Travis Head Predicts Kohli, Rohit in 2027 World Cup

Alongside Indian spinner Axar Patel, Head expressed confidence that both Kohli and Rohit would be part of the ODI World Cup in two years, despite expectations that the upcoming series might be their last in Australia. "Two quality players, two of the great white-ball players. Probably, Virat is the greatest white-ball player. Rohit is probably not far behind," Head commented. Confessing his admiration for Rohit, Head, who shares the opening role, noted his accomplishments with immense respect. "I think they're both going to be 37, aren't they?", he added.

Given the intertwined cricketing relationships fostered by frequent India-Australia encounters and the IPL, players from both teams share familiarity. However, Head mentioned he hasn't had the opportunity to converse with Rohit about batting, something he wishes to do soon. He appreciates Rohit's gameplay style, acknowledging their similarities. Though they've faced off multiple times in IPL and internationally, genuine interaction has eluded Head. "I feel like he goes the right way about things, he plays the game in the right way." The hope remains for a future opportunity to connect, as Head believes Rohit will continue playing internationally for a while longer.

Head remained vague when discussing his own participation in all eight white-ball games against India, particularly with the Ashes drawing near. When questioned about Cameron Green's exclusion from the India series, Head explained it as a precautionary measure for the Ashes. "I'm sure he's (Green) going all right. He's in good hands.", he reassured, mentioning fellow teammate Josh Hazlewood's similar situation. Though missing Green is unfortunate, Head doesn't foresee it affecting the Ashes. The absence is felt more due to Green missing the next three games.

Predicting a fiercely competitive series, Head acknowledged the high skill levels on both sides. "Yeah, always a big series. If you look at the guys playing the series, eight games, it's against highly skilled opposition. So, it's a very exciting start to the summer," he concluded.
