Saptak Talwar Shines, Finishes Tied 16th at Dutch Futures

Spijk, Netherlands, August 25 (PTI): Indian golfer Saptak Talwar concluded his impressive campaign at the Dutch Futures, finishing in tied 16th place following a commendable final round of 1-under 70.

Displaying consistency over the weekend, Talwar remained under par for all four rounds, underscoring his growing confidence on the Hotel Planner Tour. With rounds of 70, 69, 69, and 70, he aggregated a total of 6-under for the tournament. Talwar showed tenacity by securing birdies on the sixth and seventh for the second consecutive day, further bolstered by birdies on the 10th and 13th holes, despite surrendering shots on the ninth, 11th, and the closing 18th.

Meanwhile, Filippo Celli clinched his maiden title on the Hotel Planner Tour with a thrilling finish at The Dutch Futures. Starting the day with a precarious one-stroke advantage, the Italian delivered a stunning six under par round of 65 to tally a 15-under par total, finishing two strokes ahead of Germany's Hurly Long, who had set an earlier clubhouse lead at 13-under.

Celli arrived at The Dutch in remarkable form, boasting three top-five finishes in his prior four starts on the Road to Mallorca, including a runner-up accolade at the Interwetten Open.

Elsewhere, Frenchman Oihan Guillamoundeguy and Scotsman Daniel Young shared third position at 10-under par, just shy of American Chase Hanna, Belgian James Meyer de Beco, and Scot Euan Walker.

In the larger Road to Mallorca narrative, Scotsman David Law maintains his position atop the rankings, followed by Guillamoundeguy. Young’s performance propels him three places to fourth, overtaking Englishman Joshua Berry, who slid to fifth.
