3 Covid-19 vaccine candidates are ahead in India: ICMR chief

The Indian Coucil of Medical Research Director General Prof Balram Bhargava has said that three Covid-19 vaccine candidates are ahead in the race in India. He said while the Serum Institute's vaccine candidate is in last leg of phase 2 and phase 3 trials, Bharat Biotech and Zydus Cadila's vaccine candidates have completed phase 1 trial. He also informed that ICMR sero survey is in-progress and should appear by this week. Bhargava said the second national sero-survey will be completed in the first week September.
