Mamata Banerjee holds talks with Sonia Gandhi, Sharad Pawar; promises more Delhi visits

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee met the top Opposition leaders during her Delhi tour. The TMC supremo who visited Delhi for the first time since her landslide victory in Bengal elections said that the outcome of her visit to the national capital has been good.

Mamata also said her meetings with Sharad Pawar and Sonia Gandhi were good as she added that ‘democracy must survive at all costs.’

Describing the meeting with Sonia Gandhi as "positive", Mamata said she discussed the political situation in the country as well as opposition unity with the Gandhis. Bengal CM is hopeful of positive results in the future.

Mamata further said that she will be visiting Delhi every two months.

However, a question about her 2024 election ambitions was met with cryptic response. Instead of giving an answer, Mamata said everyone’s motto should be to save the country.
