Twitter restores Rahul Gandhi's account a day after he accused them of bias

Twitter has restored the account of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi a week after it was suspended for posting pictures that revealed the identity of a rape victim's family. Suspended accounts of several other Congress leaders have also been restored, according to party officials.

The move also comes a day after the former Congress President lashed out at the microblogging platform accusing it of bias and interference in India political processes. In a video statement he said that shutting down of his handle amounted to an 'attack on the country's democratic structure'.

Rahul Gandhi's Twitter account was suspended after complaints from National Commission for Protection of Child Rights saying that the Congress leader has violated juvenile justice law by tweeting a photograph that revealed the identity of a minor victim. The commission has also sought action against his Instagram account.
