Calgary, Alberta—August 18 (AP)—Richard Green from Australia clinched his first PGA Tour Champions title by emerging victorious in the Rogers Charity Classic. Green showcased his skill by birdieing the par-5 18th hole, securing a 5-under 65 for a one-stroke win.

Ricardo Gonzalez of Argentina made a formidable challenge, birdieing the final two holes at Canyon Meadows to also record a 65. However, Green maintained his lead to take the title.

At 54 years of age, Green’s triumph came in his 71st start on the 50-and-over tour. He concluded the tournament at an impressive 18-under 192, having started with rounds of 65 and 62.

Miguel Angel Jimenez of Spain, the Charles Schwab Cup leader, who began the second round in the lead after two stellar rounds of 63, finished third at 16 under with a final round of 68. Jimenez remains a dominant force this season with four victories under his belt.

Additionally, Charlie Wi delivered a noteworthy performance, securing fourth place at 14 under after shooting his second consecutive 64. (AP)
