bioweapons in Ukraine.
Platforms are also having a difficult time keeping up with the misinformation. According to Rene&eacute; DiResta, researcher at Stanford Internet Observatory, TikTok is having a difficult time moderating misinformation on its platform, which continues to run rampant. An investigation by NewsGuard found that new TikTok users were shown misinformation about the war within 40 minutes of creating a new account.

<h2>Hackers</h2>
While social media is one virtual battlefront, hackers from both sides have also been busy at work trying to disrupt war efforts.
Ukraine's State Service of Special Communication and Information Protection, has said that cyber attacks on the country&rsquo;s critical internet infrastructure have risen by 400% since the invasion. Targets have included state and local authorities, the security and defence sector, financial companies, satellite telecommunications, and the energy sector. Russia-backed hackers recently hacked into a number of Ukrainian military accounts on Facebook, and then posted videos urging the Ukrainian army to surrender.
Pro-Ukraine hackers have also been conducting attacks of their own. A video uploaded on February 27 to a YouTube channel that claims to represent hacking group Anonymous, declares war on Russia, promising to disrupt services in the country. I should point out here that there&rsquo;s no official group known as Anonymous, and different groups of hackers keep using the name.

WhatsApp has announced a series of updates for the voice messages functionality, many of which had long been asked for by users. The company says that its users send 7 billion voice messages every day.

WhatsApp voice messages can now be paused and resumed while recording. The app will also now have the out of chat playback feature, which will allow voice notes to continue playing after a user leaves the chat window. However, the playback will stop if the user switches to a different app.
The Meta-owned app has also added additional functionality to forwarded voice notes, allowing users to pause and resume, and increase playback speed.
