London, Aug 20 (AP) Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah and Arsenal midfielder Mariona Caldentey were honored as the men's and women's player of the year in English soccer at the Professional Footballers' Association awards on Tuesday. For Salah, this accolade marks a record third time he has been voted for by his fellow professionals, showcasing his exceptional talent and contribution to the game. The 33-year-old Egyptian international was instrumental in Liverpool's successful campaign, scoring 29 goals and providing 18 assists in the Premier League, helping the club secure a record-equalling 20th English top-flight championship. Additionally, Salah was awarded the Football Writers' Association's Footballer of the Year for a third time earlier in the year.
