Twitter to soon remove legacy blue ticks

You free blue tick on Twitter will disappear on April 1.

Twitter will start removing legacy verified marks from user accounts beginning April 1, as it moves towards a model where only paid subscribers and approved organisations have that status.

Many public figures and journalists were previously marked as verified without paying for the subscription.

The blue verification mark is now a major feature of Twitter Blue's subscription offering, which is priced starting at ₹650 per month.

Paying subscribers also get higher priority in replies and searches, receive fewer ads, and can edit tweets.
