WWE CEO & Chairman Vince McMahon retires amid ongoing misconduct investigation

Long time WWE CEO & Chairman Vince McMahon has announced he’s retiring as the wrestling group’s boss.

Vince's daughter Stephanie McMahon who has been acting as interim CEO since June this year is likely to take his place.

In a statement released by the WWE, McMahon said that as he approaches 77 years of age, he feels it's time to retire as chairman and CEO of WWE.

"Throughout the years, it’s been a privilege to help WWE bring you joy, inspire you, thrill you, surprise you, and always entertain you," added the 76-year-old.

His retirement comes at the time when he is being investigated by the WWE board to pay hush money to keep many women quiet about his alleged affairs.

If reports are to be believed, the board is investigating $12 million McMahon paid to four former WWE employees or contractors to silence allegations about sexual misconduct.
