Samsung Galaxy S22 series to be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip in India

Samsung Galaxy S22 series in India will be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, the company has officially revealed. Samsung launched the Galaxy S22 series of smartphones globally on February 9 with either the Exynos 220 chipset or Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor depending on region. In the past, Samsung has offered its flagship S-series devices with its homegrown Exynos chipsets for Indian buyers, who will now be able to purchase the S22 series with Qualcomm's latest 4nm processor.

The Galaxy S22 series features three devices--the S22, S22+ and S22 Ultra. All three models get some common features, like Android 12 with OneUI 4.1, IP68 dust and water resistance, and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, built on the 4nm process.

The device also incorporates an S-Pen inside the body and features up to 12GB RAM and up to 1TB of storage. There's a 6.8-inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X 120Hz display, and a 108MP quad rear camera setup. Keeping the lights on is a 5,000mAh battery, with 45W wired fast charging support.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22+ retain much of the design language of their previous iterations, and both come with 8GB RAM and up to 256GB storage. On the front, the Galaxy S22 sports a 6.1-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X 120Hz display, while the Galaxy S22+ features the same screen, in a larger 6.6-inch size. For images and videos, the Galaxy S22 and S22+ sport 50MP triple rear camera setups with 10MP front-facing cameras. The Galaxy S22 houses a 3,700mAh battery with up to 25W wired fast charging, while the larger S22+ houses a 4,500mAh battery with up to 45W wired fast charging.
