'Who is he?': Kapil Dev responds to Yograj Singh's shocking claims

Former India captain and cricket legend Kapil Dev has reacted to Yograj Singh’s explosive claim that he once wanted to shoot the legendary all-rounder.

Yograj Singh, father of former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh, made the revelation during an interview with Samdish Bhatia on “Unfiltered by Samdish.”

In the interview, Yograj stated that his anger stemmed from being dropped from the North Zone team, allegedly due to selection decisions made by Kapil Dev and Bishan Singh Bedi. He recounted how the decision left him heartbroken and nearly ended his cricketing career.

“When Kapil Dev became captain of India, North Zone, and Haryana, he dropped me for no reason,” Yograj claimed.

According to Yograj, his frustration reached a boiling point, and he went to Kapil Dev’s house armed with a pistol, intending to confront him. “I took my pistol out, I went to Kapil’s house in Sector 9. He came out with his mother. I abused him a dozen times. I told him, ‘I want to put a bullet through your head, but I am not doing it because you have a very pious mother, who is standing here.’”

When reporters recently asked Kapil Dev about the incident, his response was cryptic. Appearing unfazed, Kapil simply asked, “Who is Yograj Singh?” Upon clarification that Yograj was Yuvraj Singh’s father, Kapil chose not to comment further, leaving the question unanswered.

In his interview, Yograj also spoke about how his relationship with Kapil soured due to politics and alleged bias in team selections. He mentioned that his friendship with Sunil Gavaskar was one of the reasons he was sidelined.

Yograj further taunted Kapil by referencing India’s 2011 ODI World Cup victory, in which his son Yuvraj played a pivotal role. “In 2011, when India won the World Cup, there was only one guy who was crying, and it was Kapil Dev. I did send him a paper cutting that my son did better than you in the World Cup,” he said.

The claims and the silence from Kapil Dev on the matter have sparked a wave of interest among cricket fans, with the story trending across social media platforms.
