Wrestlers' Protest: Abhinav Bindra 'horrified' with treatment meted out to grapplers

After Olympic gold medallist Neeraj Chopra and Indian football captain Sunil Chhetri, Olympic Champion Abhinav Bindra has also voiced his concern for the protesting wrestlers who were detained by the Delhi Police on Sunday.

The 2008 Beijing Gold medallist took to Twitter to share his thoughts on the Delhi Police's treatment of the grapplers, who were dragged away from the protest site and transported to different police stations across the city.

Bindra wrote, "Last night was sleepless, haunted by the horrifying images of my fellow Indian wrestlers protesting. It's high time we establish independent safeguarding measures across sporting organizations."

The 40-year-old also highlighted the need to treat our Olympians with respect, stating "We must ensure that if such situations arise, they are dealt with utmost sensitivity and respect. Every athlete deserves a safe and empowering environment."
