Ross Taylor set to retire from international cricket

Taylor will only represent his country in the ongoing Bangladesh 2 match Test series, which will be his last Test series, and in the following ODI series against Australia and the Netherlands. 

Ross Taylor, ace New Zealand cricketer has decided to hang his boots after a 17-year long cricketing career.

The Kiwi veteran took to Twitter to announce the news. Taylor informed in his post that he will retire from all forms of cricket after the completion of home summer.

This means, the 37-year-old will only represent his country in the ongoing Bangladesh 2 match Test series, which will be his last Test series, and in the following ODI series against Australia in late January and then he will play the Netherlands at home.

The prolific batter who is one among the only 4 NZ players to have played over 100 Tests has amassed 7,584 runs in 110 Tests at an average of 44.87. He was the first in the cricketing world to play 100 internationals in all formats.

One of the linchpins of the current squad, the fearful batter who predominantly played at No. 4 has collected 8581 runs in 233 ODIs and 1909 runs from 102 T20Is.
