Ronaldo's Al Nassr face Yokohama in elite Asian quarters

Cristiano Ronaldo's Al Nassr have been matched against last season's finalists, Yokohama F-Marinos of Japan, in the quarter-finals of the revamped Asian Champions League, now known as the Champions League Elite.

The Portuguese star, who has claimed the UEFA Champions League title five times, aims to secure his first Asian triumph at the age of 40. Al Nassr's challenge will include overcoming Yokohama, managed by Steve Holland, the former assistant to Gareth Southgate with the England national team.

All phases from the quarter-finals to the final will be hosted in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, with each match decided over a single leg.

Should Al Nassr prevail over Yokohama, they would face either Kawasaki Frontale from Japan or Al Sadd from Qatar in the semi-finals.

In another quarter-final, Al Hilal, Saudi Arabia's four-time Asian champions, will compete against South Korea's Gwangju FC.

The victor will then face the winner of the clash between Thailand's Buriram United and Saudi Arabia's Al Ahli in the semi-final stage.

The quarter-finals are set for April 25-27, the semi-finals on April 29-30, culminating in the final on May 3.
