Franklin, Tennessee, USA, Sep 15 (PTI) - Indian golfer Rayhan Thomas showcased impressive progress on the Korn Ferry Tour, securing a tied 20th finish at the Simmons Bank Open, part of the Korn Ferry Finals, held at the Vanderbilt Legends Club.

The Dubai-raised 24-year-old demonstrated consistency throughout the week, closing at 11-under par. This performance earned him a pay cheque exceeding USD 17,000 and valuable points towards his pursuit of a PGA Tour card. His scores for the tournament were 65, 66, 71, and 68.

Thomas's final round was a roller-coaster, starting with a birdie and featuring an eagle on the 17th hole along with three other birdies. However, he also incurred four bogeys, concluding the round with a two-under 68.

With three more events, including the Korn Ferry Tour Championship, Thomas has the opportunity to retain his Korn Ferry card and potentially ascend to the prestigious ranks of the PGA Tour.

Meanwhile, Zach Bauchou displayed composure to clinch the Simmons Bank Open for the Snedeker Foundation. The American concluded with an impressive 23-under total of 257, finishing two strokes ahead of Austin Hitt.

Bauchou, who remained in contention throughout the week, maintained his momentum with a steady final round, securing his first Korn Ferry Tour victory. The win marked a significant breakthrough for the 28-year-old and enhanced his chances of graduating to the PGA Tour. Despite a strong push, Hitt settled for second place at 21-under.
