Rayhan Thomas Tied Eighth After Stellar Performance at Boise Open

Boise (USA), Aug 15 (PTI) – Indian golfer Rayhan Thomas impressively opened his campaign at the Albertsons Boise Open with a 6-under par 65, concluding the day tied for eighth place at Hillcrest Country Club. Rayhan's round featured four birdies and an eagle.

Indo-Canadian golfer Sudarshan Yellamaraju also enjoyed a solid start, delivering a bogey-free 4-under 67 to end the day tied for 33rd. Yellamaraju, who began on the back nine, secured birdies on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 15th holes.

Thomas commenced his round with a birdie on the 1st hole and quickly added an eagle on the 3rd. On the back nine, he birdied the 10th hole and ended his round with consecutive birdies on the 17th and 18th holes.

This season, Rayhan Thomas has managed only one top-10 finish on the Korn Ferry Tour. He aims for another strong performance ahead of the four-event Korn Ferry Series finals, which will determine the entries for the 2026 PGA Tour.

The first-round leader, Ward Dalton, overcame a start and finish with bogeys to shoot a spectacular 9-under 62. His round included five birdies and three eagles, leading the field by one stroke.
