Prashant Kishor quits as advisor to Amarinder Singh, says break from public life

Election strategist Prashant Kishor has resigned as principal advisor to Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh. In his letter to the CM, Kishor has reportedly stated that he wants to take a "temporary break" from active public life and would not be able to take up the role.

Punjab is headed for Assembly polls next year and Captain had appointed Kishor as his principal advisor in March while he was still working on the Trinamool Congress campaign in West Bengal.
Some reports, quoting sources close to Kishor, said that he never really took on the job and there is no point getting involved in state elections when the entire focus is on 2024 Lok Sabha Elections.

Prashant Kishor has been holding series of meeting with opposition leaders in Delhi since the Bengal results. Last month he met with all three Gandhis on the possibility of a more active role in the 2024 campaign. There is also buzz around him joining the Congress in some capacity.
